This app is so complicated and repeated request to customer service were not answered. This was my first time buying it in full and it was a BIG MISTAKE. There should be an onboarding call or someone to help if you are charging full price upfront. We would love a refund- since it's apparent we never were able to even set up the first discount but our request for a refund was refused. BUYER BEWARE

I got this app to work in tandem with product upset. Product upsell is not working correctly, and I am getting the run around from Bold. I have support tickets that seemingly are ignored. Responses that I do get do not relate to the issue. nobody answers the phone or calls back. Horrible Support services. The worst I have ever seen.

I had this app installed on 2 stores for Black Friday. Had to uninstall it 30 minutes after my sale started as it was not working as it was supposed to. Had been testing them out for about 2 weeks and all the edits I had made on one store, kept copying over to my other store. I thought I was hallucinating. They acknowledged the issue and blamed it on something about L Frame. They said I could only make changes to one store at a time ( I had both stores open in different browser tabs). It was a pain in the butt to do because both stores are exactly the same, just set up for different currencies. I moved ahead anyways and tested and tested and tested to make sure everything looked good. At midnight on Black Friday the app basically crashed. My social media and inbox was a mess with customers complaining that: 1. discounts weren't showing up on product pages. 2. when the discounts did show up, they disappeared by the time customers were ready to check out. For some customers, worked perfectly fine. At the end of it all, it turned into a huge administrative headache that we didn't need and didn't do as well as we'd predicted. We believe that this app is the cause. We historically have just used promo codes for big sales, but wanted to avoid the headache of "I forgot to use the code" and wanted to do sitewide, timed sales. Cleaning up the Bold mess was an even bigger mess that we're STILL dealing with as customers are receiving their credit card statements. A few days later I contacted their support to express my disappointment and asked for a refund, they agreed to do so and said it would be done in 10 days or so. I contacted them again after not seeing the refund, they said to check again Dec 25 (????). As of Jan 5, 2017, I STILL Don't have a refund. Update Jan 6th. Finally received my refund

Suddenly app does NOT create any discount no more, and I get no assistance from Boldapps. Don't waste your money with it, when it works it's all perfect, but when it gets some issues, Boldapps will let you alone,

Don't waste your money with this app. I wish I hadn't. It doesn't work like they say it will and it's nearly impossible to get help once it's paid for and installed. Many of my items were discounted more than I put in, and right now I set the time for a sale to start incorrectly and it will not let me turn it off or change it no matter what I do. NOT HAPPY with this app & strongly suggest that others DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!!!

Decided to jump in and buy this app after using several other bold apps and being pretty happy with the outcome. First of all, after charging me $99, they then require an additional fee to install the code for the app to even work. After paying this fee it took about 48 hours for them to supposedly install the code and tell me everything was ready to go, and I would have to turn on the theme. However, when i turned on said theme, there was code all over my product pages. So I contacted them to fix it, and had to go through a bunch of hoops just to get the issue resolved. Mind you this is the 24th of nov. and black friday is about to happen. Sure enough, all black friday and cyber monday my abandoned carts were through the roof. Why? So I do a test purchase and wouldnt you know it, code all over my checkout and it says bold all over it. Thanks bold for killing my best shopping season of the year. No app is worth the ridiculous headache this has caused my business. Did i mention I have contacted them 3 times about this now and still I have code all over my checkout and no idea how to fix it? If you are going to charge extra to install the code necessary for this app to work. You would think it would be done right. Frustrated as all get out!!!

Aweful customer service...stuck for now 3 days with no help. Already paid for the install and sent multiple messages but no one cares to even respond. I had marketing campaign planned but can't even run the promotions have to push everything back. I would not suggest this app purely based on poor customer service.

This app is a disaster! This is Holiday season & this app, instead of working properly, messed up my prices. I activated 30% discount in two collections. The app triggered 30% discounts in three collections, including a duplicate 30%. Thus some of the same products were discounted twice. How horrific! I did switching on & off (wasted several hours) but the error didn't disappear. Given it's the peak season of the year, I'm so pissed off.

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW***** Great APP. Nice it was a 1 time payment and now i can use it as often as i want. perfect for creating sales for the holidays. NOW that they have upgraded the app my one time fee is obviously no longer valid. Now it wants to force me to upgrade to a monthly plan. When i contacted BOLD they sent me a link so that i could resume using the software i had already paid for in the past--- this link takes me to a new one time $99 fee. What happened to the one time fee I paid in the beginning? If i try to use the app without upgrading I get an error message and i am locked out. I GUESS A ONE TIME FEE IS only a ONE time fee when they feel like it.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE save your $$. If you are buying this to be able to do BOG offers like I did, DON'T. Come to find out if you want to do a true "buy one full price, get one at 50% off" you have to create upsell offers for every single item in your store. That means I would have to create over 100 upsell offers just to run a one day sale?!? Otherwise, the customer can buy one and get everything else in the store for 50% off?!?! Or you can limit what they get for 50% off to the item you pick for them. I feel completely defrauded by this company.

At first glance I thought it was a good app, however it conflicts with Shopify's own Google shopping app. It creates a double sale that has to be removed by Bold support. They were happy to rectify this until they identified that the cause of the problem is a conflict between the two apps, they have advised me that they will not continue to do so going forward. I have requested my money back however due to the fact I have had this product for 7 months they have declined and stated that they are unable to inform customers of incompatibility's. their app has even with Shopify's own apps. I will avoid using this company in the future.

very bad search function to find your products. NOT easy to use, too many pop up windows and by far the ability to search for your products is the number one thing you want to use it for and it always can NOT find the products by just typing in a few letters. You have to go through so many clicks and menus for a very simple process. NOT worth the money for the hassles. Plus they are not very good at responding or showing you how to contact them when you have questions. I know it looks good just pay one fee but then you are stuck with the bad product search forever.

This app doesn't have the logic to apply discounts to individual Shopify variants. Instead, you're stuck applying a % discount or $ discount to ALL variants. I eventually stumble upon their support page where they say the work around is to create individual products to apply discounts to! That's ridiculous. If you are integrating an app into Shopify, it better be able to WORK with Shopify.

Once again, Bold let me down. Set this up to launch Black Friday Deals. Went in to change the dates to launch oat Midnight on Thanksgiving and it every time I would set the date, it would change it to the current date. Then when revising one of the dates and times, it went live and took $20 off every item on our site. Since it is so slow to update, Had to unistall the app to stop the bleeding. Many of our products are MAP priced, so this could have been damaging to our account if had gone unnoticed.

Painfully slow to update the prices. Dashboard and back end system is unnecessarily cluttered and confusing. Feel like an absolute sucker for paying $99.00 for this. I mean it'll do the trick for nixing discount codes, but if you're going to charge $100 bucks it should look like a $100.

CAVEAT EMPTOR, support for this app is mediocre, time consuming, and very frustrating, and I'm really just too busy for this crap. Their communication skills have thus far been very limited, and I don't know if the issue is: a. there is a communication disconnect and they don't understand what I am asking for (although I'm a pretty lucid and a direct communicator) b. they are dense c. they are lazy d. they really have no idea what it's like to run a small business Regardless, I'm regretting buying the app and I wish I'd gone with one of the other apps. Sale Icon and Countdown Timers are not part of the initial app, they have to be added afterward, which might be OK if you are a code-head, but if you're just a regular small business owner you'll have to pay them to install it for you. The price isn't horrible, I was ok with that, except they don't tell your any of this until you've already BOUGHT the app, and then the info is provided in an email. A link is provided in that email to a web page you won't be able to find it any other way, so DO NOT DELETE THAT EMAIL! On the web page it tells you to choose your Sale Icon & Countdown Timer choices, but it doesn't have a button or link illustrating your choices. There is a button at the bottom of the page that says "GET HELP" so I clicked it, thinking it would send me to a reference page, but it just billed me for the service. When the system asked me to Refuse/OK the charge I refused it (as I was nowhere ready to move ahead) and it still registered me for the service. I then emailed them, explaining that I was charged, was not ready to move forward, and was having a hard time finding my choices. They responded, offering to refund the charge and offer the services for free. Several more emails were exchanged, thanking them for the freebie, but I still needed the webpage that illustrates my choices. They kept sending me emails asking me to give them access to my shopify site, and I kept replying that I needed them to send me to the appropriate page with the options. They didn't get back to me over the weekend, despite the fact that I told them time was of the essence, and all I needed was for them to send me a link to the appropriate web page - not rocket science, and not a lot of work. Monday morning they replied with a small, difficult to read screenshot of a the appropriate web page, but no link or http address to the page it originated from. Seriously?! I finally excavated the email I referred to above (the one you should not, under any circumstances, misplace), found the link, and it appeared to be the page the screenshot was referring to. THANK GOD! I finally found the options I was looking for, and then found that they don't have any illustrations of what the different option will look like on your web page. Not super helpful if you don't want your online store to look like a MySpace page. Other Issues: 1. They don't have videos for all of their options. When you click the video button it says they are making one. 2. You can't find answers to all issues on the support page. For example, they don't have any support showing your options for Sale icons or Countdown Timers on the support page. ADDENDUM After I posted this review I received an email from one of the co-owners offering apologies and the following choice bits: "Everyone at the office read it and it's really made us all depressed." "...when I saw him (customer rep) read what you wrote that and called him dense his face just sunk, he feels really bad." "This review has really put everyone in the office into a depressed mood so I wanna do what I can here. It's the meanest review we've ever got, and right before Christmas... :-( " I'm not sure this company is run by adults, definitely not business people. All I want is software that works quickly and easily so I can get on with the work of my business.
