Hulk Product Options

This app is powerful and almost perfect, we're already using it for 2 years. It's amazing to handle a large bulk of custom options, including image swatches, and many personalization fields, like text input for engravings in our case. And you can create multiple bundles of option combinations, applying them individually for subsets of your product portfolio. Exactly what we need to sell our custom-made leather products. Super helpful! What makes it absolutely outstanding though, is their excellent customer service (rating 5+ stars!): They're coding wizards and could solve multiple UX problems for our specific product and cart pages within no-time, literally overnight. Without these custom adjustments, the buttons and price formatting would not have matched our product pages' look & feel. But they went above and beyond to make it look consistent. You rarely get such amazing customer service anywhere today! Translations in the backend (our Shopify language is German) are still not great and leave room for misunderstandings (status: March 2023). But this is just a minor UX topic for you as an admin, and only if you're using Shopify in another language than English I guess. Other than that you just have to factor in some UX trade-off as of the checkout page, as a buyer's chosen product options will always translate into a separate product on the checkout page (with an empty placeholder image). This logic stays the same for all steps after of course, e.g. in connected order processing and billing apps (also showing this separate products on shipping labels and invoices). There is nothing Hulk could do about atm, as they can only customize the flow until the cart page to guarantee a consistent look & feel, but not any further. Therefore, the UX is not perfect until the end, but at least until the final checkout page where a buyer already made their decision. In total, I would give 4.5 stars. Great job overall!

Thank you so much! :) The App is great, We've been using it for over a year to add size options to custom made bracelets with limited stock options, it lets us have a lot of different sizes without affecting our stock levels.

While there was a bit of a learning curve for me, this app does everything I wanted it to do! In particular, Amit P was a great help with the implementation of what we needed. I used this app to replace another variant options app which was affecting my checkout process and the discount code box. So far, I have found this app easy to install, the options show up correctly on my product page, in the cart AND in the checkout. Also, love the discount box in the cart. I am on the free plan for now, but if this consistently works well, it is worth the upgrade to the pro plan.

Only free app that can add a cost to a modifier. It looks good while doing it. It adds an item in the cart for each optioned item but I think it's the easiest way to circumvent Shopify's limitations right now.

Great app with easy setup! While I wish Shopify had this functionality out of the box, this app made it easy. I was able to add the product options easily and then inserted code snippets per instructions to get the selections to show up on packing slips. Hulk Apps support then stepped in and added the selections to all email notifications so now our customers can confirm their choices, and employees can see the details right from the order email. Future functionality suggestion: provide a way to link each of the selections to an underlying product for inventory tracking, sales metrics, etc. That would close the loop and make this app extraordinary. Overall, I'm thrilled with the performance of this app and impressed with Hulk Apps support. I'm using the free tier and they still took the time to help me tweak the setup and get it working the way I needed it to.
