Very difficult to use and VERY limited in what you can customize. I'm very disappointed in this application and the limits it's placing on our store.

Dreadful bounce rate and hopeless support. I have been using Mailchimp, integrated with Shopify for many years. Being fully integrated, our mailing list is automatically synced between the two. As Mailchimp has become so expensive for small businesses, I decided to try sending campaign emails from Shopify - campaigns very similar in content and length as previously sent from Mailchimp. My Mailchimp bounce rate on the last email sent on 1 Nov was 0.15% which I'm sure you will agree proves the list is pretty good. The very first campaign I sent from Shopify led to 5.7% bounces! I explain this to Shopify support and they just send AI generated suggestions that make no sense to my problem, passing me from support person to person in the hope I will go away. One phone call would sort this out but that's not possible nowadays. They leave me no choice but to stick with Mailchimp - and if this is an example of what to expect from today's support after 9 years of being with Shopify then I must consider moving my store to a better competitor. Oh and disregard Shopify's assertion here that I have been using the App for a year - they may have auto-installed it a year ago, but I only started using it in Nov 2024.

In the last two months the performance of the editor has absolutely tanked. It makes it impossible to type your emails out in the editor anymore. I'm talking 5-10 seconds of delay for typing and what appears on the screen. Typing everything out in a separate program like google docs is also super annoying since shopify email doesn't support paste without formatting and trying to format text in shopify email is a joke. You can just enter a font size, your forced to use a slider and hope you can get the exact value you want. Absolutely sucked all the joy out of making emails. Also give me back the ability to format text (bold, italics, etc on buttons). The section limit is awfully low too.

seems like a good app but it does not send your first 1,000 emails for free, you still have to pay a base price. I find this description very misleading and disappointing.

I have been using this application but it seems that there is always a bill to be paid even though there are not any bills. please fix that

The application is free it’s true, but it’s been 3 months since my emails are sent without my profile image and with an email address different from mine. I had to find myself why there was this, I was not contacted or warned. It’s free it’s true but pay attention the quality is not always present

Cant send email to my clients which i migrated from opencart, abandoned cart emails are never sent, most of campaigns are failed.

Only negative I have to say, but it's a biggie for me, is they require too many hoops to using one's own domain for email. Instead of just allowing one to add spf, dkim, _dmark into your DNS, Shopify Email sends you to another site where you have to sign up with them, then use the spf, dkim, _dmark info they provide, which is based on their understanding about how your domain host is configured, even though the info provided is not accurate for use with my host. Too many hoops for me!

doesnt load, cant edit the email i send out or it sends you into an eternal loading spiral. Unistalled and restalled again, nothing.

Emails getting send out late.. up to 24hrs of delay.. horrible. Not only useless, it's actively frustrating customers. Fix this people!

What is happening with Shopify Email? All test emails look horrible- they are either with extremely small text compared to what I set up, or some photos slip away from where it's supposed to stay, or some texts stick too close to other texts. I contacted their online support, but not very helpful. Very frustrating.

I truly stood by Shopify emails vs an email app. I would even refer our friends to Shopify emails instead privy or klaviyo. Since the 4th of July all of my emails have been failing. I have followed every step Shopify customer service has asked me to do and it still does not work. Because of this our sales have decreased and it has been a headache. I feel like shopify made a ton of updates this summer to the interface and email sales channel and I just wish it would go back to normal. Unfortunately I am going to be switching to a third party for our email campaigns.

I just started looking into the email app and I setup the New Arrivals template. Looks fine on PC, but the mobile version is really bad. Narrow columns of text with words broken up. How can a seller be expected to send that to a customer? Am I missing something?

1 major flaw - you cannot translate the content. For stores that sell across the world in multiple languages it doesn't help if you can only serve 1 language. Hopefully this will change and than it will be awesome!

For a free email marketing tool, don't expect much from this. It works on standard automation such as; "Welcome", "Abandoned", "Offers" etc. However, it gets pretty annoying when you want to customise a template to send an email to customers who purchased a certain product/collection. And you want to get segmentation details of. your customers. You won't find anything in the HELP articles, it's just a merry-go-round situation. This by Shopify is to just make up the FREE services. KLAVIYO is much much better in all aspects.

This app integrates well with shopify and my store and has an easy to use editor. However, after using this app for the past year, it has suddenly gotten VERY buggy. It shuts down multiple times while I am editing my emails and no longer lets Grammarly review the text content - so I have to export it to another screen outside of the app to even spellcheck an email. It is extremely frustrating. I am looking at other options since I have really hit my max of dealing with frustrations on this. Also, tech help did not even respond to my request.

Email template codes can't be edited. I need to customise the abandoned cart/checkout emails to not include products with a certain tag but can't do this. This is a vanilla product. Shopify's usual lets do the bare minimum product requirements and we will get away with it politics.
