all old templates are gone!

If you have any custom templates in the legacy Order Printer app, then you'll need to migrate your templates to the Shopify Order Printer app. In order to do so, you need to copy your template's code from the legacy app, and then paste the code into the new app. However, the new Shopify Order Printer app has a slightly different implementation than the legacy Order Printer app. This means that some of your existing templates might not work initially, and you might need to make some adjustments to your template's code. Expect lots of bugs and zero help from shopify support as shopify requires transition to this "new" Order Printer. This "new" Order Printer does not work correctly with any customizations/templates from the "legacy" Order Printer, and Shopify's support staff are zero help. Shopify's support page on transitioning from the "legacy" Order Printer to this "new" Order Printer is woefully inadequate, too. With this new Order Printer, Shopify changed all their liquid formats plus simple template code that worked perfectly on the "legacy" Order Printer no longer works on the "new" Order Printer...and nobody at Shopify can say why...or offer real solutions. What's more, if you use any 3rd party providers on your shopify store to help manage inventory, pickup/delivery, locations, bundles, discounts, tipping, just about anything...expect additional issues using this "new" Order Printer...and Shopify support is again zero help because they use 3rd party providers as a scapegoat. Don't get us wrong -- the "legacy" Order Printer was far far far from great...it required a TON of template customization to be even remotely useful. This is still the same for this "new" Order Printer...except that Shopify has thrown in the "bonus" of mysterious liquid and code changes (seemingly in secret, leaving both customers and support staff to stumble upon them as bad surprises). With this "new" Order Printer, Shopify shows yet again how out of touch they are with us customers doing business in the real world. Difficult to see this "new" Order Printer as more than a thinly veiled attempt to squeeze more money out of customers by providing substandard products and service that leave customers in the lurch unless they pony up $$ for a yet another 3rd party app to band-aid Shopify's poor product and service. Do better, Shopify. If we don't say something, they never will.

What a mess! Why replace a perfectly functioning App with a new App that makes no real contribution? All the custom templates I had created have to be redone, the code I had written doesn't work in the new App. I'm very, very disappointed! I will use the previous Order Printer Legacy App as long as I can and I hope that Shopify will intervene and fix this serious damage.

Don't fix what isn't broken. The older Order Printer app works so much better. I don't want this new app, and none of the other Shopify users I know do either. Don't take away the legacy one in August. If you do, we'll just switch to another third-party app that actually works.

Another senseless move by Shopify. Do not touch if it's working! You made it even worse! Variable mapping page does not have the variable SKU!!! Shopify is pushing us towards other options in the market! They are completely deaf to complaints. Why pay 2% for such arrogance?

While Legacy may not have been the excellent this is so much worse. To change anything, even take prices off, add shipping method or order date, requires a change to the code. This is not feasible for many small businesses. If you're going to update make sure it's easy for small businesses to customize. Don't make us pay for 3rd party apps for something we already have. Please make a way to edit without needing to know how to code.

I have used the legacy version for six years. This new change is horrific. Like others, it is impossible to export or copy the exact code into the new version and it be the exact template. I do not have hours and hours to filter through the html coding to figure out what in the world is going on. And, no, I am not interested in paying an enormous fee each month simply to print invoices or packing slips. Just shameful.

This app is horrible! No options to edit easily, no nice features at all. The current Printer App works perfectly why change? We pay Shopify enough money each month which should include options print orders and Tax invoices ect. I tried copy and paste my template (Which I Paid good money for) it's not working at all on this new app! Please just keep the Order Printer app we have always had! NOT HAPPY

Dear Shopify team, we were expecting that new version will be bug-free, however we still have issues, like, subtotal amount is displayed incorrectly, tip is not shown in line items, SKU is missing, order placed date instead of today's date, etc. Very disappointing...

Very disappointing "update". The nature of our production workflow depends on an ever changing and highly customizable order printer template - And while the legacy app is by no means perfect, I was always able to achieve whatever customization I had set out to accomplish - So when I saw the message that Shopify was sunsetting the old order printer app and migrating to this new one, I had high hopes that they would improve upon the already solid foundation that was the legacy app. I expected, at minimum, quality of life improvements, and was hopeful for some new features. Instead what I got was an app that is objectively worse in every regard. I say this with no exaggeration or hyperbole: I have yet to find a single thing the new app does better than the legacy app - And worse, there are many cases where the new app does not support some functionality that the legacy app had for years. This is simply unacceptable when my company and many others not only rely on these functions, but have been using them without issue for many years. Just to name a few: 1. Page breaks - The new app does not seem to support any method of forcing a page break 2. Custom scripts - The legacy app was capable of importing JavaScript libraries and running custom JS functions to perform actions within the template. The new app blocks user scripts and this is no longer possible 3. Float styling - New app does not support styling such as “float: right;” I am not asking for more. I do not need the new app to do anything better than the old - But at bare minimum it needs to support the things that we have all become accustomed to through years of using the old app. And to be clear: I do not mind the liquid object name changes - As an intermediate/ advanced user, it is easy to modify existing variable names to get them to function in the new app and I understand changes like these are sometimes necessary despite the temporary frustration it might cause merchants.

Why did you make it so hard to import existing templates? The Original Order Printer wasn't broken - why fix it? Ok, so fix it, but make it easy for your customers to use it by auto importing our existing templates. This is a nightmare.

What a mess! Shopify constantly changes things for no reason, makes it complicated to adjust to a new app, doesn't provide the same features and usually results into having to pay more!
