Wish it had a bit more flexibility to add other products to the same subscription and the option to delay shipments rather fully pausing or skipping orders.

Very hard to get raw data to see what subscriptions are coming up. Not very user friendly on our end, not fantastic on the users end either

It's frustrating that Shopify Subscriptions doesn't offer better in-app analytics. Key use cases that are missing for us include by-store (physical retail) subscription pickup reporting. Each store struggles to review how by-store subscription pickups will happen in any given period. Additionally, there is little in the way of notification functionality to let us know when a new customers subscribes or cancels. We have to monitor this ourselves. Frankly, I believe this app could be so much more functional if Shopify would invest more in it's own app ecosystem instead of allowing third parties to milk Shopify Pro customers like us for every dollar just to implement a reasonable Wine Club (our store's use case).

First, I have customers who requested a change of address, and I updated it manually. However, the following month, the subscription reverted to the old address, which makes it really hard to manage, especially with many subscribers. I’ve lost a few customers because of this issue. Second, sometimes an order isn’t created, and I only notice it when I check the customer’s subscription page manually. There’s no alert or clear indication of what went wrong. The subscription still shows as active, even when the payment didn’t go through. Third, it would be helpful to have a filter that allows me to sort customers by the day of the month their subscription renews, not just the original subscription date. Fourth, it would also be great to see the full customer list on one page, instead of being limited to 25 per page. Lastly, it would be amazing to offer customers the option to subscribe annually as well.

The app is fine for shops with small inventories with prices that never change, nor ever run promotions. For larger inventories.. let's just say Happy Clicking. You have to click each product individually to add it to a group. Why can't I just add collections? Then, if you are running a short term promotion, when the customer creates the subscription, they keep the promotional price from thereon. If you put your prices up, the subscription price does not change. You have to go in and manually change each contract. I don't want to offer a fixed price to our customers. I am offering a service to make their lives easier so they don't have to visit us every month to place their orders. When our prices change, the subscription price should change. Fixed pricing would only be useful if I could set an expiry date.
Thank you for your feedback!Totally hear you on the need to improve the experience in selecting products. We’ve shared your feedback internally. As for the promotions, I recommend you create a discount in the Shopify admin. When doing so, you can select if it applies to one-time purchases, subscriptions, or both. If you select subscriptions or both, you will see a section at the bottom that allows you to limit the use of the discount on recurring payments for subscriptions. This allows you to limit the discount to only the first order or a set up a maximum number of orders for which the discount can be applied. You can create an automatic discount or a discount code, as you prefer. Hope this helps!

I am looking to use Shopify's own Subscriptions app. Most of my subscriptions are fixed term e.g. once a month for a year. This app doesn't have ability to put in an end date. Very basic.

The setup process is quite straightforward and user-friendly, which we appreciate. However, we have encountered several glitches, particularly with the subscription not updating from a two-month plan to a monthly one for our skincare products. Additionally, the subscription details are only visible in the footer. I have reached out to customer support, and it appears there is a bug affecting this functionality.

Um, it works. Not a lot of customization, options for customers (like change billing/shipping date, add more products, etc) and lacking on analytics and retention capabilities. Best part is - it's free. If you are just getting started its a good app. We've been using it for about 6 months now and probably to the point of needing a more robust app that has more flexibility and features.

Can you make it possible to purchase subscriptions in person through the POS Go machine? It is nice having the option online for customers, but some customers would prefer to start their subscription in person at our store (Dog Daycare).

It's a very basic plug-in subscription app – you get what you pay for. We have quite a few frustrations with it from the back-end, and it's not user-friendly for customers to use on the front-end either. So do your research before you commit, as you may be better paying for a subscription service with more bells and whistles.
