Starshipit shipping automation
Starshipit has received mixed reviews from users. Positive aspects include excellent customer service, easy integration, and helpful onboarding specialists. Users appreciate the app's ability to streamline shipping processes and save time. However, negative feedback revolves around issues with pricing discrepancies, lack of support, technical glitches, and difficulties in multi-location fulfillment. Some users have experienced challenges with setup, billing errors, and unresolved issues with the app. Despite its strengths, Starshipit needs to address these concerns to improve user satisfaction and reliability.
We’ve had a great experience with Starshipit. The onboarding process was smooth and straightforward, and Adam was incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup. He was responsive, knowledgeable and made sure everything was configured correctly and running smoothly. The support has been excellent, and we’re very happy with the platform so far. Highly recommend Starshipit, and a big thank you to Adam for making the onboarding process so easy!
I do not recommend Starshipit. Over two years ago during our initial onboarding call, Starshipit’s team instructed us on how to set up our product weights in Shopify so rates would calculate correctly. We trusted their advice as experts. We recently discovered that their recommended setup caused our international shipping rates to systematically overcharge for over two full years. We have been quoting customers nearly $90 for international shipping instead of the correct ~$34 physical weight rate. Not only did this cause us to overpay thousands in shipping fees, but it severely damaged our business by driving up international cart abandonment rates for two years. When we brought this to their management team, Starshipit deflected responsibility back onto our Shopify settings, the exact settings their own team told us to implement. It has now been 3 days with zero resolution and no compensation for their mistake. To give a business incorrect onboarding setup advice and then not be accountable for their mistake is unacceptable.
Support has been terrible, would not reccomend star shippit at all, i was promised the world when i signed up and told i would only need the $50 a month plan however they then advised me i need the $200 a month plan and i still can barely use the app it doesnt work half the time and checkout rates are always wrong, i cant even get a hold of anyone to get them to sort it out. The staff also use AI to send generic responses when i am seeking help
Hi Canna Fabrication, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience hasn't met your expectations. We take feedback like this seriously and have already reached out to better understand the concerns you've raised and work towards a resolution. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and look forward to the opportunity to assist you.
I've been with Starshipit since 2022 but I'd no longer recommend them. Since the latest Shopify update (six weeks ago), two key functions don't work anymore. Updating a Shopify order no longer updates the Starshipit label so you have to manually update in both platforms, and manifesting orders in Starshipit no longer fulfils all line items in Shopify if they don't match. These workarounds are time intensive and error prone and Support s response to these problems has been "we acknowledge they're problems, but there's no fix, no ETA on a fix and you just need to manually edit everything yourself". Poor support considering it's not doing what I'm paying for it to do.
We ship over 1000 orders a month through Starshipit, these are the issues that have cost us the most time. There is no way to find an order by scanning a product barcode. We have to manually type in the product SKU to pull up every order, which wastes a huge about of my staffs time and results in errors. We have multiple locations in Shopify, and changing the shipping location on an order is a real problem. When you change or split an order, it can take 10 or more minutes to drop off the old location. In that window it shows in both, and we have ended up shipping several orders twice, once from each location. It does not import the full product details either. Size, colour and so on do not come through, so you are left guessing from the SKU alone. On top of that, it will not stay logged in on mobile or iPad. When we print a packing slip from inside Shopify, it logs us out on every single order. Also, no phone support. Our ability to ship out orders is critical so we need to be able to pick up the phone and get issues resolved immediately. There have been a few issues that have taken hours to sort out which brings our warehouse to a standstill. For a tool this central to our dispatch process, these are basic things that should just work. GoSweetSpot is much better software, and it's free so will be going back to that.
Hi NZ Tack Saddlery Co, thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re really sorry to hear about the disruption these issues have caused your dispatch process. We understand how important reliability is when Starshipit is central to your warehouse workflow. Your feedback around barcode lookup, multi-location fulfilment, product detail visibility, mobile/iPad access, and support has been shared with our product and support teams, who will reach out to you. We’d like the opportunity to review your setup in more detail and work through where things went wrong. Thanks again for taking the time to outline this clearly. Regards, Team Starshipit
