After a few weeks of use, the app suddenly wants more access to sensitive data like customer details or shop orders, etc. So, the app is uninstalled now.

We sincerely apologize that our communication regarding Data Permissions caused you concern back then. We realize that seeing a request for "Customer & Order" data after a few weeks of use can feel sudden if not properly explained. To provide clarity for you and our current community: In July 2025, we were transitioning SendWILL from a simple popup tool into a full Email Marketing & Automation suite. To power essential growth features like Abandoned Cart recovery and Customer Segmentation, Shopify requires these specific permissions so the app can sync lists and trigger automated emails. Since your review, we’ve made transparency our priority: Clearer Onboarding: Our 2026 version now explains the "Why" behind every permission during the initial setup to avoid any surprises. Security Standards: We strictly adhere to Shopify’s latest security protocols, using data only to power your specific automations. While we understand you've likely moved on, we wanted to ensure your concerns were met with a professional explanation. After using it for a couple of days, I'm now asked to give a whole lot more customer and store data (view and edit), in order to continue using it. Other than that: Buggy, hardly works, extremely unprofessional support. Can't really recommend.

Regarding Data Permissions: Back in July 2025, our app was in its early stages and focused purely on popup captures. However, as we prepared to launch our complete Email Marketing & Automation suite, Shopify required broader permissions (like "view and edit customers") so that we could eventually sync your subscriber lists and send automated campaigns directly from the app. Since your review, we’ve made massive leaps: From Popup to Full Email Suite: We’ve now launched full email functionality, which explains the need for those permissions to manage your segments and campaigns. Support Overhaul: We’ve expanded our team to ensure "unprofessional support" is a thing of the past. 2026 Stability Update: The "buggy" early version you experienced has been replaced by a much faster, more stable infrastructure. We understand that we weren't the right fit for you during our early development phase. However, for any merchant reading this today: SendWILL 2026 is a completely different, more powerful platform.
