Awful! Compared to the old version, we've gone from 60-90 clicks a day to 5-7 clicks a day = no sales. Fix it Shopify! Just to update, we went from plenty of orders a day to with the old Google Shopping app to an order every 3-4 days with this new 'improved' one. Switched to the 'Google Shopping Feed' app by another developer at lunchtime and had 3 orders and 50 visits in the same afternoon. Says it all...
Horrible Customer Service - shopify not google - The app makes lots of errors on the feed (not showing the url). Support are bad, the app is bad.
We installed the app - in fact it's not an app anymore but a channel - and it performs as expected. We see our product feed in Google Merchant Center and the shopping ads are running. I don't understand all the 1 star reviews. Perhaps the app is not good for special scenarios, like currencies or complex multivariate products. For us it works.
What the HECK. This new App creates a Google Shopping 'Smart' Campaign but there's nothing smart about not being able to adjust bids or ANY other settings: bids, keywords, location? Wish I hadn't uninstalled the previous app which worked just fine and gave me good control over the Campaign. Shopify you have to get this sorted
Terrible app. Functionality greatly reduced. Our sales dropped massively after downloading this app. Considering deleting the app and getting a third party app or even leaving shopify all together
POS. Does not work. Won't authenticate even with my master account. To top it off support have said that the old app is removed and well, just this is it. Talk about leaving your customer's out to dry. What a shamefully poor customer experience from Shopify. From the result of a clearly flawed development and release system, to a complete lack of thinking about the customer experience and the issues from their (our) perspective. Shame.

Was advised in the email from Shopify to upgrade to this channel as the Google Shopping channel will be closed on October 21. First you have to delete your old Google Shopping App - no chance of getting that back. Tried to install the new Google Shopping Channel, doesn't work, has given me a message "Updating your Merchant Center account..." for the past 24 hours. Shopify support unhelpful - told me to delete and re-install. Did not work. Now I have no Google Shopping feed for my google shopping ads, leading to a drop in sales. What a disaster! Thanks Shopify!
Was sent an email that the old shopping app is to be stopped 31st October so pretty much forced to go onto this. Spent ages trying to set this up only to discover no multi client account support, absolutely ridiculous...shopify you expect me to create a new email/account for each of my stores?! You must understand there are people out there managing hundreds of client accounts for shopify. Also want to add how stupid it is of shopify to force people to switch to such an inferior app that clearly hasn't been tested or shopify staff haven't been trained properly to support it just before Christmas. It doesn't take many brain cells to realise that for retail stores Christmas is probably at least 80% of annual sales (myself included) then to start from scratch with a new feed (if it even works by then) will take a while to kick-in properly on google shopping. Surely someone might have thought after Christmas would have been a much better idea????!!!! NOPE...
It broke my Google Shopping experience. We are forced to upgrade, then it goes ahead and doesn't work. As I use a multi-client Google Merchant Centre this app isn't supported, even though the old one was. I'm literally at a loss as to how this could have happened. At the very least you'd think they'd include the same functionality as the old app.
This app is SO Bad. I regret greatly that i removed the old version of Google Shopping. Shopify is no help either. You can't search for products in Google Shopping app and you can't search for categories. :/
Well, there is definitely plenty of room for app improvement. For instance, better tooltips or links to explain the configuration of google shopping fields.
Google product category doesnt get inserted into generated feeds. Not via Google Shopping app, not via custom generated XML and not via Kit Product feed for Facebook. Tried: {{ GoogleProductCategory | replace: '&', '&' }} {{ product.metafields.google.google_product_type | escape }}
Can't use the app because my store does not "Use a supported currency", i'm currently using COP (Colombian Peso)
Very happy with the install and set up process, I got 90 or so disapproved Items but was able to edit and products were then approved. Small issue that I cannot set a manual CPC on the smart shopping campaign , but I can just pause this in shopify and set up my own campaign in google adwords and have full control over bid strategy. So far so good..
all my products are in Pending and Not Approved, i had change the product info as the app told me, but still NOT APPROVED, i don't know why.
The old app was much better. No search option. No Custom labels via bulk csv
No Canadian support from a Canadian company. I heard a new app is in the works. Can't come fast enough. This is a simple data feed after all.
Not working. Need support for different currency!
Don't use this app. It will submit the highest shipping cost (instead of the lowest) to Google. Your product will cost $25 and it will tell Google the shipping will be $75. Nobody will buy your product when they see you charge $75 for shipping. Shopify really needs to get its act together on this one!
