The app translations were poor at the beginning, until the AI store context feature was implemented. After that, the translations were perfect for around 8–9 months. Now, the translations sometimes work as expected and sometimes they don’t. This is mostly the case with metafield translations — they sometimes ignore the AI store context, and even glossary rules do not help. I am convinced this is a bug in the app, but support claims it is caused by OpenAI ChatGPT 5.4. I find this very hard to believe, because the app is the one feeding the data to the OpenAI API. If I paste the same text directly into ChatGPT, it translates everything correctly. The app currently seems very buggy. Metafield translations are unreliable, both with OpenAI and DeepL Pro, and in their current state they simply cannot be used on a live webshop. It is definitely a frustrating experience for us, and we are investigating our options. And the support is definitely not 24/7. But that is the smallest issue I have.

We are stuck with this app since way back. There are a few big problems with it. 1. For products, translation is malfunctioning. New product will get wrong info when translated (if duplicated from another product). To get around this, we have to make a new translation for all product and replace the old translations. Langshop know this problem, but they wont fix it, they dont care even though we have reported about it many times for 3 years now. 2. Some translations, for example single words that becomes two words in other languages when translated. This words Langshop cant handle together with Shopify. Langshop will add "space" in the translated domains which will make them not function, will give "error 404" page instead of correct page. 3. The free AI translate really is crap. It will make very bad translations, probably to force you to pay for other translations. So BIG WARNING for this app. We are stucked with it and will take so much time and effort to change right now.

Please note that due to the fact LangShop stores translations in the Shopify API, the translations are duplicated as well, as a part of the product. There is no workaround for this, to our regret, and only newly created products won't have their translations stored in the back end. To make your workflow more manageable you could set up automatic translations of new products with Shopify Flow, even if they were duplicated. For example, to start a translation if the product is changed from "Drafted" to "Active". There are restrictions applied to the translation engines which prevent Shopify links from being translated on the storefront. If you are referring to URL handles, the redirection between locales and domains is handled by Shopify, so there should not be any 404 errors. We would be very glad if you provided examples of these broken links so that we can fix the errors if they are caused by LangShop and prevent them from happening in the future. The free LangShop translation engine may indeed provide translations that are not up to everyone's standards, but this is why there are integrated advanced engines, such as OpenAI, Google Cloud and DeepL Pro. We'd like to remind LangShop does not benefit in any way or form from the use of these engines, since they use the API and the account of the user, not our own. Vera was really helpful when we started experiencing a critical issue with our translated menus disappearing across multiple languages. We used LangShop for over a year on our luxury home fragrance store, and I can't recommend it for any business where translation accuracy and SEO actually matter. When we originally left a 1-star review, LangShop offered us 12 months free in exchange for changing it to 5 stars. We accepted, hoping the issues would be resolved over time. They weren't. A year later and the same fundamental problems remain, so here we are again. The core issue is reliability. The glossary feature — which should be the backbone of any translation app — doesn't work consistently. We set specific rules (for example, ensuring "scented candles" always translates to "velas aromáticas" in Spanish) and the app simply doesn't respect them. When we raised this with support, we were told to try a singular glossary entry to see if it catches the plural, or try the plural to see if it catches the singular — but you can't have both entries at the same time. So you're forced to choose between accurately translating "scented candle" or "scented candles," but not both. For any store with product titles, descriptions, and collections all using natural variations of the same terms, this is unworkable. The homepage is a particular problem. If you've added any custom code to your store's design — which most serious Shopify stores do — those elements won't translate through the standard process. You then have to configure dynamic text to cover them, which is additional setup and troubleshooting on top of what you've already paid for. There is always extra work to do. We've spent hundreds of euros on AI translation credits for translations that then don't render correctly on the live site. That's money wasted on a process the app should handle seamlessly. Customer support responds quickly, but the responses are clearly scripted — copy-pasted help articles rather than genuine troubleshooting. For straightforward queries that's fine, but when you have a persistent technical issue, being walked through the same help topics repeatedly doesn't resolve anything. After a full year, we are still not ranking for our target Spanish keywords, which was the entire reason we installed a translation app. We're now migrating to another provider. If you're running a simple store with no custom code and don't care about SEO precision or brand-specific terminology, LangShop may work for you. If translation accuracy is business-critical, look elsewhere.

3年以上使用しています。操作のやり方や簡易な質問には早急に答えてくれて助かっています。 一方、アプリの不具合が多い。 1)「翻訳していないファイル」や「翻訳が中途になっているファイル」を選んでも、正しく表示されない。 2)作ったページのレイアウトが完全に崩壊します。これが一番の問題です。何度も発生しています。 3)問題があると開発に報告が行きますが、対処対応がとても遅い。問題のアプリを書きし続けることに疑問を感じています。 4)翻訳にはDeepLを使用していますが、翻訳内容としては問題ない。しかしレイアウトが壊されたとき標準の翻訳を使うと問題がない。非力な標準翻訳ではほぼ使えません。 5)他のアプリに切り替える検討をしているが、また一から学ぶのが面倒で放置している。
