MIDA Fraud Filter, Bot Blocker

So far so good, we have been getting slammed by unknown bots and straight away appears to be blocking them.

After installing this app the credit card testers started to slow down and then disappear. Gone Gone Gone! Thank goodness! These people were very helpful with the install.

There are plenty of features in this app - I'll focus on the ones I'm using, but worth noting you can also manage access by IP address, regions within a country, ISP, referrer, customer name... Setup was very straightforward, just add a block to you site - the setup process takes you through it. I've set up two sections to address specific problems I was having: Suspicious Bot access and Country access. In my case over 99% of the suspicious bots traffic was from one country - that we don't actually sell into - so I went belt-and-braces and blocked the entire country as well as setting up the Bots configuration. Both were easy to do. For the country blocking you just add a new rule and that's it. For the Bot detection & blocking you can choose which search engine / genuine bots to allow and some other auto-blocking settings that make sense. Really easy to do, and something that I had always assumed that native Shopify would be taking care of this - until I spent some time analysing my search console data and realised that Shopify absolutely doesn't handle this natively! MIDA Fraud IP Blocker fills a great big hole in Shopify's security settings and does it very straightforwardly - you absolutely don't need to be a security expert, or even understand what it's doing, to get it working for you, it's easy to do. Support (Vanessa) has been super helpful and couldn't do enough to help with anything I needed. Great app, recommended.

Liking the app. We had an immediate issue with someone testing credit card numbers and addresses in our checkout (not actually charging) which fell outside the protection of SHOPIFY and Payment Processors, but MIDA provided an umbrella for the whole site that allowed us to limit BOTs, block IP's turn off counties, etc. that just made it harder for them to work, and made us site "undesirable" for the attacks... It was costing us money in shipping calculations and other "usage" fees, so it really helped out!!!

They have excellent customer support with the chat feature, setup is easy once you figure out where all the different menus you need are, and it has helped reduce our bot traffic and fraud orders.
