Excellent experience , so much better than Avalara. Not even close.

Horrendous customer support. I had a time-sensitive filing issue and went nearly a month without a clear answer or resolution. I followed up 5 times and went two full weeks with zero responses on the ticket. Still not resolved. For something as critical as sales tax, this is unacceptable.

Super easy to use, great customer service, and it actually takes the headache out of managing multi-state sales tax. Everything is clear, streamlined, and reliable. It’s one of those tools that just works without constant babysitting.

I would give zero stars if I could. They filed late, filed the incorrect amount, took zero accountability, and then disappeared. Read this whole review if you're considering them - they are huge scam and operate completely out of integrity. I was so excited for this service, because filing sales tax is such a massive pain to deal with as a business owner. But they didn't file my taxes on time, and when they finally did file, it was over a month late and the penalties and interests had piled up. They didn't bother to check what actual amount was due, and instead filed the inaccurate amount from the month before, leaving me with even more penalties and interest. Christian said he would ask his manager about getting the penalties refunded, and then ghosted me. To date I have not heard a proper response from them, a refund for the penalties, or any follow up at all. It's impossible to get support in a timely manner, and when they do respond, it's to give a runaround answer and then never follow through. I am now in the process of deregistering Numeral from my tax account with the state of CA which is also a huge pain. I'm a business owner, and totally understand that things go wrong sometimes! We are all human and make mistakes. I had so much grace for the constant problems, but at this point it's just not good business to stay with this company. They don't care about your experience as a customer, or about the legal ramifications of making a mistake with your taxes. Find a different app and save yourself the headache! Updating my review to include new info: 1. I removed them from our shopify account completely, but when I went to file my Q1 taxes this year, they had ALREADY FILED IT without my permission! They should not even even had access to my account at that point. I've removed them in all ways that I am able, and they are still accessing my information somehow. 2. I commented on their social media, and commented in support of other users who had the same horrific experience that I did, and they deleted all of the comments. They could have easily just responded publicly, but instead they chose to hide our bad experiences and silence anyone who shares how bad their service is. AVOID at all costs.

I tried for two months to setup this app. We had numerous prone conversations. I gave them full admin rights on the store. To no avail. It does not work. I am late with filling the sales tax and I will have to pay penalties. Thanks to Numeral.

Exceptional service for a good price. I;ve been uising Numeral for 3+ years. Their app makes things easy to transfer data. all i have to do each month is approve the filings and pay the fees. support is great and the team is knowledgeable. seriously there isnt a better sales tax option out there.

Numeral is a scam. I signed up in August to find out in January of this year that they had not filed my taxes even for the state I reside in for over 4 months. They will bill you large amounts to "file," but when my CPA looked into it when reconciling EOY it turns out that they had not filed anything for months. They also could not provide me with any reporting log of what they did with account confirmations. Honestly, Numeral should not be allowed to be an app on the Shopify app store at this point.

We are so grateful for Numeral. Sales tax is unbelievably difficult to manage, and Numeral automates the process while keeping me in the loop. It feels so good knowing that they are monitoring our economic nexus, updating our Shopify tax collection settings, and filing on our behalf. Just keep in mind that you still have to review your settings and monitor for changes in physical nexus that Numeral might not be aware of.

I've been using Numerals for a couple of years now. It has been a huge relief on state tax filings. They take care of everything which gives me more time to work on the actual business itself. If you're pushing numbers on Shopify, I highly recommend using Numerals to stay compliant with each state.

Numeral has been an absolute joy to work with after switching from Avalara last year. Their customer service is top notch, I love their platform, and even better they are actually filing our returns (more than I can say for Avalara). I highly recommend their service!

We've been using Numeral for several years now, and it's been great. Sales tax is one of those things you don't want to think about until things go wrong…. and with Numeral, it's just been consistently accurate across filings and 30+ states The support has been helpful and thats the one thing they do supremely well - having someone side by side to guide you along the way. Not only do they deal with all the mail, whenever we've had questions, their team has been extremely responsive and actually try to help…. not just pointing to docs, but making sure things are handled correctly. We've used a number of other solutions in the past and Numeral does extremely well with guided support Numeral has been very reliable for us and I'd recommend them to other brands who need sales tax automation

We started with Numeral in 2024 and have grown to really appreciate their service. They are quick to respond to questions and help resolve issues with States, etc. I am able to approve returns before processing and they provide copies of completed tax returns on the portal.

Numeral has been a breath of fresh air for us! From customer support to tech support, everyone on their team is super knowledgable, friendly and incredibly responsive. If the person we contact can’t solve our issue, they very quickly find us someone who can. They don't just send us links to countless 'help articles', we deal with actual humans on a first name basis. They have never left us ‘hanging’ with an issue. We have tried other sales tax platforms, and Numeral is by far the best!

Numeral has SO simplified our sales tax compliance. The service is extremely valuable. Their support in getting set up was top notch. . . All support people speak English as their primary language and were very willing to get on the phone or zoom and handle everything they could with as little involvement from us as possible. I can't recommend Numeral strongly enough.

We used to work with Avalara and decided to switch to Numeral over a year ago after MANY frustrations. This has been such a good decision. Numeral makes filing in the US sooo much easier, and customer support is on top of everything we send them. It's a no-brainer. 5/5.

We have been using Numeral for all of our state sales tax filings for about 3 years and they’ve been consistently accurate. I used to verify their work myself and it always checked out. Recently when we received a state notice caused by the state’s own delayed processing, Numeral had already handled it and responded to us immediately providing proof the filing was correct and on-time. Reliable, proactive, and exactly what you want in a sales tax partner. Highly recommend.

STAY AWAY!!!! Numeral is the most irresponsible and misleading service I have ever paid for. I paid for twelve months believing my registrations were handled and my tax liabilities were being managed. That is the entire reason you hire a company like this. Instead I was left exposed. Key registrations were not completed, my compliance status was not what I was led to believe, and I received no clear notification that anything was incomplete. No proactive outreach. No urgent warning. No accountability. Just silence while the subscription kept billing. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is the kind of failure that can create real penalties and real risk for a business. If your business depends on staying compliant, you cannot afford a vendor that takes your money and then leaves you to discover gaps on your own. Numeral did not deliver the core service I paid for, and the lack of communication makes it worse. I asked for escalation and a refund because I should not be paying for months of coverage that did not actually exist. Avoid this company unless you want to babysit your compliance and double check everything yourself.
