Notify Me! Back in Stock Alert
All reviews
Won't work for alcohol brands.
They would not let us use their app. What a shame :(
Not impressed with their business model, forcing tiny businesses into $300-400/year payment simply to show when something is low in stock, instead even if I have 999 in stock, it says that.
Hi Woodland Herbal, I appreciate you taking the time to share this. I understand the confusion you ran into. When stores use a high stock value (like 999) for made-to-order products, the Low Stock badge can appear unexpectedly if the inventory threshold isn’t configured the way you intend. The badge and the back-in-stock functionality are separate settings, and the threshold can be adjusted so it only appears when inventory genuinely drops below the level you choose. I saw the conversation you had with support where those settings were shared. If it still didn’t behave the way you needed, I’d be more than happy to personally take another look with you and make sure it’s configured properly for your store. I also hear your feedback around pricing — comments like this are helpful as we continue refining how plans work for businesses of different sizes.
Do not waste your time with this app to find out they have antiquated policies that push political agendas. You are a plug-in, stay in your lane.
Scraps customer emails for itself and hides customer info
Thank you for sharing your concern. We want to address this clearly and directly: Notify Me! does not scrape or collect customer emails for its own use. Customer contact information is processed solely to enable merchant-initiated notification workflows (such as back-in-stock or preorder alerts), and it remains tied to the merchant’s store. We understand how, especially during a short installation or initial setup, certain behaviors or UI limitations can create confusion. Concerns around data handling are serious, and we take them seriously. Our team previously reached out to better understand what you experienced, and we remain available if you’d like to discuss it further. Transparency and merchant trust are fundamental to how we operate. — Notify Me! Team
STAY AWAY.. They trick u into activating different options, and out of nowhere u have to pay a lot of money! We used them for 4 yrs, but now its over, I will recommend EVERYONE, to find another app if u want secure payment, and an app that u can trust..
We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and for the frustration this caused; we sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding. During the migration process to our new planning systems, a banner recommended enabling SMS notifications to help grow your revenue, based on your store’s activity. This banner was designed to give customers the opportunity to review the recommendation and make a clear choice before proceeding. Since the SMS toggle was enabled and you confirmed this setting during the migration, SMS notifications were activated. That said, we completely understand how this may still have felt unexpected, and we’re sorry for the confusion this caused. We would love to have you back and invite you to try our app again. We genuinely appreciate the 4 years you spent using our app, and we’re sorry to see you leave under these circumstances. Your feedback has been taken seriously and is helping us improve how we communicate changes more clearly going forward.
Suddenly they raised the prices. New prices are ridiculous. Will uninstall now.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. We understand that pricing changes — especially after several years of use — can feel abrupt and frustrating. That’s never something we take lightly. Over time, our pricing evolved alongside expanded infrastructure, support, and feature development, but we recognize that the change may not have aligned with every merchant’s expectations. Since then, we’ve continued refining both our feature set and pricing structure based on merchant feedback, including efforts to simplify plans and reduce additional costs around pre-order transactions. We genuinely appreciate the years you spent using Notify Me! and remain available if you’d ever like to revisit the product or discuss your specific case. — Notify Me! Team
This company offered a decent product, but after we were locked in to their system, they raised the prices by hundreds of dollars per month. Unfortunately it is not a simple process to migrate to a new vendor because Shopify imposes an import limit of 1000 records. If you have lots of customers waiting for notifications, you will not be able to migrate. This company was polite, but offered no assistance in dealing with this problem. Notify Me was an expensive, complicated mistake, avoid.
We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this situation must have been. Our goal has always been to provide reliable service with clear communication and transparent pricing. The pricing change you encountered was related to your store being on one of our older legacy annual plans, which functioned differently from our current plans. Our newer plans include additional features such as low stock alerts and wishlists, and we recognize that the transition may not have been communicated as clearly as it should have been. For that, we sincerely apologize. Regarding the Shopify import limit of 1,000 records, we appreciate you highlighting this challenge. Unfortunately, this limitation is imposed by Shopify and is outside of our control. That said, we regret that we weren’t able to assist you further at the time, and we understand how this made migration feel especially difficult. We know how critical back-in-stock notifications are for your business, and we’re sorry that your experience with Notify Me fell short of your expectations. Your feedback has been valuable in helping us improve how we communicate plan changes and support merchants during transitions. If you ever consider giving Notify Me another try, we’d be more than happy to personally assist you to ensure a smooth and transparent experience from start to finish.
Unreliable for Critical Restock We installed Notify Me! to manage restock alerts for our ecommerce store, but unfortunately the experience was very buggy. It took some manual back and forth with their team to get it to work, and when our products were actually restocked, the app failed to recognize the inventory update — it stayed stuck in “out of stock” mode and never triggered the restock notifications. We reached out to support and tried troubleshooting, but the issue remained unresolved for an entire day. For a retail operation, that kind of downtime after a major restock is unacceptable — we put a lot of effort into preparing our drop, only to lose valuable sales and customer trust because the app didn’t function as intended. Support was polite, but ultimately unable to fix the issue in time. I would not recommend this app if you rely on timely and accurate restock notifications to drive revenue.
Thank you for sharing your experience. You’re absolutely right — when a restock is tied to a planned drop or revenue moment, reliability is critical. If notifications fail to trigger or inventory isn’t recognized properly, that directly impacts both sales and customer trust. That’s not something we take lightly. Since your case, we’ve made improvements to how inventory updates are detected and how notification triggers respond to restock events. We’ve also strengthened our internal escalation process to reduce resolution time during revenue-critical moments. We understand that the experience you described didn’t meet expectations at the time, and we appreciate you taking the time to document it clearly. If you ever wish to revisit the product, our team remains available to review your specific setup and ensure everything functions as intended. — Notify Me! Team
Absolute rip off...do not use this app. I got charged 287.00 for two products for less than a week
Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how seeing an unexpected $287 charge can be alarming, especially if it wasn’t clear how the plan was structured at the time of activation. Billing for Notify Me! is processed directly through Shopify based on the selected subscription plan, but clarity around plan type (monthly vs. annual) is critical. In this case, our team reviewed the account and issued a full refund once the concern was raised. We also followed up directly to ensure everything was fully clarified. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and remain available if there are any remaining questions. — Notify Me! Team
Product page made no mention of a 3% fee on pre-orders. We removed our previous tech before installing this one (our mistake!) based on the many positive reviews, only to see we must pay a very hefty monthly fee to get the fees down to 2 or 1% on pre-orders. Misleading product page.
Hi EternaCards, we’re truly sorry for the misunderstanding and frustration this caused. Our goal has always been to provide clear and fair pricing, and we take your feedback very seriously. Based on feedback like yours, we’ve now updated our app listing plan section to clearly display all transaction fees upfront. We’re also continuously working to improve our pricing systems and transparency to make sure this doesn’t happen again. We sincerely hope you’ll consider giving us another chance — we’d love to have you back as a valued customer and show you the improvements we’ve made.
I had high hopes for this because it advertises a nice combo of features and has good ratings… but geez it sucks. The tool is extremely rigid and limited in functionality, and customer support is condescending when simple questions are asked… As soon as you install this app it deploys and ugly out of the box configuration to production. It’s unfair to your brand image and customer experience. You have to be ready to attempt customizing the appearance immediately, otherwise… good luck. Conditional logic is not possible. The Wishlist feature is still in beta and you do not want to waste your time trying to use it. Oh and to top it all off it’s 5x more expensive than all other options out there. Annoying
First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the experience you’ve had with our app. We truly understand your frustration and are sorry that the tool did not meet your expectations. Regarding your request and the limitations you encountered, as we discussed in our chat with you, we’ve forwarded your feedback to our technical team for further review. We’re committed to continuously improving and addressing concerns like yours. As for the Wishlist feature, we’ve made improvements since our last conversation, and we hope it will meet your needs better moving forward. Regarding the pricing, we understand your concerns. When customers pay for a plan, they gain access to all four main widgets: Low Stock, Back in Stock, Preorder, and Wishlist. This combination is designed to maximize revenue recovery and enhance customer experience, which we believe justifies the pricing. We’ve always aimed to provide a service that’s worth the value our customers pay, and we will continue working to ensure that. We take all user feedback into account as we strive to improve, and comments like yours are crucial to helping us get better. Once again, we’re truly sorry for any inconvenience you experienced, and we’re grateful for your honest feedback. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Arbitrary, Discriminatory, and Ideologically Driven Policy I was shocked to see that this app refuses service to stores selling wine, lumping it into the same category as gambling, weapons, and criminal activities. This is not a business decision, it’s an ideological one, as their Terms of Service even ban anything in “sharp conflict with religions.” This raises serious concerns about how much personal beliefs influence their policies. If you sell legal products like wine, be aware that you will be banned, even though many far more questionable products are accepted without issue. A business should be based on logic, not moral policing. I do not recommend this app for anyone looking for fair and consistent service.
We sincerely and wholeheartedly apologize that our policies made you feel this way. We truly regret that your experience with us left you feeling disappointed and frustrated , that is never what we want for anyone in our community. Our Terms of Service are continually reviewed and adjusted to serve our community in the best way possible, and feedback like yours is incredibly important in helping us improve and make thoughtful changes. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. We are truly sorry again for the impact this had on you, and we take your words to heart as we continue to do better.
Ridiculous pricing model. they want to charge 3% transaction fee for pre-orders. Save your money and look elsewhere.
We are very sorry that our pricing left you feeling this way. We always try to offer a service that’s worth what our customers pay, and we never want anyone to feel disappointed. Thank you for sharing this feedback , it truly helps us improve. From the beginning, we’ve tuned our pricing based on customer needs, and we will continue to adjust it to best fit the businesses we serve. Again, we sincerely apologize and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
cant enter maxium preorder units for size variants
Thank you for your valuable feedback! Because of suggestions like yours, we've made significant improvements. Not only have we introduced the maximum limit sale feature for variant-level items, but we've also simplified the entire process of setting preorder limits. We’ve transitioned from the complicated tag-based system to a much more user-friendly and intuitive one. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and are committed to continually improving our platform. If you have any further suggestions or concerns, feel free to reach out!
They do not offer support for stores selling CBD and related products but you most likely will not know that until you install the app, hopefully this will save you some time! Very disappointing.
We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to only learn about this limitation after installing the app. Unfortunately, we were unable to provide our services to your store in accordance with our Terms of Service, which do not currently support stores selling CBD or related products. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused and for not making this clearer up front. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll use it to improve how we communicate these restrictions so others won’t run into the same issue.
Sehr gute App. Kann man weiterempfehlen.. Leider werden die Preise nun derart erhöht, dass ich mir eine andere App suchen werde... Preis-Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht mehr...
Thank you for your honest feedback and for the kind words about the app — we truly appreciate that. We understand that pricing changes, especially after long-term use, can be frustrating. Our goal has always been to continue improving infrastructure, support, and features, but we recognize that value perception matters just as much as functionality. We’re actively working on refining our pricing structure and eliminating certain additional costs (including around pre-order transactions) to make the overall value clearer and more sustainable for merchants. We genuinely appreciate the time you spent using Notify Me!, and if you ever decide to revisit the app in the future, we’d be happy to assist. — Notify Me! Team
They don't disclose before you install that they also charge 3-1% of your preorder revenue, on top of the monthly subscription rate. I'm sure many small businesses aren't aware of this hidden fee. Terrible. Don't be shady, and include in your pricing section.
We’re truly sorry for the frustration this has caused, and we sincerely apologize if the pricing details weren’t as clear as you expected. To clarify, the pre-order transaction fee is transparently listed on our app page in the Shopify App Store pricing section, so merchants can review it before installing and select the plan that best fits their needs. That said, we completely understand how important clarity is, especially for small businesses, and we regret any confusion. Our pricing has always been based on the value our service delivers, and we work hard to ensure it’s worth what our customers pay. Thank you again for sharing your feedback , it helps us continue improving and communicating more clearly.
very helpful customer service! worth splurging for premium EDIT: I was billed after cancelling my plan and downgrading to the free version. I messaged support to confirm I wouldn't be billed but was still charged!! VERY disappointed
We’re very sorry for the confusion and disappointment you experienced. We completely understand how frustrating it must have felt to be charged after downgrading. To clarify, when a plan is downgraded there is no immediate cancellation of the current billing cycle , the downgrade takes effect at the end of that cycle. The charge you received was for the previous cycle you were already on, not a new one. After you reached out, we processed a refund and informed you right away, even following up afterward. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response from your side, but please know our team is always here to assist if you need anything further. We sincerely apologize again for the confusion and will continue working to make our billing process clearer for all users. Thank you for sharing your feedback, as it helps us improve.
If I could give this app zero stars, I would. When I first installed the app, the submission box had excessive white space and despite my best efforts, I could not troubleshoot on my own though I spent about a couple hours attempting to do so using custom code. I finally reached out to support. Support informed me that "we are not able to service your store according to our terms of service, due to the type of products you are selling." The "types of products" that my store sells are merchandise with a liquor license pending to sell wine but okay. Huge waste of time. Uninstalled and found a much better experience by using "Alert Me! Restock Alerts." Their product actually functions out of the box so that's a win.
Hello Brian, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. I empathize with you because we didn't let you know about the restrictions at the time of installations and you have every right to write this review. Our team has reached out to you and hope you will choose to reply to our emails. Product restrictions is based on our terms of service (Found here: https://www.hengam.io/terms-of-use/) which has many mutual product restrictions with apps like Shopify markets. A major reason for this is if our SMS restock notifications include certain keywords, our SMS messages may face delivery issues on some operators and countries which may hurt many other Shopify stores using our app. We understand the frustration and will work on making our guidelines clearer within the app and letting stores know whether they will be unable to use the product at the start. About the issue regarding white space, every store is different and we customize the designs for each store with a click of the button to match your theme. Unfortunately in your case, our customer success representative couldn't help as your store was not within our terms of use. We're glad you found a solution that fits your needs. Thank you for your feedback, and we wish you success with your store. Zara, Customer Sucess Lead
