I am very unimpressed with BOLD. Their customer service is lacking and they don't seem to understand their product. When I emailed for support I received numerous responses from numerous reps, they seem extremely unorganized. In the end, my issue wasn't resolved. This app is apparently unable to do exactly what it is meant for (exporting data), we are looking for alternative apps than shopify because of BOLD. Wouldn't recommend.

This is the second apps I installed from BOLD, and it was a disappointed all over again. The support is so damn slow until now the export from Shopify to Quickbooks was failed all the time. Lack of support team that replying to me without reading my previous comment very unpleasant. They're like to drag the case into a long period and till now, it never settled. Not recommended apps & company, period.

This app is not reliable. There are quite often errors in the automatic Shopify data import functionality and you have to keep an eye on the app. If an automatic import fails, it's not said that the manual one will work despite trying dozens of times. Sometimes it does after several tries. A really good app when it works, but I'll have to look for alternatives because of lack of reliability.

Alexa was AWESOME! We had a problem with the app not exporting our refunds and coming up with an error message via email. Contacted Shopify and got directed to Alexa who made sure that their tech support fixed the software bug (all in under 24 hours!). All we had to do was run the export again and the refunds showed up in our QuickBooks. Super pleased with how well this app is working for us by making it so much easier for our accountant to understand the transactions coming in from our website sales. And, the support we receive is beyond what we expected when we switched our website platform to Shopify and synced it with QuickBooks. Thank you - this is the way it should be . . . problem-solution-quickly!

This app does not sync refund transactions, so if you have a customer that buys a product, the sales gets recorded as a sales receipt correctly, but they cancel their order and you refund, that information does not get transmitted to quickbooks. The app claims they do this, but they don't. We realized this after thousands of transactions had gone through, and now we've had to spend hundreds of dollars with an accountant to estimate a solution that works. I highly recommend not getting this app and recording your payouts as sales instead

We already pay for both Shopify and Quickbooks - the introduction of a monthly fee moving forward will see me removing this app and entering data manually. It even has me questioning whether to stay with Quickbooks or move to Xero which does not have a fee to transfer the data - so not only are the developers losing clients themselves, but this could have a negative impact on Quickbooks itself. I can see a lot of clients leaving and switching accounting packages because of this.

We appreciate the functionality of the "FREE" tier of this app so far with keeping our books accurate to the payouts. As we continue to expand and orders increase - having to pay a monthly fee on top of everything (even as a paying Quickbooks Online customer) - and depending on what that volume is - is frustrating. I do consider those fees accommodating for the continual improvement, monitoring and support for this app independently as it provides "as-needed" functionality per business that I assume Quickbooks themselves do not have to deal with. I can't punish Bold Apps for that. I can wish there was a more thorough integration between the two (like connecting clients and customers viewable through the Shopify admin side - like the Insightly/Quickbooks integration - and viewing invoices or sales receipts that coordinate to that customer).

ABSOLUTE SCAM. Was originally advertised as a free service to sync from shopify to quickbooks. Now they are charging MORE than what it costs to have quickbooks every month. Absolute scam. Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointing. Similar problem that others have had re taxes. Import fails then no instructions on manual import. Not worth the money and a poorly developed product.

The only reason I'm giving this two stars (and not one) is that the product seems to work ok. It is still buggy on many items and we will see how buggy it ends up once I now have to start paying for exports and there is more information that will be moved from Shopify to QuickBooks Online. Like many others I'm also disappointed to now have to pay a fee when I'm already paying a fee to both Shopify and QuickBooks Online. I already have to manually enter many items that "Error" out on export. If you want to charge for an item it better work damn near flawlessly instead of having to manually enter sales every month. Never has it properly exported all transactions in a month. It also appears I won't get the "free" upgrade until August because all they sent was an email notification and I did not notice they were going to start charging because I only integrate sales once a month and just noticed the notification at the top of Shopify today and then found the email buried in between thousands of others I get. They should have given more than about three weeks notification on the Shopify integration page. Proof of crappy customer service and communication. Update 6/9/18 - I'm bumping my original two star review to three because the customer service did follow up and get us a free trial. I will also say that the program does work overall fairly well. There is still a few issues that would be nice if the would work out. However, no matter what I have trouble swallowing an additional fee that we will eventually have to pay when the free trial period runs out. Having to pay for Shopify, QuickBooks, and this App is a bit on the steep side. I would try Xero except I see Bold operates that integration app between Shopify and Zero also so I'm sure once that becomes popular enough Bold will be charging for that one too...

I've been holding off writing this review hoping the support team would sort the problem out but no such luck. So I have to say don't buy this app its a waste of time if you are VAT registered as it doesn't work! Before we went VAT reg all was fine and every night the sales from Shopify would be sucked into QB and a invoice created. Once we click the 'All Taxes are included in prices' option the link was broke and we get the same error message every night 'You must select a product/service or an account for each split line with either an amount or a billable customer.' So now I have to manually put every invoice into QB. Ball ache and time consuming.

Awfully disappointed that we are being forced to pay for this integration. As another seller noted, we already pay Shopify and QB separately for their services. Now, without any warning Bold has taken over, and it is forcing us to pay $30 a month for merely passing on the transactions. Of course Shopify is no bystander. They can now enjoy payment for a function which should have been native to the platform. Feels like extortion.

Super frustrated that the minimum for a "free" account is 30 orders a month. I get you need to charge for a service that needs to be maintained, but more apps with a fee to add to my shopify store. Great....

I'm too disappointed to pay yet another monthly fee. Like it wasn't enough to pay Shopify and QuickBooks, now I have to pay to sync data between two. I think it's time to look somewhere else for more affordable solutions.

very disappointed and frustrated that I not only pay shopify and quickbooks online per month for my business but NOW will have to pay at least $10 a month for a simple AUTOMATED sync between my shop and my accounting. thanks, but no thanks to their new special features they are trying to pass off as a perk of this "upgrade". There should be at least a grandfather claus with their current users, you can't NOW add additional fees for something that has been free for yrs. that is just bad, BAD business. As a small business, every monthly fee matters and adds up quickly. I will be looking elsewhere for my accounting software needs, and will NOT support any other apps managed by BOLD.

Update: Heard back from Customer service. They made good and answered questions and made proper corrections. They promised that neither I nor anyone else would have to go through what I did. I always like the product and still do. Hopefully, it will be worth the monthly fee. I have amended my review from one star to three. But I made them wait for two weeks before I changed it. But I am a man of my word. they held up their end so I will do the same. WORST customer service ever! AND now they want to charge $30 for their terrible customer service! 2 weeks of trying to get SOMEONE to call me back and I get are Emails saying they do not have time to call back!! See my most recent ticket number below!! I have to make an appointment to ask a simple billing question!!! AND no one is available until 3/19!! Apparently, I am not the only customer upset about the bait and switch tactics used to get us attached to this program. Too bad I used to like this app a lot. Request 245241 has been updated! Did not work with my version of Quickbooks. (Self Employed, online version). Had this been specified before hand, I would have never tried to install this app. When I contacted customer service because I was unable to get it set up, they let me know that it would not work and I was told that I would not be charged since I couldn't use the app. However, I got my bill today and I was in fact charged for it, an app that I could not use at all. Would like a refund. Normally this is a great company. I just wish this information had been known beforehand, and I would not be charged for something I could not use or even set up. Especially since customer service said that I would not be charged.

Paul was a great help on our call today and was finally able to fix integration issues between Shopify and quickbooks. I highly recommend his expertise.
