This is what makes OOTSB great! It's not a 100% one click and done update, unless you haven't customized the theme and have no apps installed. OOTSB is upfront about this, so there were no surprises when it listed one file it couldn't update. The updated files don't drastically change, so finding where to add back any custom code is rather quick. The only time consuming task was updating between Turbo 1.0 to 2.0. The update didn't carry over many of my settings in the "customize" theme settings. I ended up opening two Shopify admin windows and copying over each setting to the updated theme. You won't run into this problem during minor updates (Turbo 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, ...) , but only during major updates (Turbo 1.0, 2.0, ...). Again, OOTSB is upfront about this.

Works great as designed most of the time. You might find that some apps, judge.me or easy tabs, require you to click an install button again to request some code to be entered. But as far as saving you the hassle of entering all your theme settings every time you update the theme, this does that for you, saves me about 2 hours of work each time which is well worth the price. And their customer service is quick to respond.

Worked perfectly for me on my Turbo theme update. Great app. What a time saver! This app is one of the reasons I went with Out of the Sandbox for my theme.

Since by default Shopify provide no automatic (or manual) way to run updates on your installed theme, this theme updater app by Out of the Sandbox is a godsend. We have used it 3 times to upgrade our Responsive theme and LOVE it. When you run the app, the update is installed as a new unpublished theme - so you have ample opportunity to ensure everything is A-OK before publishing. You will find that there are tweaks to be made after the update, you will not get a 100% match, however the alternative (without the app) is hours and hours of manual work to re-set your store settings. In our experience the app has undergone substantial improvements since we first used it. With our last run (26th October 2017, upgrading to Responsive 6.2.2), we had very little re-work to do. Languages changes did not come across, our footer and home page needed a few tweaks, that was about it, we were published within an hour!

Great app and we are really glad to have this available for our Parallax theme. Unfortunately, upgrades and how to get them installed were not on my roadmap when I was shopping for a theme. I cannot believe that we overlooked such an important feature. Out of the Sandbox themes are incredible for all the fine details they offer with so many large and small touches that other themes would require hiring a developer. With OOS they are standard with customer service second to none. So we love our theme, but then realized we really needed to upgrade our Parallax 2.4 to the new 3+ versions with added features. Enter the Theme Updater...what a time saver and it worked incredibly well. We had just a couple custom items we needed to redo, but now that we are on 3+ this should not be an issue again. This truly is an invaluable product and it's free! Kudos to Out of the Sandbox for helping its customers.

So far this has worked pretty well with our heavily customized Turbo 2.1 Update. We had extensive customization in a few files but they were easily fixed by hand. Will definitely continue using.

This app works perfectly! Carries over customizations perfectly. We have updated twice since installing and have had no problems at all.

This app is the next step in the world domination by Out of the Sandbox. Why do I say this? Well, to start, they have the very best themes. I've owned two. Second, they have the very best support. Patient, informative, and helpful. Now, the Theme Updater app solves the single biggest problem for those of us who dig into the CSS and Liquid to modify our themes: It automatically preseves your code changes. The fact that there's a theme updater app in the first place is pretty darned amazing. But I've tried it, and it really works. This app preserves your code changes when updating. (when "updating", it really just downloads an updated copy to your dashboard, so you can double check that all is OK before publishing) Knowing all this, there's really no reason not to get an OOTSB theme. Great work!

Theme updates are one of the largest development task requests we receive, not only is it a large costly task it is meticulous and requires thorough checking and testing to ensure the updates are done correctly and without issues. To be honest, our theme update service is not a job we enjoy doing but realise the value and importance of updates to store owners, we offer this service as we are OOTS partners and also realise the importance to help them. The ground-breaking new functionality of this app which allows you to bring over customizations to your up to date theme is incredible, to say the least, and is something that now further widens the gap between OOTS and other theme providers. In order to take advantage of the new functionality you will need to be on Turbo 2.0+, Parallax 3.0+, Retina 4.0+, Mobilia 5.0+ or Responsive 6.0+ Congratulations OOTS, we are actually happy that our theme update service will become obsolete. Makes life easier with this app. Definitely recommended if you use Out of the Sandbox themes. Although you need to be aware that any custom installations/modifications of the html code will be removed if you update. So make sure to save and compare.

The Theme Update worked very well. I had postponed updating my theme because I was worried about the time involved. When Theme Update launched, I went ahead. It only took me a few hours to update my theme, and that included a lot of tinkering beyond just the update.
