The app definitely teaches you a lot about SEO. You still need to enter everything yourself, it's not going to do it for you- as it shouldn't, but it's very helpful with letting you know when you're doing something right- or wrong. I had a few questions, and "Sid" of the support team got back to me in great detail, with screenshots etc. I like it when support is that thorough, and not just with a few sentences.

this is a review of the app for use and for customer service both are fantastic! I am yet to see if the fruits of the work put in to making my site more search friendly, but i am optimistic. Thank you

Before installing this app, I read the reviews. The common theme amongst the 3-star and lower reviews were issues with theme changes. Our experience wasn't much different. Let me say the support team has been incredibly responsive to my questions and support requests. If it were simply a matter of the helpfulness of the people at Yoast, we would have kept the app. Unfortunately though, our custom theme is such that every time we made a change, something kept Yoast from functioning as it should. It became a 'tail wagging the dog' situation that required too much time and effort to manage. I have Yoast for WordPress and LOVE IT. They definitely know what they're doing with SEO, but unfortunately, it isn't a good fit for my Shopify store.
UPDATE: We'd like to inform you (and anyone reading this review) that as of May 16th, 2023, our app offers the option to be installed without removing conflicting code. As a result, our app does not modify your theme code the same way as before, and though that reduces the benefits of using our app (no Yoast output in the source), it also allows you to use the Yoast SEO analysis options for content optimization regardless if our app is integrated with your theme or not. Therefore, if you wish you can use our app for content optimization only, without full theme integration. Thank you for sharing your feedback, we sincerely appreciate it. To your point about the common theme among the 3-star and lower reviews, it’s important to note that almost all eight of those (except for one in April ‘22) were shared in the first 3 months after we launched the app in January '22. This is because after launching the app there were a few issues that our dev team had to address. Since then we have continued working hard to successfully and consistently earn 5-star reviews. We do understand that there is an issue with our app and the custom theme changes on your store that is taking too much time and effort to manage. We respect your decision that the Yoast SEO for Shopify app is not a good fit for your store, but please keep in mind that we are always developing and improving it. Simply the best app for SEO with an amazing extra that is the SEO Academy. By following their tutorials, in a few weeks I got incredible results on Google. Moreover the Yoast SEO support is definitely one of the best I ever experienced. Highly recommended.

I use Yoast for optimising content. Yoast provides easy steps to increase SEO for all pages. I like the easy integration, support and the wealth of information available... The app is amazing and easy to use. The tech support is second to none. They go out of their way to answer all your questions superbly.

Yoast is great other than whenever i'm typing the descriptions it will sometimes randomly delete or move letters throughout the paragraph.

Hi there, thank you for your question. We have a dedicated support team that can be reached 24/7 at [email protected] (and via live chat). Please do reach out to us with any additional questions or concerns, we are happy to help. That being said, leftover code usually remains if the app is uninstalled without completing the right process, which requires first deactivation of the app to remove theme modifications and then deletion of the app. Or if another (usually SEO-related) app interfered with the process. If you haven't already, please reference our page with Yoast SEO app uninstall instructions: https://yoast.com/help/remove-yoast-code-from-theme-in-shopify/ Here are next troubleshooting steps to take: 1. Re-install the Yoast SEO app on your site. 2. Instead of "Get a subscription," click on "Remove theme modifications.". Please wait until the process is finished. 3. Click on Go back to Apps and then Remove the app again. Once you've done this, the Yoast SEO code should be completely removed. In case you have another SEO app installed, it would be best to remove that first before proceeding with the steps above, as other SEO apps may interfere with the proper uninstallation process of Yoast SEO. This app helps me stay on track, write clearly, and organize my content for both search engines and my visitors. I've used the wordpress plugin for a long time and I'm happy to have it over on Shopify too!

I downloaded the app to my Shopify account…..I knew nothing about how to set it up….luckily they have a service where you can get a guy from Yoast who contacted me and walked me through the whole setup process….he was very good…knowledgeable, patient and very qualified….I feel much more confident and happy about downloading Yoast for Shopify now…..the backup is fantastic….

"How shall I manage to improve my SEO - I know nothing about it?" So I Googled and found Yoast SEO. Once entering the App I almost gave up, scared of doing wrong. Than I started to chat...! I got the most wonderful support!! I am now up and running improving my website! Thankyou Yoast SEO!
