We made the move to Attentive expecting an initial guided walkthrough and hands on support, but that hasn’t been my experience so far. I was billed for 21,000 messages that I did not send, and despite reaching out multiple times, I haven’t been given a clear explanation of where those messages came from. I keep getting transferred between teams and sent help articles that don’t actually answer my questions. I’m simply looking for clarity and direction. What was promised for billing has not aligned with what I’m seeing. I understand transitions can be confusing, but this has been more difficult than expected. Much of what I thought would be supported, including setting up flows and getting email and SMS working properly, has ended up being something I’ve had to figure out on my own. I’m still confused. If you have the time to research, troubleshoot, and figure things out independently, this may be a great app for you. However, if you’re like me and made the move based on the promise of hands on support, I would approach with caution.

I would avoid Attentive unless you have never used Klaviyo for email. The sales rep way overpromised and underdelivered. She insisted they never want to have an unhappy customer, and even though we have a contract, they would work with us on an exit if we were unsuccessful. Their SMS services are great. But the email side of things is subpar from Klaviyo. Not to mention, we lost around 10% of our subscribers in a mere 3 months. I have no idea how. Anyway, to boot, you have zero control over your subscription; they try to handcuff you so you won't leave. There is no subscription area on their platform, no invoice history, nothing!! If you want something, you reach out to support and wait. There is a reason Klaviyo is easy to cancel, because they know people will come back when they experience other providers. Especially this one.

Billing transparency is equal 0. For some weird reason one can not see detailed billing or find exact cost for anything in the account home. Billing invoices are emailed from another system, instead of being visible in the account, no billing history ... nothing. When I think better that must be intentional. Of course, prices might be somewhere in the contract, but who looks at the contracts. Also revenue contributed to the app is incorrect, overestimated. We have lot of revenue from new customers, and of course new customers subscribe to SMS ... attentive attributes every new purchase to the attentive generated revenue.
