Hi Brandon, We’re sorry to see that your experience with Booster SEO did not meet your expectations but thank you for sharing your feedback. After reviewing our records, it appears you did not have an opportunity to discuss any issues with our support team, and we only had a brief interaction regarding an inquiry about keyword suggestions. We’d genuinely like to understand what went wrong, what we could have done better, and we can do right now to help your business. We’ve sent you an email so we can discuss your experience directly and work with you on how we can make this right. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully providing a better experience. Best regards, Lester Booster SEO Tier 2 Support
Strongly recommend avoiding this app if you use Shopify Markets or care about your SEO. The app does not clearly explain that it is not properly designed for a multi-market setup, and the way it modifies theme code can create serious problems. In our case, after uninstalling the app, it left behind code overrides that continued interfering with Shopify’s native SEO. Worse, the uninstall did not properly restore the original theme code. Our native page titles and meta descriptions had been commented out, which caused major SEO issues across product pages, collection pages, and other parts of the site. Titles were no longer being handled correctly, and in some cases URLs were effectively being used where proper titles should have been. We had to manually go into the Shopify theme code, disable the leftover Booster SEO include, and remove the comment tags around Shopify’s original title and meta-description code just to get the store functioning normally again. An app should never leave behind code that continues to override critical SEO settings after it has been uninstalled. At the very least, the developer should clearly warn merchants about this behavior and provide a proper cleanup process. If you use Shopify Markets, multiple countries, languages, or domains, be extremely careful with this app. Uninstalling it does not necessarily undo the changes it made.
Hi there, We’re saddened to hear about your experience and to see that it led to this review. We completely understand your frustration regarding missing titles and leftover settings, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. After reviewing your account, we confirmed that the missing page titles were caused by original theme title tags remaining commented out after the app was uninstalled. Due to Shopify API restrictions upon uninstallation, Shopify does not allow apps to automatically restore original theme code. Regarding the booster_apps_seo.config entry in Translate & Adapt, this is a cached database field retained on Shopify's side; once our Liquid files are removed from your theme, it is completely inactive and does not block localized translations. Furthermore, our dev team recently deployed an update to our integration so Booster defers to Translate & Adapt translations across non-primary markets and 22 languages. We know this doesn’t change the frustration you experienced while troubleshooting, and we appreciate you bringing these details to our attention. Our team is actively standing by to perform a full manual theme cleanup across all 7 of your stores and restore your native theme structure as soon as collaborator access is granted. We've also sent you an email to further discuss the next steps and coordinate the cleanup. Cheers, Pat
It's not ideal if you have markets in different languages. There needs to be a way to adjust the SEO, for example, the titles, etc., to be adapted to each market in language and not just be based off of the primary language or market.
Hi there, Darrel here, from Booster SEO Support. I just saw your review and wanted to reach out to apologize for the issue you encountered. I understand that the app is unable to translate the meta tags to the selected language of your site. I reviewed the issue, and I can see that the app is able to adapt or translate the meta tags to whatever language is selected on your site. Just to clarify, the app doesn't have its own translation, but it should follow whatever language is displayed on the site itself. The app works fine and displays the meta tags in whatever language is selected on the home, product, and collection pages of your site, and it looks like it is only not working on your blog pages. We'd be happy to look further into this and escalate it to our devs if needed. In order to do that, we’ll need collaborator access to your shop, so we’ve sent you a collaborator request to your Shopify admin. We've sent you an email regarding the collab request, and we will wait for your response there so that we can proceed with the investigation. Regards, Darrel
didnt do anyting for me
Hi there, We’re sorry to hear about your experience with Booster SEO and to see that it led to this review. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when AutoPilot does not appear to apply the expected optimizations, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. When you contacted our support team, you mentioned multiple stores. To investigate properly, our Tier 2 team asked you to confirm which specific store was affected and whether you had clicked “Run Optimizer” after enabling AutoPilot. This information was necessary to identify the correct store, review its configuration, and send a collaborator request if further access was required. Our team also sent a follow-up, but unfortunately, we did not receive the requested information and were unable to complete the investigation. We have since reviewed the available optimization records and confirmed that the app has processed title tags, meta descriptions, and image alt texts. However, we understand that you may still have specific pages or images that are not updating as expected, and we would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to examine those examples and resolve any remaining concerns. We’ve sent you another email to continue the conversation. Please reply with the affected store and a few examples of the pages or images that still require attention, and our Tier 2 team will prioritize the investigation. Cheers, Pat
Hi there, We’re sorry to hear about your experience with Booster SEO and to see that it led to this review. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when you’re unable to access the audit details you need, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. When you reached out to our support team about the issue where clicking “View Details” wasn’t redirecting you to the audit details, we wanted to investigate this properly and determine what was causing the issue. We sent a collaborator access request to your Shopify admin so our team could access your store, reproduce the issue, and troubleshoot it directly. We’ve checked the status of the request, and the collaborator request is still showing as pending on our end. As we haven’t received confirmation that access was accepted, we unfortunately haven’t been able to access your store and investigate the issue further. We’d still really appreciate the opportunity to look into this and make things right. If you’re still experiencing the issue, please reply to our email or accept the pending collaborator request, and our Tier 2 team will be happy to continue the investigation and work with you toward a resolution. We’ve also sent you an email to further discuss the issue and next steps. Cheers, Pat
True review of the app, I have had it installed since July 2022. It has always been temperamental and was never sure it was really working. Since they updated the AI, it's been unstable. Over half of my products (883) show a long title error, such as [example of a long title], which affects my listings. When I open the app, they all show up fine and are within the 60-character limit. I have 331 images with no alt text, but again, they all show in the app with a title and fine. The past four months have been challenging; they've said they are fixing it, but it hasn't happened. Alternatively, they could resync the products, which would wipe out the data we entered, and use their AI info, which isn't very accurate and usually has errors we have to fix manually, like [specific error examples]. I've requested a refund of [specific amount] or a credit to my account for the unresolved issues and broken features. The response I received was that we'll try to fix it; however, you've had four months to address it. Just saying it is fixed, then I research those pages, and they are still broken, or new pages have issues since they resynced the app. When they resync the app, the problem moves to another product, so you're chasing it. When you contact support, they often resync without asking, which can hide the problem. I will update this review when I get a refund for my unused balance and a credit on my account! The last thing I want to do right now is start all over with another app, but it is clear I am wasting money and losing sales on this one.
Hi there, We’re saddened to hear about your experience and to see that it led to this review. We completely understand your frustration, especially after relying on the app for several years and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. After reviewing your store, we confirmed that the recent AI generation issue was caused by a temporary issue with our OpenAI integration that only began within the last day, and our engineering team is already working on a fix. We also reviewed the other concerns you raised regarding Bing and Google Webmaster Tools. Many of the reported warnings, such as HTTP warnings, missing alt text on theme assets, long titles, and H1 notices, are informational reports generated by those platforms and are not necessarily an indication that the app has failed to optimize your store, as they do not take into account the purpose or context of the pages being analyzed. We’ve provided a more detailed explanation of these reports in our previous message. That said, if you could provide a few sample URLs for each type of warning, I'd be happy to review them individually and provide a more detailed explanation of what each report is referring to specifically. Additionally, we checked your Google Search Console data and confirmed that your store continues to show healthy growth in search impressions over recent weeks, indicating that Google is continuing to crawl and surface your content in search results. We know this doesn’t change the fact that you’ve experienced issues in the past few months, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Our intention has never been to hide problems by running re-syncs, but rather to apply the safest troubleshooting steps available while we investigated the underlying cause. Your feedback has also helped us identify and escalate issues that have now been fixed by our engineering team; and one that is still currently being worked on. We've also sent you an email to further discuss the next steps. Cheers, Darrel
Practically, it is not working. Even after 4 days, it still showed that the analysis of my store was in progress, and most of the features were still not active. Even after talking with support, nothing changed — it was just a waste of time.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear that your experience with Booster SEO has been frustrating. I wanted to clarify that the behavior you encountered was related to the initial product data import and synchronization process that takes place before certain features can become fully available. For larger stores, this process can take longer than expected, which can make it appear as though features are not active even while the setup is still running in the background. I completely understand how waiting several days without seeing the functionality you expected could be disappointing, and I’m sorry for any confusion this may have caused. I’ve sent you a direct email so we can discuss your specific case in more detail and continue working toward a resolution. Best regards, Lester
Don't waste your money like I did. Paid for this for over 6 months. Better and cheaper apps else where. They try to keep you paying by saying they will delete all the fixes if you delete it.
Hi there, Thank you for your honest feedback, and I’m sorry to hear that your experience with Booster SEO has been disappointing. I wanted to clarify that when Booster SEO is uninstalled, app-managed SEO changes such as meta tags, structured data, and other app-specific optimizations are removed because Shopify apps generally cannot leave behind app-managed SEO code after removal, and doing so could create conflicts with future apps or outdated SEO settings over time. This is standard practice across most SEO apps on Shopify, and was never intended as a way to force continued billing. The only changes that remain are image alt texts and URL redirects, as these are stored directly within Shopify and are far less likely to create conflicts later on. I understand how this may have come across, and I’m sorry if this was not explained clearly enough. I’ve also sent you a direct email so we can discuss this further and hopefully make things right for you. Best regards, Lester
I never leave bad reviews. But upon relying on this service, my site fell apart. The automatic AI reviews said the entirely wrong things - saying my fashion e-commerce store sold fishing tackle. Was entirely different product. And mentioned different brands and categories.
Hi Shannon, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and for bringing this to our attention. I have personally conducted a full audit of your store and I can confirm that everything is now working correctly as those incorrect tags have been purged. Technically, our AI experienced a rare logic error—a type of hallucination that can sometimes occur even with advanced models—which is why we provide a "Regenerate with AI" option to allow for manual refreshes when the first pass isn't perfect. This is the first time we’ve seen this specific conflict, and we have already updated our filters to ensure these irrelevant terms cannot be generated for your store again. I've already sent you an email so we can chat more about the technical steps we've taken and how we can support you properly to turn this experience around. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Tier 2 Support
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I took a look at our records and noticed the app was only installed for about an hour yesterday. We did see your message about verifying priority servers, but since the app was uninstalled shortly after, it didn't really get the chance to run its optimizations or show you what it can do for your store's SEO. We’re genuinely sorry that your first impression led to this rating during such a short window. I've already sent you an email so we can chat more about what happened and see if there were any specific issues we can help resolve. We’d truly appreciate the opportunity to support you properly and turn this experience around. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Best regards, Pat
The system is terrible and the support is awful. They promise the world and underdeliver. I cancelled during the trial and still got charged and now they won't respond to messages. Avoid downloading this app because it does more harm than good! The auto pilot changed good meta titles, descriptions and URL's and made them so basic it was like a 6 year old had done it. The auto pilot was also making a lot of my products NOINDEX so they weren't showing in search results. In the end i had to disable a lot of the features and then delete the app. The amount of time i have had to spend sorting out the issues this app created is extensive- not worth it.
Hi there, We’re very sorry for the experience you had. The issues you encountered were related to a recent update that affected a small number of stores, and we completely understand how frustrating that must have been. To clarify, the “noindex” concern was a display issue within the app’s SEO Audit section only and was never applied to your live pages or source code. That said, we understand how alarming that appeared, which is why we treated this as urgent and this has now been fully resolved. We’ve also recently made improvements to our AI optimizations to address the behavior you described. We’ve reached out to you via email so we can work with you directly and help resolve any remaining concerns. We’d really appreciate the opportunity to make this right. Best regards, Lester Booster SEO Team
We paid for Booster SEO for 8 months thinking our SEO templates (image alt text, meta titles, meta descriptions) were working. The app constantly showed everything as “100% optimized,” but after investigating we realized none of the changes were actually being applied to our store. Our product images had no alt text, and the meta tags we thought were active were never pushed to the frontend. Essentially, we were paying for months for something that wasn’t working at all. After uninstalling the app and contacting support, they refunded only one month. Unfortunately, that doesn’t come close to covering the time and money lost. Very disappointing experience.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. First of all, I sincerely apologize for the confusion you experienced. After reviewing your case more carefully with our team, we found that the issue appears to be related to the image file name when downloading images, which is separate from the image alt text used for SEO purposes. The alt text template configured in the app is correctly applied and visible to search engines. We also completed a technical audit of your storefront and confirmed that the meta titles and descriptions generated by the app are correctly injecting into your site’s code. If older metadata is still appearing in your browser tab, it is most likely due to browser or CDN caching, which can temporarily display outdated information. It could also be related to custom code from your theme or another app. We’ve sent you an email so we can review everything with you in more detail and work toward a resolution together. Please feel free to reply there anytime, and we’ll be happy to assist further. Best regards, Lester
I cancelled the APP on December 17th, they billed me for it on December 18th.......
Hi LongSkisTruck, I'm sorry to hear that you got charged recently. However, upon checking Shopify's records, this appears to be a valid charge since the billing period for the said charge was for November 18 to December 18, 2025. Like what you mentioned, you canceled on the 17th of December or the day before your plan renews again(18th), which means you won't get charged anymore for future billing periods like the December 18 to January 18, 2026 bill, and so on. Like all subscription plans, it is postpaid, which means you are billed for the service after you use it. Please note that these charges are done automatically by Shopify's system as they take care of all billing processes on behalf of third-party apps like ours, and this does not require our intervention at all. We're only able to process appropriate refunds/credits on our end. That said, we always aim to be considerate of our valued users. As a courtesy, we’ve gone ahead and processed a full refund of this charge for your store. You should see the refunded amount reflected in your payment account within 3–5 business days. We also sent you emails regarding this concern of yours, but it looks like you haven't read them yet. If you can't find them in your inbox, we suggest checking your spam folder. We wish you and your business all the best! If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out again. Regards, Darrel
Apres qui je telecharger cette apli mon magazin il vien full. Avec des suci par tout, je recomend pas cett aplis.. En plus je pas de chaine pour parle avec le gent responsable. Pas la paine!
Hi there, Darrel here from Booster SEO, thanks for getting in touch! I am sorry to hear that you had an issue after installing our app. 😔 We would love to have you reinstall so that we can look into this and address the issues you mentioned. Please note that our app only adds meta tags for SEO, which are added to your site's source code. It shouldn't affect your site's front end, and it is not designed to add any photos or anything to your site. Also, since you were on our Free plan when you installed our app, it is limited to one feature only: optimizing image alt texts(bits of image-related code) so that your product images are ranked higher on Google Images, but again, it doesn't have the capability to add images. However, so that we can properly investigate the issue you reported, I see here that our Tier 2 team sent you a collab request 6 hours ago, but we haven't received your response yet. We do need your confirmation if the collab request has been approved. If you didn't receive any of our messages, I recommend checking your spam folder. We would love to turn around your experience with our app. Looking forward to your response to the email we sent you. Regards, Darrel
Only optimizes some images, then they tell you you need to wait a month to get the rest done. But that never happened. I emailed, messaged, used the chat, and never got any further response. They did send a collaboration request, which I accepted immediately, but nothing further. Six weeks of waiting, messaging, being told that it would start later, later, later. Customer service is basically non existent.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry for the frustration you've experienced. I reviewed your case and can confirm that our team did send a collaborator access request so we could investigate the stalled image optimizations. However, please note that we don’t receive automatic notifications once a request is accepted; and we send out dozens each day. This is the reason why we ask merchants to let us know once access has been granted so we can proceed immediately. Regarding the monthly optimization limit, our app does indeed have a 5GB processing limit per month, and this is something we’ve always been fully transparent about inside the app and in our documentation. This limit is imposed by our current server provider and is sufficient for over 99% of stores, but we understand that high-volume stores may outgrow it. We are actively working on expanding this capacity for all our valued users, including yourself. That said, if the next cycle of optimizations doesn’t begin at the start of a new month, we can fix this right away with a manual re-sync; but again, only after collaborator access is confirmed. I’ve already reached out to you directly via email so we can get this fully resolved for you. Looking forward to your reply, and we'd truly appreciate the opportunity to make things right. Best regards, Lester
Been waiting over a month for this to work. After installation they tell you it will only be updated once a month due to data limits... A month passed two weeks ago, and no further updates were applied to photos.. and I have been messaging daily with no help at all. I'll uninstall and try something else, just really irksome to spend six weeks waiting, with zero help from support. They don't respond to messages through shopify, or emails. You will get a preliminary response through the chat feature, but it just says "we will escalate this", then they don't ever respond again. If you do it again, you just get the same preliminary response, then nothing else. Might be a bot. Totally embarassing that I spent so much time hoping this would work, but hopefully I can save someone else the trouble.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced. After reviewing your case though, I can confirm that my colleague reached out a couple of days ago with a collaborator access request so we could investigate the issue directly on your store. This access is required for us to identify why the image updates weren’t processing and to apply the proper fix. Once accepted, we would have been able to move forward with investigating and resolving this as soon as possible. Even without collaborator access, we had attempted initiating a manual re-sync from our side and saw the optimization process in progress before the app was uninstalled. That said, I completely understand how this situation could feel disappointing, and I genuinely appreciate you bringing it to our attention. I’ve just sent you an email with more details and the next steps we need so we can assist you properly. Looking forward to your response. We’d really appreciate the chance to look into this further and get everything working smoothly for you. Best regards, Lester
Terrible service. Been paying for this app for 1yr giving them the benefit of doubt while nothing gets done and chat bots seem just to be pretending to look into why it doesn’t work. Complete scam and waste of money
Hi there, Pat here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I reviewed our previous interactions and noticed that we’ve been sending collaborator requests each time you reached out so we could securely access your store and investigate the issues you reported. Without confirmation that these requests were accepted, we’re unable to perform a complete review or troubleshoot effectively. Regarding your SEO concerns, Booster SEO implements on-page improvements immediately, such as meta tags, structured data, and alt text, which help search engines crawl and index your pages. However, measurable results in rankings and visibility, including Google Maps, typically take four to six months because Google evaluates structured data, indexes pages gradually, and considers off-page signals like backlinks, which are outside the app’s control. That said, we are fully committed to assisting you. I’ve also sent you an email with further guidance on accepting the collaborator request so we can start a detailed review and help ensure your SEO setup is functioning optimally. Thank you for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Tier 2 Support
I canceled this app in September and I am still getting charged.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. I reviewed our previous support interaction and saw that you reached out two months ago regarding canceling your plan, but the chat ended before our team was able to provide full guidance. Due to Shopify’s security policies, app developers and support teams are unable to cancel, subscribe, or switch plans on a merchant’s behalf. To stop charges, merchants must switch to the Free plan within the app or uninstall the app entirely. Also, all billing charges are handled directly and automatically through Shopify’s billing system, not by Booster SEO directly. That said, we absolutely want to make this right for you. I’ve sent you an email so we can discuss the situation further and work toward a resolution together. We truly value your experience and want to ensure you’re fully supported. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Lester
Hi Stephanie, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and I’m truly sorry to hear about the concerns you’ve experienced with traffic and rankings. I know how stressful it can feel when performance drops unexpectedly. We reviewed your account, and all SEO optimizations are active and correctly applied. The ranking changes you're seeing are not caused by the app. They align with the recent Google Core Update, which has been affecting visibility for many stores across different platforms. These fluctuations are normal during major updates and usually take several weeks to settle. It’s also important to highlight that SEO works on a long-term timeline. Improvements typically build up gradually over the course of several months, and early movement can appear limited at first even when everything is functioning correctly in the background. We’ve also reached out to you privately with more details and some options that may help support you moving forward. If you’re open to reconnecting, we’d be more than happy to review your setup closely and help guide you through stabilizing your SEO results. Thank you again for sharing your experience. We truly want to make this right and support you however we can. Warm regards, Pat Booster SEO – Tier 2 Support
