Hi there, Thank you for taking a moment to leave feedback. However, we checked our system and noticed that the app was installed on your store for only about 9 minutes before being uninstalled and during that time, we didn’t receive any messages from you about any difficulties or concerns. Because of this, we believe the app didn’t have the chance to run any optimizations or show you what it can do. We’re genuinely sorry that your experience wasn’t positive during that very brief window. We’ve sent you an email so we can discuss this directly, understand what happened, and help resolve any concerns you may have. We’d really appreciate the opportunity to assist you properly. Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Lester

Only optimizes some images, then they tell you you need to wait a month to get the rest done. But that never happened. I emailed, messaged, used the chat, and never got any further response. They did send a collaboration request, which I accepted immediately, but nothing further. Six weeks of waiting, messaging, being told that it would start later, later, later. Customer service is basically non existent.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry for the frustration you've experienced. I reviewed your case and can confirm that our team did send a collaborator access request so we could investigate the stalled image optimizations. However, please note that we don’t receive automatic notifications once a request is accepted; and we send out dozens each day. This is the reason why we ask merchants to let us know once access has been granted so we can proceed immediately. Regarding the monthly optimization limit, our app does indeed have a 5GB processing limit per month, and this is something we’ve always been fully transparent about inside the app and in our documentation. This limit is imposed by our current server provider and is sufficient for over 99% of stores, but we understand that high-volume stores may outgrow it. We are actively working on expanding this capacity for all our valued users, including yourself. That said, if the next cycle of optimizations doesn’t begin at the start of a new month, we can fix this right away with a manual re-sync; but again, only after collaborator access is confirmed. I’ve already reached out to you directly via email so we can get this fully resolved for you. Looking forward to your reply, and we'd truly appreciate the opportunity to make things right. Best regards, Lester

Been waiting over a month for this to work. After installation they tell you it will only be updated once a month due to data limits... A month passed two weeks ago, and no further updates were applied to photos.. and I have been messaging daily with no help at all. I'll uninstall and try something else, just really irksome to spend six weeks waiting, with zero help from support. They don't respond to messages through shopify, or emails. You will get a preliminary response through the chat feature, but it just says "we will escalate this", then they don't ever respond again. If you do it again, you just get the same preliminary response, then nothing else. Might be a bot. Totally embarassing that I spent so much time hoping this would work, but hopefully I can save someone else the trouble.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced. After reviewing your case though, I can confirm that my colleague reached out a couple of days ago with a collaborator access request so we could investigate the issue directly on your store. This access is required for us to identify why the image updates weren’t processing and to apply the proper fix. Once accepted, we would have been able to move forward with investigating and resolving this as soon as possible. Even without collaborator access, we had attempted initiating a manual re-sync from our side and saw the optimization process in progress before the app was uninstalled. That said, I completely understand how this situation could feel disappointing, and I genuinely appreciate you bringing it to our attention. I’ve just sent you an email with more details and the next steps we need so we can assist you properly. Looking forward to your response. We’d really appreciate the chance to look into this further and get everything working smoothly for you. Best regards, Lester

Terrible service. Been paying for this app for 1yr giving them the benefit of doubt while nothing gets done and chat bots seem just to be pretending to look into why it doesn’t work. Complete scam and waste of money
Hi there, Pat here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I reviewed our previous interactions and noticed that we’ve been sending collaborator requests each time you reached out so we could securely access your store and investigate the issues you reported. Without confirmation that these requests were accepted, we’re unable to perform a complete review or troubleshoot effectively. Regarding your SEO concerns, Booster SEO implements on-page improvements immediately, such as meta tags, structured data, and alt text, which help search engines crawl and index your pages. However, measurable results in rankings and visibility, including Google Maps, typically take four to six months because Google evaluates structured data, indexes pages gradually, and considers off-page signals like backlinks, which are outside the app’s control. That said, we are fully committed to assisting you. I’ve also sent you an email with further guidance on accepting the collaborator request so we can start a detailed review and help ensure your SEO setup is functioning optimally. Thank you for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Tier 2 Support

I canceled this app in September and I am still getting charged.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. I reviewed our previous support interaction and saw that you reached out two months ago regarding canceling your plan, but the chat ended before our team was able to provide full guidance. Due to Shopify’s security policies, app developers and support teams are unable to cancel, subscribe, or switch plans on a merchant’s behalf. To stop charges, merchants must switch to the Free plan within the app or uninstall the app entirely. Also, all billing charges are handled directly and automatically through Shopify’s billing system, not by Booster SEO directly. That said, we absolutely want to make this right for you. I’ve sent you an email so we can discuss the situation further and work toward a resolution together. We truly value your experience and want to ensure you’re fully supported. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Lester

Hi Stephanie, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and I’m truly sorry to hear about the concerns you’ve experienced with traffic and rankings. I know how stressful it can feel when performance drops unexpectedly. We reviewed your account, and all SEO optimizations are active and correctly applied. The ranking changes you're seeing are not caused by the app. They align with the recent Google Core Update, which has been affecting visibility for many stores across different platforms. These fluctuations are normal during major updates and usually take several weeks to settle. It’s also important to highlight that SEO works on a long-term timeline. Improvements typically build up gradually over the course of several months, and early movement can appear limited at first even when everything is functioning correctly in the background. We’ve also reached out to you privately with more details and some options that may help support you moving forward. If you’re open to reconnecting, we’d be more than happy to review your setup closely and help guide you through stabilizing your SEO results. Thank you again for sharing your experience. We truly want to make this right and support you however we can. Warm regards, Pat Booster SEO – Tier 2 Support

I installed Booster SEO expecting a simple on-page optimizer. Within a few weeks my Shopify analytics exploded with thousands of fake visits — all from China and other random IPs — completely wrecking my data. After uninstalling, the traffic didn’t stop. The app had injected external scripts from cdn.boosterapps.net into my theme files, which kept calling remote servers long after removal. It took hours to clean the code manually and the bot hits still haven’t stopped because their crawler network keeps hammering my store. This is not “AI SEO.” It’s artificial traffic generation that pollutes analytics, misleads store owners, and risks SEO penalties from Google for suspicious behaviour. I’ve removed every trace of it, revoked their access, and had to set up Cloudflare just to block the bot network they created. If you value clean data, real customers, and your site’s reputation — do not install Booster SEO. It causes more harm than good. Once this parasite of an App stops with the traffic i will remove this review. **** REPLY to their reply useles PR reply. Hi Lester, You can keep repeating the same script, but my data tells the story. The traffic spike didn’t appear “sometime after SEO updates” it began within days of installing Booster SEO and vanished after I removed every reference to your cdn.boosterapps.net scripts and revoked your API access. That’s not correlation. That’s causation. If your app “only uses Shopify’s API,” then explain why your code physically inserted external script tags into my theme files, code that had to be manually deleted. Shopify’s own APIs don’t require client-side JavaScript hosted on your CDN. The moment your app injected those scripts, it triggered external calls and persistent bot activity. You can dress it up as “reindexing” or “AI scraping,” but no other app I’ve ever used caused anything remotely like this. Booster SEO did. It polluted analytics, wasted my time, and forced me to set up Cloudflare-level filtering just to stop the flood. I don’t need more explanations about theoretical scraping trends or Google anomalies, I need accountability from your side. If you truly “take integrity seriously,” audit your external scripts and stop pushing traffic loops onto merchant stores. Until then, I’ll continue warning other store owners to steer clear.
Hi there, Lester here from Booster SEO Tier 2 Support. I’m sorry to hear about your experience but I want to clarify a few things. Booster SEO does not generate fake traffic ever. Our app only performs on-page SEO optimizations like meta tags, image alt texts, and structured data through Shopify’s API. The cdn.boosterapps.net reference you mentioned simply hosts assets for the app’s interface, much like how Shopify uses cdn.shopify.com, and it does not initiate traffic. Traffic spikes like the ones you noticed can sometimes happen after SEO updates as search engines reindex your site. Recently, there’s also been an increase in automated bots scraping content for AI purposes, which can inflate analytics. I have sent you an email with further details about this. If you’d like, I can guide you on filtering bot traffic in Google Analytics or Shopify to help verify the source. Simply respond to the email we sent so we can discuss this further. We take our app's integrity very seriously and we’d love to help you regain confidence in your analytics and SEO setup. Best regards, Lester

Hi there, I’m really sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t been ideal. I took another look at your account, and it seems that your recent issue was with the SEO Audit tool may still be flagging some issues even after you’ve already addressed them. Please note that I’ve already sent a collaborator access request to your Shopify admin 15 days ago so we can take a closer look and fix this for you directly. I have re-sent it today along with an email. Once you accept that request, we’ll be able to investigate and make sure everything is working as expected. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. Best regards, Lester

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience with Booster SEO didn’t go as expected. I’d love to better understand what went wrong so we can make it right and ensure you’re fully supported moving forward. Whether it’s a billing concern, a setup issue, or something not working as intended, our team is here to help. We’ve also reached out to you directly via email to assist further and resolve this as quickly as possible. Your input is incredibly valuable to us and helps us continue improving the app for everyone. Warm regards, Pat Booster SEO – Tier 2 Support

Been paying the top price for this app for numerous years, upon checking today i can see the app has done nothing at all in over a year; despite my website having a total redesign in this time. I'd like a refund for every month ive paid for this app and the app has done absolutely nothing at all
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re truly sorry for the confusion and frustration this caused. After checking your account, we confirmed that your SEO optimizations are fully active and working correctly in the background. The issue you noticed, where the reports seemed inactive — was actually due to a temporary dashboard sync delay following recent Shopify API updates and our own dashboard redesign. Our engineering team has already been working to stabilize this update so that your live SEO results display accurately again. In the meantime, we’ve verified that your backend SEO score is currently 90 (Grade A), which shows that your site remains properly optimized. We’ve also reached out to you privately via email with a few follow-up details and a note of appreciation for your continued support. Thank you again for sticking with us, we’re confident that everything will be fully synced and running smoothly shortly. Warm regards, Pat Booster SEO Tier 2 Support

EDIT: First, they ruin your website, causing hundreds of dollars in damage, and then they tell you they'll give you a free subscription (which is obviously not true because it's all a setup). I tried to ask for real, technical information about how the program works in the back end, and they were unable to answer me, except to say the usual childish nonsense and advise me to read their guides, which say absolutely nothing. After I asked for technical information, they blocked my email and never replied again. For me, these are not serious service. I have many doubts about the positive reviews from people who really enjoyed themselves...I had to solve the problem of damaged images (150 random ones) by manually fixing more than 5,000 media files, as it was difficult to find those that had not been damaged by “optimization.” For me, this experience was a waste of money and a lot of energy. The app is unclear about costs and synchronized products. To understand it better, you have to write to customer service, which has proven to be very incompetent in answering specific questions. The synchronization dashboard shows fake numbers because the free plan generates alt text for 150 random images from the store, which is the only feature available with the free plan. The other plans are all very expensive, and to do basic things like image optimization, you need to sign up for the $69 plan. It's a rip-off; there are many apps that offer the same thing at 1/3 of the cost.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about the frustration you’ve experienced. I’d like to clear up a few points and also make this right for you. First, regarding the free plan: you’re correct that it applies alt text to 150 images as a way to give merchants a preview of how the feature works. This isn’t intended to show “fake numbers” but rather to demonstrate functionality before committing to a paid plan. Our higher-tier plans go beyond image alt text to cover a full suite of SEO optimizations, including structured data, meta tags, redirects, broken link fixes, and more. As for pricing, I completely understand your concerns. While there may be other apps available, ours is designed as a complete SEO solution built specifically for Shopify — not just individual features, but how everything works together to improve long-term visibility and rankings. It’s also one of the most proven and trusted SEO apps on Shopify, as reflected in the installs and reviews we’ve received. That said, I’d really like you to experience the full value our app can bring. I’ve sent you an email so we can discuss this further and help you out directly. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Lester

At first, it seemed like everything was fine and working well. My SEO errors were fixed, but the Google and Pinterest bots flagged the massive amount of automated processing as negative, and my ranking plummeted to 0 within two weeks due to this aggressive SEO booster. It caused me a lot of damage, even though I was told it wouldn't affect other apps. But it's more than clear, and I just hope Google regains confidence in my shop soon.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I want to clarify a few important points regarding how our app works. First, our app does not use AI or automated content generation for your meta tags. Instead, we rely on your existing product titles and collections to create clean, SEO-friendly meta tags. This is also why we provide the SEO Audits feature — to highlight areas where improvements may still be needed, leaving the final decisions and edits in your control. Second, platforms like Pinterest and Google Merchant Center don’t actually use traditional SEO meta tags the way Google Search does. Instead, they rely on product feeds (separate data submissions that follow their own guidelines) to determine how your products are displayed. That means any warnings or issues you’re seeing there would be independent of our app’s SEO optimizations. That said, I’d really like to help point you in the right direction. Could you please share the exact warnings or errors you’re receiving from Google or Pinterest? With more details, I can guide you on what they mean and how best to resolve them. I have sent you an email so we can discuss this further. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Lester

I can't say anything about the app. But I've been waiting almost a year for the app to work at all. I keep being put off again and again. As compensation, I got a 1-year subscription for free. D When the app finally loaded after half a year, it continued. I wanted to redeem the 1-year subscription. However, there is now a problem with redeeming the subscription. Now I've been waiting another 3 months without success. I'm not getting an answer from support either. And I really wasn't annoyed. I have asked maybe once in 2 weeks if there is an update. Too bad, because the app is really praised.
Hi Maurizio, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience with our app didn’t meet expectations. I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to run into delays after upgrading to Premium. In your case, the issue was tied to the way Shopify’s Billing API syncs subscription confirmations back to our app. Occasionally, this handshake can get stuck, which prevents Premium from being unlocked even though the upgrade was processed. While the underlying changes don’t affect your store’s data or theme safety, we know how disruptive it is when access doesn’t match what you paid for. We’ve sent you an email to learn more about what happened so we can investigate and assist you directly. Our team is committed to resolving this quickly and also improving how our subscription flow handles edge cases like this, so that it doesn’t happen again. Thank you again for your patience and for giving us the chance to make this right. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Team

Isn't clear upfront that it adds code to the site which is not trivial to remove safely.
Hi Gareth, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience with our app didn’t meet expectations. We understand how concerning it can be to discover code changes in your store, especially when they’re unexpected. While Booster SEO does apply certain on-site optimizations to improve SEO performance, these changes are safe, non-destructive, and fully revertible. That said, we recognize that this behavior could have been communicated more clearly, and we're actively working to improve that. We’ve also reached out to you via email to clarify the changes made and offer any additional support you may need. If there's anything we can assist with further, we’re more than happy to help. We appreciate you giving Booster SEO a try and value the opportunity to learn from your experience. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Team

Would not work after continually selecting paid plan. CS was no help
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience. After a thorough investigation, our team found that the issue was due to a billing error on Shopify’s end - not from our app's side. That said, we’ve already reached out to you via email with a detailed explanation and a special offer to hopefully make things right with you. We’d love the opportunity to turn this around and are just waiting for your response. 🙏 Best regards, Lester

I have reported a problem accessing the application for 4 months and it still has no solution.
Hi Alejandro, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We completely understand your disappointment, and I want to sincerely apologize for the prolonged experience you’ve had. The issue affecting your store is a result of a rare conflict caused by recent updates to Shopify’s embedded app framework, which has disrupted how our app initializes and connects within some store environments. This is not a widespread problem, but rather a complex edge case, and our engineering team has been working closely with Shopify’s developer support to investigate and build a stable fix. We know it’s been a long wait, and I want to personally reassure you that your case remains active and a high priority for our team. We've made significant progress in testing improvements to the app's loading behavior and are working carefully to ensure full compatibility with your store before deployment. In the meantime, we’ve reached out via email with more technical details and next steps. We're grateful for your patience and are committed to earning back your trust as we work through this. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Team

I've been waiting for almost half a year now on an update while the app isn't working. The people keep telling me things will be alights, but they won't. The product is outdated and doesn't work on my theme.
Hi Hein, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us — I completely understand your frustration, and I want to assure you that your case has never left our radar. The issue you're experiencing stems from a rare conflict between your store’s theme configuration and some recent updates on Shopify’s end. This conflict is preventing the app from working seamlessly with your theme, and it requires a specific technical solution. Our engineering team is working closely with Shopify to fully resolve this, but because of the complexity of the issue, it’s taking some time to ensure that everything is properly aligned and functioning. Our team has been thoroughly investigating this, and while it’s still in progress, we’re making steady headway. We fully appreciate how important it is for you to have a smooth and reliable experience with the app, and we’re committed to getting this resolved for you. In the meantime, I’ve sent you an email with further details on the issue, and once the fix is implemented, we’ll ensure that the app will function as expected within your store’s environment. If you have any additional questions or if there’s anything else you’d like to discuss, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to help. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Tech Support

This app is a total scam, they charge you $25 right away and it is not free 14 day trial. They do not refund the money back even if you cancel the app within two days. Stay away from this app is a total scam.
Hi there, We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you sharing your feedback. We’d like to clarify that our app offers a free plan, and paid plans are only activated when a user manually approves the upgrade through Shopify’s billing screen. Once a charge is approved, Shopify handles all billing and fund transfers. After receiving your email, our team responded promptly requesting a copy of the invoice so we could validate and process your refund. However, it looks like the message may not have been seen on your end. That said, we’ve already gone ahead and processed a full refund for the $24.99 charge as a courtesy. We’ve also sent a confirmation email with a screenshot of the refund transaction for your reference. If you experience any delays, Shopify Support can assist, as they handle the settlement process. We’re here if you need anything else and truly regret that your experience didn’t reflect the standard of service we aim for. Warm regards, Pat – Booster SEO Team

I decided to trial this as an insights tool for what I needed to do for my website but changed my mind given the time of this review for me (6am) only to find out that it has completely destroyed ANY, and ALL SEO changes I had made personally; I feel incredibly sorry for anyone else that decides to uninstall this... There is no recovery for this at all..
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We understand how frustrating this must be, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify what happened. When Booster SEO is uninstalled, it removes all of our app’s code from your theme. However, due to Shopify’s restrictions, in some themes, the "comment tags" that prevent duplicate SEO tags might not be automatically removed. This can sometimes make it appear as though previous SEO changes were lost. To resolve this, updating your theme should clear any residual comment tags and restore your SEO settings. You may also need to reach out to your theme developer for further assistance. We’d love to help you get everything back in order. We’ve sent you an email with more details on how to restore your settings, and we’re happy to assist further if needed. Please feel free to reach out—we’d love the chance to make this right. Thank you for your patience and for sharing your experience with us. Best regards, Pat Booster SEO Support Team
