We had this app active for a while and only ran into problems. Sometimes updates had to be triggered manually, sometimes we had to reconfigure the settings completely. But the worst part was a serious consent mode issue: after users clicked accept or decline on the cookie banner, the pop-up showed up again on every page change. Our conversion rate dropped from 7% to 2% because of this endlessly repeating banner. There was no way to pause or even disable it temporarily. For me, this app is absolutely not recommendable!

We experienced recurring problems with this app. One major issue: the cookie banner went offline for a long time because an update was supposed to be triggered manually. Unfortunately, there was no notification about this – you only see it if you actively open the app. This meant our tracking was not working properly for a long time. Another frustration: technical support is only possible via installing a separate support app. This is very unusual compared to other Shopify apps, where normal backend access is sufficient. The final straw (and the reason we uninstalled the app): without making any changes in our shop, the cookie banner simply disappeared. It had been active in the settings, yet suddenly our Klaviyo newsletter signup forms were no longer visible in the shop. After some digging, we discovered it was caused by the cookie banner app. As a result, Google Ads performance also dropped drastically since no data was being sent. In summary, this app caused us significant business damage, and we cannot recommend it.

As other users have already mentioned several times here, the app is nothing but trouble. Support is not very helpful, and we as customers have to fix the problems caused by the update from the Complianz team. That's pretty bold. Technical support can only help if you sign an agreement and download the Metafield Guru app (?!), which I find very dubious overall. Other apps are able to solve such problems via developer access. If the team does not contact us with an alternative solution after this review, we will delete the app and use another one.

Since the switch to "Complianz" we do have a lot of problems with this app. E.g. on mobile devices (tested on Google Pixel 7A, Android 16) the banner pops up on every page we open. Test many different browsers (Chrome, FF, Opera, Brave). That essentially makes it impossible to browse our site or buy something! Never had any problems with the "old" version of the app!

The app launched updates without informing me and as I didn't go into the app to accept it (as I didn't know about it), our entire tracking broke down. It took me weeks to figure out that an update in this app caused all the issues. The support wasn't helpful either. Now again, they launched a new version and forced me to move to it. My banner design and all customizations were lost in the process, and I had to start from 0. Therefore, I now decided to move to a different Cookie banner app.

The App was working fine, before their upgrade to "Complianz". Now it is... - not loading at all when using Brave Browser - not loading the appearance panel when using Edge Browser - still showing the old app, when visiting our store, although it should be showing the new one I contacted their support and they wanted me to sign a four page service agreement before helping me. Although the agreement stated, that no additional cost were involved, it still felt fishy. According to the agreement, I was also "requesting exceptional support [...] which does not fall within the scope of the support services provided by the Provider." In other words: Get the app (that you pay for) up and running in your store like it is advertised, is a "exceptional support" matter, that "does not fall within the scope" of their support team.

As for the issue with your cookie banner not updating, this can be resolved quickly, and we're more than happy to take care of it for you. However, we do require a signed waiver before we can access your store. You mentioned the section about "requesting exceptional support" in the waiver. We understand that the wording might sound unusual. It simply means that we're offering hands-on assistance by directly accessing your store to resolve the issue, rather than guiding you through the steps via email. Seit dem neuen Update leider wesentlich schlechter als vorher. Das Widget ist an einer schlechten stelle platziert und lässt sich auch nirgends anders platzieren. Das Logo im Header ist extrem klein, sodass man es kaum erkennt und lässt sich nicht verändern. Das Design des Banners war vorher besser und lässt sich nun auch kaum noch anpassen. Für mich ein leider sehr enttäuschendes Update.

Support from Veronika - she works for that Cookie-Consent-Tool - is the worst I have ever experienced. I wanted tiny changes in the function of the consent-tool, that most other consent tools offers automatically. We had a few weeks email-contact and it didnt help. Even a developer helped me, but a last change even he couldnt do. Veronika just repeated what she was texting in the emails and recommended that i should ask an external developer. I will just find another Cookie-Consent-Tool, that and the support behind, cant recommend at all.

Support only in English? Fine, then in English! Then we'll use a translation app if that's too much for you. We haven't had any visible conversions in the backend for over a month. Only Shopify found out that this is because of you! Would you please inform us that an update is necessary? !!!! And the support can only be reached via detours, because the popup stubbornly won't go away! We are so annoyed and disappointed! Hopefully we will be contacted immediately. We will not change any codes etc. Why do we pay for your app???????

Missing conversions is certainly undesirable, as this is not a common issue we encounter with our clients we've asked your for access to your store so that our technical team could take a look, which was refused. Wir haben GDPR Legal Cookie by iubenda vor einem Jahr installiert und anfangs waren wir zufrieden. Damals hatte wir eine Frage, die schnell vom Support beantwortet wurde. Doch leider hat sich das nach einem Jahr komplett geändert. Der Seiten-Scan hat gezeigt, dass die Cookies der App nicht korrekt gesetzt werden – was für uns als Betreiber extrem ärgerlich ist. Also habe ich mich an den Support gewandt. Die erste Antwort ließ vier Tage auf sich warten und war leider überhaupt nicht hilfreich. Auf meine Nachfrage nach weiterer Unterstützung warte ich nun seit weiteren vier Tagen ohne eine Antwort. Das ist kein Service, wie man ihn sich wünscht! Die App wurde daher deinstalliert, denn es gibt definitiv bessere Anbieter auf dem Markt.

Just miserable! First of all, after implementing Shopify Extended Checkout at our Shop Go-Live the app didn't set the cookies probably which made it necessary to engage an agency to bug fix. As a result, each change in the app resets the cookie settings in standard. So we need to ask the developer each time. Our agency tried to reach out to the customer service but didn't get any answer. Also now having problems for which I tried to contact via In-App-Support, but after one week there is no answer. I didn't even get an confirmation mail, that my request arrived.

All I have to say, very fast, effective and kind Support. Thank you ---> I SAID THAT BEFORE COMPLIANZ TOOK OVER NOW MY NEW REVIEW Everything does not function in a right way! You can't select every single cookie by itself now. It's not compliant for EU-Policies (thats very bad) Before the UPDATE the cookiebanner was the best for Shopify. It had everything!!! NOW THIS very bad designed Cookiebanner ist slow and not useable at all anymore. We as Shopowners are insanely disappointed about the recent Updates. Hope you will fix this in the future

Der Banner funktioniert zwar, aber leider kann man den Tag Manager nicht oder wohl nur mit hervorragenden Programmierkenntnissen so einrichten, dass Tags nach der Einwilligung gefeuert werden (Consent Mode V2). Eine ordentliche Schritt für Schritt Anleitung gibt es auch nirgends. Daher leider nicht zu empfehlen.

after having installed the app my view count was not anymore accurate with a drop of 70% and also sells dropped 80% in one day. after deleting the app still I cannot fix this issue

Hello, I'm sorry that you've experienced such a huge drop in views and sales. Even though this is possible, for example due to an incorrect implementation of Google Consent Mode v2 (visits) and perhaps a incompatibility between our app and your checkout/payment/similar provider, it does strike me as very odd that the issue remains after uninstalling our app. Usually that would mean that something else has been causing such issues. Should you reach out to our support, we'd be more than happy to take a look at the issue for you!

Unfortunately, I can not recommend this plugin. Cookies that have been manually marked "essential" are not activated. I have been in contact with the support for 2 months, without a solution....
