Hi. I have been using your app to run my business since Feb. 2021 and it looks like my clients does not always receive their digital goods. It seems like the browser they use does not matter. Is there a quick way to make sure my clients always gets what they pay for using your app ?

This works well to add a single file to a product. However, it is exceedingly irritating to have to make adjustments on the variant level instead of product level. Ex, to change the fulfillment settings from automatic to manual. Or to add files - you have to individually add each file to each variant. I feel like there should be a tick box, or something in the general settings, to choose to make these changes on the product level. If digital downloads are a core piece of your business and you have a wide inventory, I would look at using another app!

It's good but slow. All my customers say they don't get their link to download until hours later. if the links popped up faster, this app would be amazing!

This app is just ok. Has basic features that allows to upload big files, but lacks lots of other important features.

We have a customer that purchased 14 downloads and only received 10 links. I checked the download limits (all zero). The customer also fowarded me all the emails they received, so I confirmed only 10 links. What could have caused this and how can we fix it?

App is good for the most part but im having issues with customers not getting the download link or the download link not working sometimes. Whats up with that?

DOES NOT WORK ON MOBILE - have to direct customers to download from a computer constantly. Make this work on mobile and it would be great, make it possible to attach multiple files and it would be fantastic.

You can only upload 1 digital file. Most of my clients can not download the attached file. I have to switch to another app.
I have mixed feelings with this app. It's great that it's free and it does the job (recommended for e-books) you can set download limit to discourage illegal forwarding, BUT the limit what causes the trouble. I get customer complaints every day that the download button didn't work and because they tried clicking on it many a few times, they exceeded the limit. They didn't actually download the file but the app thinks they did. This might be a device issue on their end but it's definitely something the developers should look into. Setting the limit to unlimited still causes them negative customer experience because after they pay for a product, they get a download button that either works or not. If this issue gets fixed, I'll give 5 stars immediately!

I want to love this app. And for awhile, I did. I've been using it for a few years now. But recently, somehow my digital products are having the "this is a physical product" field mysteriously checked in the admin product pages. I am NOT making this change. It's some glitch. And you know what happens when that field gets checked? The Digital Downloads app deletes your file- without you knowing. Until, that is, your customers complain that that they never received the download link for the product that was blatantly described as an "instant download." To them, it feels like a bait and switch. And I have no doubt that this glitch is affecting my conversion rates, because once a customer goes to checkout, if the file has been deleted by the app, it tells them that their "download" product will be delivered in 6-8 business days! Hello, abandoned carts. I continue to work with support to get this issue resolved. So far, nothing has worked. Am I the only one experiencing this glitch?
Ok app, but "edit proxy url" settings doesn't work. So you cannot change the default "downloads" url. If you change it, all your digital download links will be broken (not working). Also it uses http as default and there is no way to change it to use https:// And you cannot change the default download button text or text below the button. Two and half stars.
Well, It's free but it's also essential to use shopify for digital products. They need to do so much work on this app though. We need to be able to see when a customer has downloaded and from which IP address with order details. I can't delete files for the digital products that have been removed, they are still in the list! The stat's page needs a complete redesign. Need a global setting for download limit. The list goes on. It does do the job, but needs some love to make it great! Updated review: After about 3 months of use - there are problems with large downloads not completing and the downloads are very, very slow, unacceptably slow in fact. This app is probably OK for small files but for anything over 250 MB I would look else where. Also, the email address that the download links come from often gets rejected as spam resulting in the customer not getting the link and YOU have to manually create a link and send it to them - not good if you have 100's of orders a month! I will have to move to a PAID app, but that is probably why this free one is so restricted isn't it Shopify?
This app has two major drawbacks: 1. You cannot set download links to expire after a set amount of time. This is bad. 2. Customers cannot access download links from their account page. Both of these issues seem like obvious features, and I can't understand why they aren't included.
Would get 5 stars easily if it could do the following: * Allow users to get download link when they login to the store. It makes no sense how they can get tracking for their physical items through their account but cannot get a link to their digital download. * Update fulfillment fields with link to download. This will allow anyone using the API to get and display the download link to customers.
Works about 75 percent of the time. Doesn't always send out the emails which is a pain and a hassle.
Works pretty well! Except for the fact that the download email ends up in the spam of some customers...
