This app allows up to 5gb of files per product, which is generous and very important for my business. There are problems when uploading more than one file to a product. It doesn't matter whether you try to upload multiple files at once or if you save one file, then add another later, nor does it matter what size the files are; after upload, saving will give you an endlessly spinning "saving" icon which will never actually save or resolve itself. It's really too bad, because this simple glitch spoils an otherwise perfect app.

A good app IF you only travel in one language. But as soon as you have multilingual download emails, it's useless.

We've been using it for a LONG TIME, but it always had some issues. If you do not have loads of downloads and you are not afraid of reuploading files (because they WILL vanish), and files randomly corrupting (like one of the files from a zip document going completely missing) then this is the app for you

Works, but has issues. Not fully compatible with Flow. We use Flow to capture payment only once an order has been shipped. For orders that contain a mix of shipped and digital items, the digital items get stuck as "unfulfilled" as Digital Downloads appears to only fulfill items if payment is immediately captured at order creation. Even after we manually press fulfill on digital items, nowhere in the timeline is the emailing of the download links logged.

This app is good and does mostly what we need. The unfortunate part is that Shopify recommends the New Customer Accounts type. However, their own app is not built to use the New Customers Accounts type.

When it works, it is amazing but I've been receiving emails from customers saying they never received an email with their downloads... they can't find it in their spam either.

In the Shopify Digital Downloads app, when viewing an individual digital product, it would be extremely helpful to be able to click "Previous" and "Next". This functionality is already built into the main Products section of the UI. I cannot express how much it would help me to have this implemented in a similar location of the Digital Downloads app. It would cut the time and effort required for me to upload new digital files by 75% or more. I have hundreds of digital products that I have to update each time there is a revision, and this is an extremely laborious process with the current app dashboard.

The good point is it's using Shopify domain to send emails, which has a good reputation and avoid your download emails to end in the junk. The other good thing is the fact that your files are hosted on the Shopify server and you have a use limitation per download (5gb). On the other end, the app needs some necessary improvement : a file manager to avoid duplicates, fix the download on purchase page...

I've used this app for almost ten years, and although it's not perfect, it does the job of sending my customers links to their purchased PDF patterns, and it's free. I would LOVE it if the files you uploaded were marked with a date! I would LOVE it if customer email addresses were synchronized with the address they use and updated in Shopify. Finally, the customers who have canceled a purchase or have received a refund don't get a new link sent if the file is updated. Finally, a hosted version of the app would be amazing. I wouldn't mind paying for one, so I wouldn't have to manually send people new links to their PDFs. Wardrobe By Me

Folgender Hinweis steht in der App: "Diese App funktioniert eventuell nicht wie erwartet Digital Downloads muss vom App-Entwickler aktualisiert werden. Kontaktiere sie, um Unterstützung zu erhalten, oder deinstalliere die App." Ansich funktioniert die App ok, fände es toll, wenn Shopify die eigenen Apps für solch eine wichtige Funktion (z.B. Ebooks, Rezepte...) inhouse pflegt und nicht Drittanbieter Lösungen notwendig sind.

Great app to begin with, but 1 month post install, a critical error is displayed in my admin- "This app may not work as expected. Digital Downloads needs to be updated by the app developer. Contact them for support or uninstall the app." Please update ASAP as my digital sales are currently paused and customers are unable to receive a file download link.

This app is just barely useable. It takes about 3 minutes to 'prepare' a 20mb PDF, which is completely unacceptable in 2023. In addition, it takes hours to auto-send emails to customers letting them know the file is ready for download. I'm losing customers because of this, and it seems I'm not alone. Shopify, please address these issues! Everything else with the app is beautiful and seamless.

I've been using the Digital Downloads app since last October and it had been mostly great until more recently. There have been multiple times in the past month or so that customers have been in contact to let me know that their download wouldn't load on the completed checkout screen and that no email links had arrived. It appears that the app sometimes just doesn't link correctly to an order and either needs to be manually fulfilled and the download email "resent" or sometimes it eventually fulfills after a seemingly random amount of time. Right now it appears that the app has stopped functioning properly at all and I keep getting error messages when trying to check the orders and download links. It's a real shame because I was happy with what it offered (despite it being quite basic), but I might have to start looking elsewhere if this doesn't get fixed.

Since last update I cannot access upload from within my product in shopify. "add digital file), error "no such page". But instead have to go the Apps new dashboard, search again for the product and only then can upload. THIS IS A MUCH WORSENED WORKFLOW!! Will you do something about it?

I don't know if it's just me, but I've been using this app recently, but I kept getting a 504 Gateway timeout message. Then it told me the app was outdated. But after a while, the app worked absolutely fine. Is the app working OK?

Useful app for my site - but there was a recent change where download file purchases can no longer be automatically flagged as Fulfilled. Is it possible to provide this option again?
