Stay away from this app and this company at all costs. They "accidentally" deleted dozens of collections from our Shopify store which in turn broke many pieces of our website. Whats worse is they couldn't care on helping you try and recover your data. Monumental mess up. Shocking.

After sitting idle in my store for almost 10 years, this app somehow deleted more than 100 collections. It broke major parts of my website, created unusable pages, and caused serious business damage. I lost sales, time, and now face a long rebuild of collections, site structure, and search rankings. Extremely frustrating experience.

The hate they're getting is absolutely deserved. You're telling me they deleted collections on March 29th and didn't even bother to email me about it? Why am I first hearing about this from an automated Shopify email on April 2nd? Why does an EMAIL TEMPLATE APP need permissions to create/delete collections in the first place??? This is gross negligence, end of story.

After 12 years on Shopify without a single issue, having the Orderly Emails app wipe out my collections is a serious breach of trust - completely unacceptable. An app that can make changes at this level should absolutely have a built‑in backup or rollback option in case something goes wrong. On top of that, losing the SEO content in my descriptions is another blow. Thanks for that. I’ve uninstalled this app for good.

I had an extremely frustrating and damaging experience with the Ordely Email app for Shopify. After installing and using the app, it unexpectedly deleted all the categories from my store. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience, it completely disrupted my site structure, affected navigation, and created a terrible experience for my customers. Rebuilding everything took hours of work and unnecessary stress. I strongly advise anyone considering this app to think twice. No tool should have the ability to cause this level of damage without proper protections in place.

The app deleted collections and products from my store. Absolutely unreal. Company is providing an explanation how it happens and feels really sorry for themselves but not providing any help. I'll update this review as I figure things out. - make sure to check your discounts! lots of discout rules are based on collections and are now broken

I had an issue and someone was able to chat with me about it to solve it straight away! So glad to have found an app that allows me to really edit my confirmation email this easily. Thanks!

OrderlyEmails broke the one rule every Shopify app should follow: do not mess with live store data unless absolutely necessary. A bug in their update deleted our collections, cost us revenue, and left us rebuilding a huge part of our store by hand because Shopify could not restore what was lost. For an email template app, that is honestly absurd. We can’t recommend it after this.

The reviews are sad and true. This app deleted years of work and cost us an unknown amount of revenue, time and potential issues which make take months to completely restore - if ever. Never let an app put you in this position.

These reckless developers obliterated years of work, deleted massive amounts of our data and were like "Welp! Good luck! Maybe you can use the wayback machine!" Shopify needs to hold them accountable, blacklist them from the platform, and insist on financial compensation for all of the users that they victimized.

This app caused widespread and significant damage to many Shopify stores by deleting collections without warning. For those affected, this is not a minor inconvenience - it has fundamentally disrupted site structure, navigation, and product visibility. In our case, the impact has been severe enough that the website now requires taking offline while we rebuild collections, reconfigure navigation, and restore the overall layout. This is both time-consuming, and costly. The issue has been described as a “bug,” but the scale of the damage goes far beyond what most store owners would consider an acceptable technical fault. Collections are a core part of any Shopify store, and their removal has knock-on effects across the entire customer experience - including visibility on search engines like Google. An apology email is not sufficient in situations like this. The response does not reflect the seriousness of the disruption caused, nor the level of responsibility owed to businesses relying on this app. Store owners place trust in apps to support their operations - not to compromise them. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly undermined that trust. It's quite unbelievable that Shopify hasn't yet severed their partnership with the developer - both their apps are still available in the app store. Where is the accountability? Shopify are still billing as usual and ignoring store owners. If people needed yet another excuse to find an alternative to Shopify, then this is the very thing!!!

«OrderlyEmails are writing to inform you of an incident that occurred on March 29, 2026 involving our Orderly Emails app which affected a subset of users. A bug in an Orderly Emails update caused some Shopify stores Collections to be incorrectly deleted. The update was intended to clean up duplicate collections created by our app, but due to the bug it affected other collections as well». -------- The app PERMANENTLY deleted a huge amount of our collection without the possibility to recover any of these. We had to invest many hours of work, and also hire an developer to fix this issue. We asked for a compensation for the hours and cost related to this incident and got this: «We understand the seriousness of this incident and the impact it has had on your business. We are deeply sorry for the disruption and loss it has caused. We have already implemented safeguards to ensure this cannot happen again. However, right now we are unable to discuss any kind of compensation.» I understand it might be a huge cost as it affects many of their customers, but giving those whom were affected a discount for X time to cover their cost is the least they could do.

The app randomly deleted 40+ of our collections during a technical update. They did not inform us immediately, we found out the next day when entire collections were missing from our online store. The developers were not able to restore deleted collections and we had to manually rebuild them. We also had to keep the online store closed during this time. If you are installing this app, please pay attention to what you are giving them access to edit and view.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This app which we weren't even using anymore has wiped out every single one of our smart collections, the SEO damage from this could be shocking, they should be removed from the app store for such a breach

Agree with ScootWorld, who will restore deleted collections or compensate the damage? How come this app had access to delete collections at all?

I would have positive review as I have used them for years. Unfortunately they just had a huge issue with there system that has deleted multiple collections and menus on our website. Now they are give me complex instructions on how to try and get it back to the way my site was set up. I am a small company and do not have the time to read all these steps and possibly screw up my site even more. I feel you all should log in and correct the issues you caused. I would avoid this app if these kind of issues concern you.

On 29th March, Orderly emails broke my website completely. Dozens of collections disappeared. Many of these were part of the Main Menu - so the navigation broke as well. The number of hours that this will take to figure out the issues is enormous. It is always a risk giving store access to apps. But I never expected this level of irresponsibility. How could this have happened without human involvement? This is absolutely inexcusable because as a business we depend on tech providers to ensure that their work is impeccable. This is simply inexcusable. I hope Shopify will remove them from the app store so that no one else suffers this way in the future.
