Gift cards are not delivering to recipients. I reached out to support for help and cannot get in touch with anyone. I just tried to look at our dashboard and I get "Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information)." So the app is no longer working for us. We are super disappointed in the functionality and level of support since September. We wouldn't recommend this app any longer.

Left three messages to get support over a week. None of the messages were responded to. If you're having any trouble onboarding or expect to need any level of service, avoid downloading or just uninstall. I should have expected this. Many other 1 star reviews with the same issue.

So disappointed. We've been using this app for some time but suddenly can't get any response from customer service when something isn't working. They just don't respond at all! Looks like we'll have to find another gift card app.

We've tried reaching out to Govalo for support many times through different channels and have had no response. We're now forced to replace our gift card solution on Shopify. A disappointing experience. Update May 13, 2025: Govalo support responded to our support requests and successfully resolved the issue we were having.

No service / customer support for months! I've tried multiple channels multiple times, via live chat / support / email since November at least 5 separate times and each chat / email gets an automated reply that a support ticket's been opened but no replies! I planned ahead for Christmas gift card promotions, have been contacting Govalo since November, and now can't run my promotions. The app itself is great but the lack of support is not just a letdown but also costing me sales. Update (Aug 2025), same problem is continuing again. Repeated attempts to get support with no answers. Out of pocket a few hundred dollars at this point trying to solve the problem for customers. Support needed!

The worst customer service ever. For some reason the gift card code stopped being sent - I was advised that I needed to update DNS settings but despite multiple emails nobody ever replies.

Govalo is a great provider of Gift Card services with easy to use tools and easy to launch widgets. The team was also able to help us architect a solution to allowing usage of our physical gift cards on our website. This was a HUGE win for us as we do a decent amount of revenue through this channel. Govalo is also our first line of defense when it comes to gift card fraud! The team is always releasing new features to help us drive gift card conversions and I could not imagine our collective brand portfolio without them. That being said, we do have a few requests out for some features on importing and exporting data but nothing mission critical.

I have been using the Govalo Gift Card service on my Shopify store for about a year now. The product is very easy to set up and use, and the customer service is great too. Recently, I had an issue with verifying my domain. Their technical team took the matter into their hands and went above and beyond to fix the issue! I highly recommend Govalo to anyone looking for a gift card solution for their store.

Govalo is the way to go for managing Gift Cards. Compatible with bunch of applications which makes it a breeze when you have specific strategies in mind. Their support is also A++. I highly recommend it.

Govalo's customer support team is truly unmatched! We were having trouble installing the app due to custom code and they reached out to help us. Within a couple of hours, we had the gift card live on our site! Super happy with how everything turned out and is working.

Great app, but we needed a little special configuration for it to work with the Rebuy upsell smartcarts on our 4 stores, but Govalo support responded and solved these issues very quickly. Just an FYI that there is no setting in the app to keep it from adding order discounts to gift cards, so customized script has to be added to Shopify to accomplish this.

Fantastic app! I needed giftcards ASAP over the holidays, and it could not have possibly been easier to set up using Govalo. In a matter of minutes we were live. The app is slick, intuitive, and works exactly like it says it will. Our customers love it too!

Prior to Q4 holiday gifting season, we're pleased to have found Govalo to further optimize our eGift card experience. Govalo allows for custom greetings, specific delivery dates/times, sending directly to the recipient, and many more critical capabilities. The Govalo support team is incredibly responsive and helpful too!

Govalo Gift Cards is a new player and has without a doubt the most advanced and up to date solution. Few bugs at the beginning, but they have all been solved after a couple of days. Amazing customer support!

This app is filling so many gaps in the gift card space for us – sending to recipient, scheduling the send to recipient (i.e. TRUE gifting), minimizing winback strategy for sold out items with the option to buy a gift card instead. The interface is clean and user-friendly so it's ideal for shops with any level of dev support to implement and use effectively.
