Updated: 5/23 We have now been using Klaviyo for almost 4 years and we would still give them 5 stars. It is the best marketing investment we make every month. I do feel and understand the frustration with their support. Fortunately, we have not had much need to contact them. In our 4 years, we have only had to use technical support once and we were able to get the issue resolved in less than an hour. I do wish they had a "real time" support option beyond chat. When you have a problem, you want to get an answer asap, not have to guess as to when you might hear from them. We migrated to Klaviyo after the Shopify-Mailchimp dust-up last spring. We have been using Klaviyo for 15 months now and we are very happy with the app. While a bit pricier then some out there, we have found the campaign and flow tools to pay for themselves very quickly. In the past 12 months, Klaviyo campaigns and flows have delivered $21K (about 20% of total rev) in sales to our store -- and we don't even run a campaign every month. We made the investment to attend Klaviyo:BOS last fall, their user conference. One of the best user conferences out there, in our opinion. We learned a ton from Klaviyo and many other Shopify store owners.

I’m writing this review a week in. I actually think in the long-term this will be a good app for my store. But the on-boarding and customer service has been very disappointing. First, be aware that Klaviyo customer service is run by chat. I’ve had to enter the queue for that chat three times, the first two because I missed my moment to chat. The queues are upwards of 30-50 people long, which takes 30-45 minutes. And if you miss your window, you get back in line. It took me three hours in total to get a response. Second, while sales people were quick to respond in order to get a signup, they’ve all but ghosted since. For example, I emailed about my help-chat challenges and I heard nothing back. Third, they suggest you sign up for a paying account way too early. I HIGHLY recommend getting your customizations set up first. Klaviyo WILL start sending their own newsletter sub confirms, whether you’ve customized or not. All in all, I’d break it down like this: on-boarding and help desk 2/5; platform potential 4-4.5/5.

The software itself does its job well. But it's very disturbing that once you subscribe, you cannot finish the paid subscription. Klavio demands you to contact them by e-mail, but even then they keep stalling and giving empty promises for days that "someone from the team responsible for it will contact you shortly" which obviously doesn't happen. Extremely shady

This app has helped me start segmenting my email lists and sending regular newsletters! The help blogs have been super educational and straightforward. I would highly recommend Klaviyo and look forward to learning more!

Great email marketing app at reasonable price for value derived. I have only just started scratching the surface as there's a lot deeper I can go with analytics and insights. They make it really easy to set up automatic flows for communication with customers which is excellent.

I do not know why they have to keep it so hard to cancel the subscription. I've been trying to cancel the subscription for a month and I am still going to be charged for the next month. Stay away from this app.

We used to use other email marketing apps but Klaviyo is the best we found so far. Even though the pricing is a little steep, it's great support team and automation, tracking and smart sending functions definitely make up for it.

Klaviyo has made it super easy for us to send out well designed order confirmations and updates at first and then build out campaigns and segmented post-purchase flows. Designing emails has been as easy as it should be (shouldn't be too easy) and we have not needed any additional onboarding or much support. When we did need support, the team at Klaviyo has been extremely quick and helpful.

Update 6/9 I'm incredibly grateful to one of the support agents (Matt) who has helped me night and day since Sunday and even worked in the evenings after work hours to help me resolve this. My campaigns are now functioning as they should, but the Klaviyo popup is still showing an error message on my website when people try to sign up. I'm waiting on the development team to send an update as I've been told they are working on fixing it. I also have been told from outside sources that Klaviyo used to have amazing support but they grew too fast and are having trouble training qualified people for their support team to keep up with their growth, which makes sense. Hopefully they can hire more people like Matt who gets the job done. Update 6/8 is that they reached out to me and are helping get it all fixed. Fortunately there is one support agent who has really saved the day for me. Still waiting to get it functioning correctly but he helped me with some of the main problems. Hopefully the problem with the popup will be fixed by their dev team soon. I love this app in theory, and their people are generally really nice. But it is really difficult to achieve anything due to their refusal to do onboarding phone support. After several weeks I have spent countless hours trying to get my campaigns live and working correctly. Support people are really trying to help but the results are not there. Nothing is working like it should. I've been studying their guides night and day, literally it is all I have done. But it doesn't have complete information so you are left stuck with no answers. The worst part is that support people are nice but not fully trained themselves, so they give you the wrong solution that doesn't work. Weekend support is MIA. I have written 5 times to support this weekend and no response. Nothing is working. I've lost thousands of dollars in lost revenue due to the delay in being able to get my campaigns functioning correctly. So frustrated.

I had a bad experience early on, but since then Ryan helped to get me squared away with Connor from support who has been super helpful, Peter and Melissa were awesome too, I have had a great experience with Klaviyo now having used it for a few more weeks. Initially I tried other platforms, but I would now recommend Klaviyo over those, their support is great as is the training videos and tutorials to help you get started. Klaviyo is quite intuitive and the integrations are great too!
