Numeral Sales Tax

Numeral is a scam. I signed up in August to find out in January of this year that they had not filed my taxes even for the state I reside in for over 4 months. They will bill you large amounts to "file," but when my CPA looked into it when reconciling EOY it turns out that they had not filed anything for months. They also could not provide me with any reporting log of what they did with account confirmations. Honestly, Numeral should not be allowed to be an app on the Shopify app store at this point.

We are so grateful for Numeral. Sales tax is unbelievably difficult to manage, and Numeral automates the process while keeping me in the loop. It feels so good knowing that they are monitoring our economic nexus, updating our Shopify tax collection settings, and filing on our behalf. Just keep in mind that you still have to review your settings and monitor for changes in physical nexus that Numeral might not be aware of.

I've been using Numerals for a couple of years now. It has been a huge relief on state tax filings. They take care of everything which gives me more time to work on the actual business itself. If you're pushing numbers on Shopify, I highly recommend using Numerals to stay compliant with each state.

Numeral has been an absolute joy to work with after switching from Avalara last year. Their customer service is top notch, I love their platform, and even better they are actually filing our returns (more than I can say for Avalara). I highly recommend their service!

We've been using Numeral for several years now, and it's been great. Sales tax is one of those things you don't want to think about until things go wrong…. and with Numeral, it's just been consistently accurate across filings and 30+ states The support has been helpful and thats the one thing they do supremely well - having someone side by side to guide you along the way. Not only do they deal with all the mail, whenever we've had questions, their team has been extremely responsive and actually try to help…. not just pointing to docs, but making sure things are handled correctly. We've used a number of other solutions in the past and Numeral does extremely well with guided support Numeral has been very reliable for us and I'd recommend them to other brands who need sales tax automation

We started with Numeral in 2024 and have grown to really appreciate their service. They are quick to respond to questions and help resolve issues with States, etc. I am able to approve returns before processing and they provide copies of completed tax returns on the portal.

Numeral has been a breath of fresh air for us! From customer support to tech support, everyone on their team is super knowledgable, friendly and incredibly responsive. If the person we contact can’t solve our issue, they very quickly find us someone who can. They don't just send us links to countless 'help articles', we deal with actual humans on a first name basis. They have never left us ‘hanging’ with an issue. We have tried other sales tax platforms, and Numeral is by far the best!

Numeral has SO simplified our sales tax compliance. The service is extremely valuable. Their support in getting set up was top notch. . . All support people speak English as their primary language and were very willing to get on the phone or zoom and handle everything they could with as little involvement from us as possible. I can't recommend Numeral strongly enough.

We used to work with Avalara and decided to switch to Numeral over a year ago after MANY frustrations. This has been such a good decision. Numeral makes filing in the US sooo much easier, and customer support is on top of everything we send them. It's a no-brainer. 5/5.

We have been using Numeral for all of our state sales tax filings for about 3 years and they’ve been consistently accurate. I used to verify their work myself and it always checked out. Recently when we received a state notice caused by the state’s own delayed processing, Numeral had already handled it and responded to us immediately providing proof the filing was correct and on-time. Reliable, proactive, and exactly what you want in a sales tax partner. Highly recommend.

STAY AWAY!!!! Numeral is the most irresponsible and misleading service I have ever paid for. I paid for twelve months believing my registrations were handled and my tax liabilities were being managed. That is the entire reason you hire a company like this. Instead I was left exposed. Key registrations were not completed, my compliance status was not what I was led to believe, and I received no clear notification that anything was incomplete. No proactive outreach. No urgent warning. No accountability. Just silence while the subscription kept billing. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is the kind of failure that can create real penalties and real risk for a business. If your business depends on staying compliant, you cannot afford a vendor that takes your money and then leaves you to discover gaps on your own. Numeral did not deliver the core service I paid for, and the lack of communication makes it worse. I asked for escalation and a refund because I should not be paying for months of coverage that did not actually exist. Avoid this company unless you want to babysit your compliance and double check everything yourself.

Zero communication. Signed up, paid, no communication for a month until I reached out. They finally got us registered, at least that's what it says on their site. It's hard to tell, though, because no one has reached out. Sales tax collection hasn't been enabled, and there doesn't seem to be a way get our sales tax ID in their portal. Great in concept, but terrible in execution.

If you're an e-commerce store, you NEED this program. I've worked with numerous other companies that charged your for every little thing, made you sign long contracts, charged you for every sale on TOP of the sales tax you already have to pay.... These guys make it SO easy - and their cost is unbeatable. Their customer service gets back with you immediately, you get to talk to a REAL person, and there's no waiting 3 weeks just to get a meeting someone bails out on at the last minute. The program could NOT be simpler - they handle EVERYTHING so all you do is a click a few buttons, and you can even put the thing completely on auto-pilot. Jacob met with me to onboard me and show me everything in detail and make sure my life was SUPER easy - and now I don't have to spend hours every month just tracking sales tax and making sure it's filed appropriately (and not paying it before I have to!). CANNOT recommend this company enough - they are going to make your life SO much easier!!!
