Setup is fairly simple. The issue we have found is that as the app loads last on the store, the add to cart button doesn’t turn to a pre order button until every element on the page loads. We’ve seen a number of customers checking out without the preorder app registering it as a pre order as they clicked add to cart too quickly. This kinda makes it pretty useless - we’re now having to chase all the customers who ordered thinking the product was in stock.

The app's functionality is not compatible with my theme, and they didn't specify the themes they are designed to work with. It has been two weeks since I first encountered the functionality issue, experienced poor response times, and feel like money was wasted on it

The app is compatible with the vast majority of Shopify themes but does sometimes require additional support for themes with custom development. Regarding our response times, we can see from your tickets that you received prompt support, except during an overnight weekend period. Our support agent replied to your ticket as soon as their shift started and provided next steps on resolution. We’re very positive that our recent feedback will enable your developers to resolve the issue.

We had to set up Preorders in a big hurry after going viral on social media. We sold out of inventory really quickly, and needed to get a Preorder option up and running within a day. This did the trick! There was a glitch temporarily with the code -- it affected our product image display on mobile. I contacted support, and they were super responsive. They had the issue corrected within a couple of hours, and we haven't run into any other problems. All in all, a very good app experience.

Our theme wasn't supported right off the bat. The functionality was limited initially but thanks to the support team they were able to go in and make everything work as advertised. Very friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!

Just getting started with the app, but had great support in setting it up. I dedicated my Sunday afternoon to improving our pre-ordering process. I had a few questions and hit a few walls in getting the app setup. The team on live chat were super responsive and helped me quickly solve the problems. The front-end CX of the app looks great and we've alot of questions on pre-order delivery times. So I'm expecting this will really boost our pre-order conversion. We're off to a great start!

These guys are literal scammers, and their app is messed up in so many ways. They block you out from using the free version of the app to test things out. And the 14-day free trial is a lie. The moment you click on it, it says you have 0 days left in your free trial and need to subscribe for Premium. I fell for it and subscribed for premium. Eventually, after I paid and my account was debited, I was still blocked out and told to pay another fee. You also need to pay for emails as an additional cost of using the app, meanwhile, other apps in the same category give email for free as part of their premium. I reached out to the support about all the issues I've listed above and they refused to do anything about for 2 weeks. They acted clueless like they weren't one that built the app. One advice: Stay away from this app.
Hello Solar Balls, We’re very upset to read this review. We are certainly not scammers and our app functions well for thousands of merchants. We respectfully disagree with what you have written here. The free plan that the app offers contains limited functionality. The 14 day free trial is certainly not a lie, it offers the features of the premium plan for the duration of the 14 days, after which you would need to subscribe. According to our records, your free trial started on July 5th and your first charge was on July 19th which fits the timeline of our 14 day trial. We can see from your support ticket that there was a temporary server issue which had caused you to lose access, but this was restored within 15 minutes. We’re unclear on what fee you are referring to here, our records only show one subscription fee on your account. The cost that you are referring to for customized emails is an add-on that goes beyond the standard checkout email that shopify provides. This is purely optional and is not required for the main feature set provided by our premium plan. We cannot find a recent record of the interaction with our support team that you are describing. According to our records, the last support ticket was from 2 months ago and all of the issues were resolved during the chat. Stephanie and the Customer Support

Honestly, the app was pretty cool when it was actually working, but that only lasted about a week. The support team was quick to respond, but it felt like they were kinda lost on how to fix things. If something wrong happens, be prepare for answers like "for your theme specific". I'm using the Dawn theme, which is super common on Shopify, and I didn't mess with the theme code. So, if you're using Dawn theme like me, you might want to think twice about using this app. We had issues with synchronization, and it took them several days without a solution (or even explanation). The last time I checked in on the problem, all I got was a "seen" notification without any reply. Update: I am hopeless trying to explain the same problem to Support for so many days without getting anywhere. Uninstalling the app now.

We’re not sure what you are referencing pertaining to the Dawn theme, as there are no conflicts with this theme and our app, and we did not see it mentioned in the relevant tickets. The synchronization issue was caused by a recent server issue that causes changes to take time to be reflected on the front end. Unfortunately, this issue can be difficult to replicate and surfaces intermittently, which extends the time it takes to resolve. Our developers are currently working to fix this issue, which should be resolved shortly. Although we did reply to you on September 4th, we do apologize for the issues you’ve had here. Would not recommend this app, I installed it and opened my pre-orders, but so many things went wrong and it has cost me a lot of money. Automatic shopify discounts cannot be used when people place a pre-order via this app. Our customer support had to manual pay back all customers that didn't recieve their automatic discount (and my abandoned chart rate went skyhigh because people didn't buy because they didn't recieve their automatic discount) The app has to load in order to show the 'pre-order' button at a product. So first it shows the normal 'buy now' button, and when the page is completly loaded, it changes to a 'pre-order' button. So when people click fast, they can still order an item that is not available. And the notify-me option doesn't work at all, with the result that I have a list of customers that want to buy my product, but you can not export and I can only one-by-one copy then, search the product ID in Shopify and send a manual email. All together this app has cost me a lot of money and loss of income and I would definitly not recommend anyone to use it.

Regarding the automatic discount problem, this issue is caused by a compatibility conflict between our application and Shopify’s automatic discounts. This occurs solely when discounts or partial payments are enabled within our application while the “purchase option” remains disabled. Our support team had advised you on August 25th to disable this in order to resolve the issue with the other Candy Rack application installed on your store. The loading time that you’ve observed is likely due to other files and/or scripts installed on your store. It’s advisable to optimize your theme by removing unnecessary elements; this should also serve to speed up your entire site. We’re unsure exactly what you mean by this; there may have been a miscommunication here. We have escalated this internally and a member of our team will be reaching out to you to clarify and resolve this issue. We fully intend to fix the problems that you are experiencing and we're very confident that we can get your implementation where it needs to be.
