This app was what we were looking for when it came to providing our customers with a lot of variations, but not being limited by the Shopify 3 variant limit. The customer support was great and the app provides you with the ability to change the prices based on your variants. Where the app loses a couple of stars is the product selection process to apply your variants to your products, you cannot select by tag (you can search by tag though but still have to select each product individually), you cannot select by collection, and the app will not capture any new products without you adding them manually. If you have a lot of products like we do (100+ of about 10 designs), then you must select each product individually with a scroll down view. Once you reach the end of the scroll bar it loads more products, which if you ended up searching your products by a tag, the tag disappears and then shows every one of your products instead of it being filtered. This is such a pain in the ass to choose the products you want this app to be applied to we almost don't want to use it, but this seems to be the only one available where you can change the prices based on a variant. Once you get your products selected, we found that if you choose close to 50 products at once to import, a server error stops you from moving forward and then you have to start all over because it deletes your options set. If you were able to choose your products by collection rather than one by one, or the app would automatically import products to the list by tag or collection that would be great, but this is where it falls short. It really is a big burden having to select all of our products 20-30 at a time, keep track of where we left off so we don't get the server error for choosing too many products at once then going back into the list to import another 20-30. Update: After having this app for the free trial, I believe that we will continue to use it because of the customer service. The customer service has helped us integrate the app really well into our theme since it's not a free theme. We had so many integration issues with formatting on the checkout page, prices not being adjusted when customizations were chosen, invoices not showing the customization in our packing slips or on the customer end but only showing the base price and product, the discount code box not being available for the customers on the checkout page. This was all fixed in a timely manner even after being incredibly frustrated with the app, but we need that customization with being able to adjust prices. The customer service is really great and that's the only reason we're increasing our rating to 4 stars. We still have an issue with adding products to your option sets not being somewhat automated, which is why we can't give it 5 stars.

This app helped me to provide grind options for my whole bean coffee store, and also offer gift boxes. The team was super helpful in tweaking the code, as it conflicted with another of their apps (Volume Discounts)

The app functions well on its own, but it does not integrate well with many other apps, which was disappointing. I do find their customer service to be excellent, however. Whenever I have a problem they fix it quickly.

This app is amazing. You can mold the app the way you want if you are familiar with Javascript. Only challenge our team is facing is that when customer add a customization then it's showing as line item on product and cart page. However, on cehckout page it show as a new product with "Customization for xxxx" title and a blank image for that customized product. That is the pain! The app should be able to display a giftwrap thumbnail instead of a blank image. As per Hulkapps support they don't have access to checkout page. Spoke to Shopify support and they said that the developer of Hulkapps can fix that. This is the only drawback. Hope Hulkapps will fix that asap.

The app loads a little slowly onto the site. They said its intentional. But it isnt ideal. Either way, it works very well. and Ive had very good customer support experiences with them. Very communicative and attentive helping me with things, they honesty didnt need to help me with.

The instructions given can be rewritten a bit better to help everyone understand how to apply options and such. After requesting assistance from them they helped half way, said it was completed and all communications stopped for about a week. I continuously reached out to them to no avail. I found their FB page and messaged them there, which it mentioned they'll get back to me within a few hours, 24 hours later at 6am I heard from someone.. apparently their messages/tickets weren't working properly all of a sudden.. it'd be an amazing app with the proper directions and customer service. Update on above review - once I received the help I needed from Shopify who also has knowledge in regards to this app, I've had the app running for a few weeks now with no issues. So if you run into problems and aren't getting enough help, reach out to Shopify itself before removing this app as it's simple and does what it needs to.

4.75 Star Overall. The functionalities are fantastic, exactly what I've been looking for. The support turnaround is very fast and very satisfied with the service received, especially on a free plan. I've installed and have been using the app for about half a year so far and loved it. I'm on the Basic Plan (Free) and initially had a few more options available to me which are now moved over to the Pro Plan (paid), such as conditional logic. Existing established logic is still in place but I'm no longer permitted to add/edit conditional logic. A bit disappointing on this shift without advanced notice but I understand that money has to be made somewhere. The only catch is, every few weeks or so the app kinda stops working all of a sudden and causes havoc on my end. For example, the customer selects a custom option, but the additional price is not added to the total balance in the shopping cart. Other times the description of the custom option does not display. And other times, both the description & additional price reflects properly in the shopping cart, but the customer does not get billed properly on the checkout page. I'd have to manually verify each order carefully, daily, to ensure customers are billed for the selected custom options. Plus, I'd have to manually write an email to apologize to the customer for the undercharge, and separately send them an invoice to pay for the difference. Very time consuming and unprofessional... Time and again, I would report the same repeating issue and support would resolve the issue within a day or two. I'm glad it can be fixed. I'd just prefer if the features can be more dependable, consistent and reliable. But since it's free, I really cannot complain, especially when this app gives me a lot more functionality than comparable apps at a free price. For that, I thank HulkApps.com for your generously free app.

I hired an expert to install this app for our store. We needed a drop down box on our product page. I like it for the most part, however, some customizations I need are not possible due to the way the app is programmed. I must say that support is very attentive and they do their best to help with all questions. I do recommend having an expert install the app for you if you are not confident in dong so yourself. It is a little confusing.

We rely on this app quite a bit to help us better customize our customers' products and online experience. I appreciate the ability to be able to offer so many custom options for our customers and to sometimes be able to charge customers based on their customizations. Their customer service is usually fairly helpful too, which is huge for me. We've had a few hiccups with this app and some other coding on our website, but overall the experience has been great!

Support is very good. All questions answered quickly and accurately. I did appear to me that it needs refreshing after more variants were added to the same group and conditions. However, not a bother. Easy enough to make product options based on product tag and I have only been told by our customers that there have not been the expected options. I would definitely recommend the app to others.

I use this product to allow customers to choose multiple options for the products and add features at additional prices, it works really well and enables clean configurations and calculates price. It would be great if it accepted symbols as opposed to alphanumeric text only such as '-' or '+' etc. It would also be useful if it could construct a part number at the same time as configuring the options, it seems it's all there to be able to do this so would just require an additional field in the 'Options' setup. Other than that it works great and saves a lot of time in reproducing products with different options.

Perfect app for product options, once you can get it all set up and working properly. It was conflicting a little with my current theme but Hulk App people were nice enough to finally help me, took a while. The app is free, I love a free app but I wouldn't mind paying for it if it would mean Hulk would add in a little better support and also add the feature to be able to used coupon codes. I spent months trying to get this app set up and started using it and realized that there is a conflict between the app and the shopping cart and once you have the options applied to a product, that product can no longer use coupon codes at all. So customers can't use ANY coupon codes with any of my personalized products and that stinks. Hulk says they have plans for this feature in the near future but I can't wait so I have to change to a different app that is going to now cost me $20 a month, which I am not happy at all with. I have tried all the other options apps and they all are no good.

Great free app! Had some installation issues (due to my lack of coding knowledge) which were resolved within a matter of hours. Then I asked for some help in customizing where the options would be placed on my product page and changing some of the styling and they were just fabulous at helping. Superb service! The app has integrated seamlessly with my store and shopify's own variants. Very happy!

Update to my initial review where I was having trouble getting the options to show where I needed it to. Overall, I don't think the app is the most intuitive to use, but it does work well for the simple things I need it to do and maybe it's more complicated for people who want to do fancy things. I updated my theme recently and it stopped working and contacted the help team. It took a couple days for them to fix the problem, but in the process, they also ended up fixing a problem another app was having, so definitely thumbs up for this! I'm upgrading my overall rating for the help!

We're sorry if you felt we were charging you extra unnecessarily. What has been mentioned as bugs, are not really bugs from the app. By default the code snippet is placed before the AddtoCart button, but you can place the snippet anywhere you desire. Our support services are free but limited to complete app installation, but if you need personalization or resolving theme related errors or app conflicts, they are specific to each store, and requires dedicated amount of time to resolve. Our team would only charges for custom coding work that they would have to undergo, in order to get you what you desire. But, hope you found what you were looking for from other apps.

My issue was needing to manage the inventory by product (and not by variant), but also needing customisations that added to price (which variants are ideal for, but line item properties can't add to price). So I tried this product. With little code experience, I struggled to get it to work initially. They resolved my help ticket within 48 hours. In this time, I decided to go with the variant solution, and manage the inventory manually myself. I may go with their product further down the line - it seems that the customised price was adding tax, which I will need for something else later. But I'm sure this could be fixed easily anyway. The fix seems that I was adding the {%include 'hulkcode_options' %} line to product_template.liquid in the qrong place... it should have been before the unless line below (around line 257 in my Brooklyn Theme). {% capture "form_id" %}AddToCartForm--{{ section.id }}{%- endcapture %} {% form 'product', product, class:form_classes, id:form_id %} {% unless product.has_only_default_variant %} Also, I didn't like the italicised font on the radio buttons, nor the spread of the 3 radio buttons. Probably easily fixable, but right now I don't have time. However, this app is definitely worth persevering with if you want to: maintain PRODUCT inventory (not of variants) but also add customisations that add to price

I love this app, and the team was super helpful to get it properly set up when I encountered some issues during installation. However, I'm only giving 4 stars because it does not work with the currency converter app I had... or any for that matter (I tried a few.) In the end I had to delete the currency converter app, because I need the product options more, but wish I could have both.

Unbelievable service and support, just wanted to say how amazingly quick you guys are, this app is everything i wanted in terms of product options, the only downside is that once you assign the Option Type and save it, you cant go back and edit the Option Type, you would have to delete it and create a new Option Type, not the end of the world and still a 10/10 app! recommended for every Shopify store, one way or another you will make a use out of this app :) Also a real bummer is that you cant apply discount codes! after months of hard work making the custom options, we went to do a black friday sale and the discount codes dont work with this app... very sad, i have tried everything to get them working even using other apps but just doesnt work. if they fix this issue i will give them 10/10
