Brevo PushOwl: Email,Push,SMS
All reviews
We were struggling to get the service set up and running. Brevo's customer service rep Reese refused to set up a 30 minute orientation call. Apparently we don't have a high enough subscription package. Don't be fooled. Unless you have a premium subscription package you can only receive email help where they will send you link to docs you have to sift through to try and find answers. They did find time to call me several times to try and sell me more email sends and a higher subscription package. The sales guy was trying so hard to keep me on the phone it was almost comical. I was holding my 11month old son who was crying and he asked if I could get on a 5 minute demo call. I told him no I needed to go take care of my son and he kept pushing saying "yes but it will only take 5 minutes of your time." Their work flow currently is -- if a brand new customer is struggling to get the service to work properly, deny an orientation call to get them in a good place and call them multiple times to get them sell them more stuff. We asked them to cancel the service once and they did not address it in their reply. We have asked to cancel it for a 2nd time. I will provide an update if they refused to address it again. Be careful with this company. They do not care about your marketing success only selling you more stuff. Would not recommend and would not use again even if they try to fix the horrible experience we have had. Disgusting company.
Doesn't work if you use a different email address for Brevo and Shopify. It'll create a second Brevo account. This is a known bug but they haven't patched it. No self closure for the erroneously created second Brevo account, so you'll have work with different support teams. For us we had one ticket for our actual account, one for PushOwl, and another for the erroneously created account. Easier for us to just manually export and import segmented Shopify lists.
MISLEADING INFORMATION AND WEEKS OF WASTED TIME I chose Brevo after providing very specific requirements and receiving explicit written confirmation on February 27 and March 2 that their platform supported "soft opt-in" automations for non-subscribers by their compliance team. After a month of troubleshooting and constant back-and-forth, I was finally told that their tracker technically cannot identify these customers by design. It is extremely disappointing to be given a 'green light' incorrectly, only to be told four weeks later, after countless tests and engineering tickets, that the app doesn't have the capacity I was promised. Even basic features like SKU-based filtering took an incredibly long time to set up, with support admitting they were learning the 'new feature' as we went. While the support staff were polite, there is a significant gap in the team's understanding of their own tool's capabilities. To then be told I was 'confused' by the original advice, which was actually very clear but simply inaccurate, is poor service. I’ve lost a month of business time on a setup that was never going to work.
20 dollars a month. Use to be free. Rip off!
This is app is frustrating to use, not intuitive. I came from Omnisend before and found it to be way easier to use. A few issues just today: -Slow response time in chat right before Black Friday. I have questions before launching my campaign on Black Friday and have not received a response for many hours. Most other Shopify apps I use have international support who can respond in minutes. There also isn't AI auto responder in chat to answer questions or refer to relevant help pages. They just put you on hold for hours. -No easy way to convert customers to email subscribers in bulk. I thought this would be a given. I select multiple contacts and there is no obvious way to convert them to email campaign subscribers. I can only add them to lists or segments. I also made a segment a few months ago and when I try to look at it, it is now a dead link (goes to error page) so I can't even access a list from 6 months ago. -In designer there is no way to have a multicolumn grid with synced products from my store. You can add a product block which allows you to sync only one product per row. If you want to have multicolumn you have to manually build image/text multicolumn by uploading your own images and filling in text, then linking to each product by pasting URLs. There should be an easy way to sync products automatically with a multicolumn product template. In conclusion, I am a computer savvy person and have had a Shopify store for 5 years. This app should be way simpler to use. I would recommend that Brevo take a look at these issues. Although more expensive, I found Omnisend to be very simple. I only switched because I don't send email campaign often enough to justify the monthly cost. If Brevo can not help with these issues I will be forced to cancel.
My head will explode if I have to watch that skateboarding owl again.
Terrible support and responsiveness to questions and requests. Push you to the managed services, and if you don't... They will direct you back to chat support, which is not ideal; I am now looking for other options. Just disappointed in it.
The app has done nothing but drive me nuts. The team has been supportive and responsive enough...but keep telling me the issues been escalated and they'll get back to me...they don't. Issues I've had (I'm based in Australia); - SMS will charge me based on number of contacts but not deliver...I've been refunded once because of this issue and thought I'd try again with a new campaign...no better. Awaiting a refund on this as well - Web Push; each time I need to buy more credits. I'm not on a small budget, I've paid for credits yet the campaigns get paused and they expect more credits to be purchased. Overall, the experience with the app has been well below expectations, super disappointed. Waste of time.
Horrible experience! In connecting the app and setting it up. So I decided to cancel on the same day, followed the agents instructions and cancelled and uninstalled the app, a month later, BOOM, charged! Won't recommend to anyone
Worse app ever which I did not choose to use but Brevo (which I was using) imposed in my Shopify store. No explanations, no tutorials. I have lost all new contacts because the double opt-in process was removed without informing me. Pushowl help centre is not customers-oriented, using a language only they can understand, so you are left with no help and no solutions. I am extremely upset
90% emails will go Spam folders. I used my base from Shopify store, they banned my campaign after 5-10 unsubscribes. I sent 3 emails to support within 2 weeks - no answers, probably they do not have support. Anyway, 90% email from them will go to spam, - read reviews on Reddit
Absolutely pathetic!! I wanted to migrate to omnisend but they are not migrating our push subscribers to the new platform. Just a trick to force users to stick to their platform. Have been chasing them for over 2 months but in vein. Have to start my subscribers from zero on omnisned. Lost 27000+ subscribers on their hand. It's a scam!! They deliberately do this to force you to stay!
After 5 years of using Klaviyo and MailerLite without issues, I decided to switch to Brevo for a cheaper option. After signing up, I was immediately contacted and told to request a refund and instead register via PushOwl. That was already a confusing start. After sending our first email campaign through Brevo, our account was immediately suspended due to bounce rate concerns. In all our years using Klaviyo and MailerLite, this had never happened - not once. I’m frustrated that I'm spending time and money jumping through hoops to meet the standards of what is, the cheapest and lowest rated email service of the 3. Brevo feels like a watered-down, knock off of Klaviyo without the features or reliability. While I do appreciate the pay-per-email pricing model, it comes at the cost of needless hurdles. Unless price is your only concern, I would not recommend Brevo. It may be an option for startups on a tight budget, but be prepared for added work and limitations. This experience has only motivated me to grow my business so I can afford to return to Klaviyo.
CS is super slow. The sign up is a mess with Brevo vs Pushowl. I first signed up on Brevo using my personal email. When I input my shop URL, it made me install the Shopify app. Which I did. But this seemed to have created a separate account under PushOwl because the email for Shopify was different. And now, without knowing the different accounts existed, after I kept working directly on Brevo, paid the first subscription, did all my CNAME verification, imported data from Mailchimp and after sending my first email, the CS told me I need to cancel the Brevo account, and use the PushOwl account. That is when I noticed this account thing is really messed up with this service. So confusing. And CS does not respond. I have to wait a day to get a simple reply.
Absolutely do not recommend this app at all. All I wanted to do was set up abandoned cart email. 24 hours later & still no resolution. Rubbish & waste of time.
