I can confirm that we can only support the barcode label sizes outlined in this resource -https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/hardware/barcode-printer/retail-barcode-labels#recommended-print-settings-for-barcode-labels - and we do not have a 1.5" x 1" label option. I have submitted this feedback to our development team and thanks for bringing it to our attention! There are some third party apps available in the App Store which may offer this option. Edited to add: yes that is what I said in my original review ->When using the app to create barcodes for items without a barcode, the system duplicates barcodes for several variants. We now have to recode and reprint. Not sure of the purpose of using a generator if we have to manually search for duplicates. It doesn’t work properly. I have had the issue with several different products.

When generating barcodes in the Retail Barcode Labels app you have several options to choose from; to create barcodes for all or specific products, to generate barcodes only for products without barcodes, or to replace existing barcodes with new ones. To avoid duplicates, we would advise making sure that you are definitely selecting the option to create barcodes only for products or variants that don't have barcodes yet. Impossible to create a custom label, so you have to use one of the provided settings / eventually change your printer of labels...

Very difficult to print label. Way too many clicks and now latest update has made it even more difficult to print or find out how to print lables using Zebra printer.

The app doesn't sync well at all. I'll generate bar codes, select them for printing, only for them to disappear, show up as duplicates, etc. which interrupts our workflow regularly. In addition, not sure if this is the fault of this app or Shopify in general - we have a lot of barcodes that will disappear or overwrite with a new barcode seemingly randomly, making ringing up items in our onsite location extremely time-consuming. It also really affects our ability to keep track of inventory accurately. Edit: None of the solutions offered by support (which is just AI) work, while the errors persist. Is there any way that we can send tickets to Shopify support, so that these errors can actually be worked on and fixed, instead of just blaming the user every time barcodes disappear, are overwritten, don't work, print out $0.00 etc.? Or are these issues part of the app? This is incredibly frustrating to deal with and makes Shopify borderline useless for on-site retail operations. We are looking into POSes with better support.

However, it is possible that existing ones could be overwritten if the *Replace any existing barcodes with new ones. Excellent product but one major floor. Even through the brother printer 810 is listed on the Shopify Hardware store as a supported printer, you are unable to get a compatible size label which works with the printer. Response, do it manually, or buy another printer, a one different to the one sold in the Shopify Hardware Store!!!!! This is almost discrimrty against people in australia and selling the printer is misleading. How hard is it to add another label size? Hope this gets sorted but guessing it will not, as any issues seem to be ignored. Would love to type more but have to go off and start creating all my labels manually so don't have time to type any more. To add a response the the comment from Shopify. The model you have listed below takes the same labels as the model I have posted. I will be exstatic if you can tell me which 'Product Label', not shipping label, that can be bought in Australia, that will work in the printer and be compatable with this software. I have replied to your email but no response! Thank you again.

The Brother 810 printer model is not listed as supported with the RBL app - please see that list here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/hardware/barcode-printer - and I'm only able to see the Brother QL Wifi Label Printer (QL-1110NWB) printer model as supported and sold in the Australian Shopify Hardware store. If you did purchase that printer from Shopify and were later told it was not supported, we can definitely investigate further for you. Hi there! Thank you for reaching out! The Retail Barcode Labels app itself does not provide a direct setting to increase the font size on barcode labels. However, you can customize the label templates within the app to adjust the layout and the information displayed. For more advanced customization, including font size adjustments, you might consider using a Dymo printer with Dymo Label software to print the labels, as this allows detailed design and that may include resizing of label elements including barcodes and text. We would advise confirming with Dymo directly to see if what you need is possible before doing so as they are best placed to confirm. Or you could use a third party barcode label printing app which offers that option. The Retail Barcode Labels app can only be used with supported barcode printer models, please see a list here for reference: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/hardware/barcode-printer#supported. IDRP label printers would not be supported for use with the app, which would be why your printer would be unable to print labels created there. You can purchase a supported label printer from your regional hardware store here - https://www.shopify.com/pos/store - or from a third party supplier of your choice (just make sure to verify the model name and number is on the supported list when buying from a third party). In the barcode template, you should see the option to deselect the **Display barcode symbol** option, please see this screenshot as an example of that option: https://screenshot.click/16-07-17867-74143.png. Once that is deselected and the template is saved, both the barcode and the barcode numbers should not be displayed on the label when printed. I have been using the app for 3 years now and it used to work fine, but now all of the sudden within the past couple of months, the app is automatically updating barcodes which prevents the labels on existing products from scanning. I keep re adding the barcodes and it continues to randomly change them. I'd love to know of a way to prevent this from happening.

It would be unexpected that the app would spontaneously create it's own barcodes, however, when you are creating barcodes for new products it is possible that the existing ones can be overwritten if the *Replace any existing barcodes with new ones. This app is an absolute joke. It has 0 support for Cyrillic alphabets, so it becomes absolutely unusable for our shop in Bulgaria. We’ve raised this to Shopify support several time over 2 YEARS, and still there is no support. Even though we are quite fond of Shopify to an extent, it often feels like the company is sloppy and not committed to maintaining and fixing their older apps.

It's just plain awful. Printing labels should be a one click and done process. This is very far away from being a functional product for brick and mortar shops. Shopify is a world class e-commerce platform. We've been flatly shocked at how empty the entire Point of Sale experience has been, and this app just personifies the entire journey. Lacks basic functionality. When we onboarded with Shopify - it never occurred to us that we should ask such absurd questions like - "does your platform have a way to print labels for products that is in keeping with the fact that we live in the year 2024?" Should have asked. Here we are after a 3-month migration to Shopify - wishing we could go back in time and know better.

this thing is a joke...they are trying to push POS and they can even have a lable printing softward tha works half way decent. - The issue is you can not edit the font size - every thing is just placed onto one line - if you print a barcode, then scan it on the POS it doesn't go to the actual variant. It goes to the main product then you have to choose manually the variant. So we sell clothing surf products so it only pulls up the main category then you have to actually manually enter in which size or color or whatever variant you have manually.

"Customization" is a joke. Only have two lines whether you have a barcode or not and the first line can only reference a single field. Can only show price, not compare at price?! Typical Shopify half-baked app.

ZERO STARS!! Do NOT waste your time. Constantly comes back with errors and will not generate barcodes. Followed all the 'fixes' suggested by support OVER and OVER and OVER and NOTHING works. This has cost me a ton of time and issues with my store.
