Retail Barcode Labels

This app needs support seriously!!!!! So many dymo labels aren't available is insane! really disappointed. EDIT: Dec 22. 2024. It stopped creating barcodes entirely. Update March 21 2024. Still not working at all. Support is non existent. So glad the experts at shopify are buying apps and killing them off forcing me to pay 12 bucks a month to make barcodes with another app.

I don't mind the number of screens, and I had no problems getting this app to function, but the following would really help 1. ability to print just one variant( we have products with 100 variants and its too hard to set all the quantities to zero for the ones you want to suppress) 2. the ability to print barcodes from a Shopify transfer using the quantity you are putting into stock (ie when receiving new stock and doing it via a transfer) 3. the ability to scan an existing barcode into admin- you can only doing this by putting the scanner into keyboard mode (which is pretty tacky). 4. the ability to shrink fonts when product name or variant titles are long.

Other reviewers are right. This app was a complete waste of time...after 3 lengthy phone calls with support still couldn't get it to work. Text gets cut off on labels. Support suggested I download 2 other browsers to try (didn't help )and then suggested trying to export the info via csv file directly to dymo softeware (those steps also didn't work and also seems way too complicated). Usually I am a fan of shopify but this app is a complete and utter fail. I purchased another app for $9.99 a month and it worked perfectly in the first 5 minutes and offers a lot of great user friendly options and customization. Do NOT waste your energy on this. It is time I should've spent on developing my business. Would gladly spend money than get something for free that doesn't work.

I realize this app was created to improve on the last app "Barcode Printer", which did have its problems, however, THIS APP IS AWFUL for printing many barcodes for different items. It's like 5 more steps to print each barcode and it doesn't even support the 1"x1" barcode that SHOPIFY SELLS ON ITS WEBSITE. You have to choose something close in size and the barcode looks bad. THIS IS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH SOLUTION. This is worse in many ways. At least with the former app, when it was set up and working properly, it worked fantastically. This app is junk. shame on the developers for pushing this crap out. Takes forever to get something simple done.

Amended review. Problems with printing seem to be fixed and the workflow makes a lot of sense now that I'm getting used to it.

Very difficult to create templates as they have EXTREMELY LIMITED OPTIONS FOR LABELS. I was trying to make tags from Dymo 30333 .5x1 labels but they are not recognized by this system. Not a great system but better than nothing since this all Shopify thinks we need. :(

This new version gets zero stars from me. I have a case of the Dymo labels from the old app to use and there is no template for them on the new app. I tried to grab something close, but half of the label is cut off and the print is tiny. I also have to take MORE steps to create and print barcodes...which I definitely do not have time for. If you're going to create something new...maybe it should be better? More efficient than the last? I cannot tell you how much I HATE this new version!

SOOOOOOO BAD!!! The other app so much better, this one cuts off half the product title, DO NOT LIKE! Will be using a new company, have been loyal for ages with the old app but this one is terrible.

The last barcode app is 100x better. All my product titles fit into the small 1X2 label. Now everything gets cut off and it's not aligned. I had to buy the bigger labels so the titles can fit, but it does not align. FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!

Not sure why I have to buy brand new labels because now they are printing Lengthwise instead of the original way. Please don't make this a "have to".

Terrible. Last one was so much more efficient. It takes more time, more screens, more steps... not as good.

Hate when you have an app that works great and it is replaced by one that takes a lot more steps to get my work done and it does not even print the labels correctly. Cons... -Way too may screens to just print labels -Defaults to the number of units you have on hand so in my case I need 1 label and it wanted to print 1125 labels. -Does not print centered on my Dymo labels (I actually can't use this app the way it is printing, it is just not the professional image I want for my company.) Pros -If you have not already invested in a label printer it will let you use your normal printer and label sheets -Can customize the labels a little more -If you never used the previous app, this one probably won't drive you nuts.

Every update is worse and worse. More work and more time spent, just to print barcodes. This is hands down the worst feature of Shopify and one of the most common. I really don't understand why they keep making this app more and more terrible.

It seems like Shopify's trying their best to make improvements, but this app is not very helpful yet. Pro... #1 I can now use it in Chrome on my PC! Woo hoo! Before in the old app you could only use it on a PC. I have an iPad, but there's no way to hook the printer up to an iPad. Here are my issues with it... #1 - I use the 30332 label and that paper size is not available for me when I go to actually print. #2 - Instead of auto reducing the size of the product title text, it just cuts it off which is frustrating. #3 - Creating Barcodes doesn't allow me to pick the size of the barcode from what I can tell in the directions. I'm too afraid to try it otherwise as we have over a thousand variants. #4 - It's great to save time at the checkout with barcodes, but it sure would be nice to have some sort of inventory update process. EX: Enter Inventory Mode... Scan a label and update how many you have on stock. #5 - Not sure how to fix this one, but if I just want to quickly print a few of one variant it's click intensive. Example: 1, Select All Products, type "product name" in search, select product, select more actions, select print barcode labels, find desired variant and enter 3 barcode labels to print, click inside and change the other 5-16 variants to 0, select print, select send to printer, select print again if your print options are correct. Total time: 53 seconds going as fast as I can.... I have to wait for many screens to load. Total Clicks: 10 including one click as typing in the product name. Dymo Software: 25 seconds and 6 clicks... clicks including typing the actual product name out. Conclusion... if the app assigns the correct style of barcode for the dymo printer, then I think creating barcodes for all your products would be awesome with this app. (The old app wouldn't assign the correct style of barcode for me to use the small LW barcodes) I won't be using it unfortunately to print my barcodes though until they get it to work with the 30332 paper size and work with less clicks. BTW... I'd be happy to be a tester if you guys need a client to test things out.

Half baked. The old barcode printer app was due for some improvements but it worked and this isn't an improvement. defaults to the total number of items in stock regardless of location. Loads of printer selection and print preview steps. When It actually printed for me the barcodes are unreadable by the scanner. Back to the drawing board.

The older app allowed me to print directly off the products page, I could click "Print Barcodes" and it would open a new page where you could enter how many Barcodes you needed printed for each variation of your item. Once you selected the amount, you clicked print, and the Dymo printer would start to print. This app is UNUSABLE. After selecting to print Barcodes for an item, it brings you to a page that has you select the template size of the barcode you are printing and Qty. This would be amazing if once you clicked "Print" on this screen it would allow you to print. But no, it opens up another page, for a "print preview" and asks you to click another time, "Send to Printer". Once you select that, it brings you to ANOTHER entire Tab/Page, where it prompts your printing settings, and doesn't even recognize the Template that you just choose, then on top of that, once you go thru the list of the paper size, the two codes we use 30332 and 30336 are not existent. If you now click "Print using System Dialog" it'll prompt ANOTHER print screen, where you can choose paper size again, and you can finally find the correct size template that you choose 4 pages back and 10 clicks ago. Now I hit print thinking I've finally acquired the tags I need. Nope, the Tops are cut off, hmm lets shrink it to 75% , nope the bottom is cut off. PLEASE LET ME DOWNLOAD THE OLD APP AGAIN!

Why did you replace an important app with something that doesn't service worldwide? Are you indirectly asking us to stop using your softwares? I spoke t o one of the developers of this app and came to know that this app doesn't support INR currency and hence we can't use this app. The other alternative is to use DYMO app but it has the most complicated interface. We can''t even export barcode labels like before. Extremely disappointed with Shopify. Old Review (December 2018) I started using this app since the barcode printer app started flashing that's its gonna get removed in March 2019. Its not picking the price of the product. Everything else gets printed but M.R.P. is not getting printed. We entered both Price and compare price to test but nothing gets printed in price field. Please help.

It's great. You can change the order of the data so it can show the price bigger. I would give it five star if it would print directly instead of open another page. My clients are compleining since the euro sign shows before the price and too close. They see € 4,95 instead of €94,95 and i should be 94,95 €

I love this app! Finally an easy way to make the labels and assign barcodes to products.....and this app is FREE!! This app is very easy to use and I am able to quickly create labels with barcodes.
