The barcodes generated from this app use the last 8 numbers from the variant URL in Shopify so occasionally it creates duplicates. This wasn't a major problem when I had a small inventory. I would delete the new products with duplicate barcodes and recreate them (the only fix I'm aware of). Now since my catalog has expanded I'm regretting not going with a paid barcode generator as I get a lot of duplicates and changing to a new provider will break reporting and syncing with other platforms. It seems that this problem could be fixed by the developers if they added more characters to the barcode instead of only using 8 characters.

Our Retail Barcode Labels Apps assigns barcodes to your products based on the last 8 digits of your product variant IDs and generally these are unique to each one. Even so, if a store has a very large number of products, there is a small chance that some of the variants can have the same 8 last digits, hence "duplicating a barcode" in such cases. This app does with a Rollo printer! I found a tutorial on YouTube to help me get barcode labels to print from this app on my Rollo printer. My laptop is quite ancient, so I have to use the Shopify app on my phone to create the labels and send them to my bluetooth Rollo. It's a little cumbersome, but it works and it's FREE!

When generating barcodes in the Retail Barcode Labels app you have several options to choose from; to create barcodes for all or specific products, to generate barcodes only for products without barcodes, or to replace existing barcodes with new ones. To avoid duplicates, we would advise making sure that you are definitely selecting the option to create barcodes only for products or variants that don't have barcodes yet. The basics of this app work well but I cannot understand why there isn't a feature for me to bulk upload the labels that I want to print via CSV. It is so time consuming having to individually select each product and fill in the amount of labels that I want to print. It seems like such an easy solution - its in place for plenty of other Shopify apps

The most basic label printing, not customizable. Can't include all the information needed on the size label we use. Other paid label printing apps are able to put everything we need on the size label we use, so it's possible.

Being free is the only good thing. Why would a barcode app that generates barcodes generate duplicates? That should not be possible. More disappointing though is the print quality from Shopify is terrible. We use a Dymo label printer and these barcode look awful and some wont even scan. If you print the exact same barcode through the Dymo desktop app it's flawless. What is Shopify doing to cause the barcodes to loose such quality? A fix for this would great.

The printing quality issue you described is strange, and there should not be a demonstrable difference between the two apps. It might be no harm to check your printer settings when printing with the Retail Barcode Label app, as the resolution settings might need to be optimised. This app should be connected to Stocky, so the labels could be printed directly from there. When printing on the app itself, on the drop down quantities page the Barcodes should show on each product, and that would be obvious!!

At this time there is no integration between the two apps, you would need to either print barcode labels from the Retail Barcode Label app or from the Stocky app, separately. My dropdown is no longer available on the product page. There is to much info on the labels I just printed from this app! You can nearly see the price

You should still see the option to print a barcode label with the app from your product page, just make sure you are on the parent product page if your product has variants, as the variant pages do not show that option. We are having issues with duplicate barcodes constantly. This is a major issue that is time consuming to fix and costs us money to print new tags all the time after discovering duplicate barcodes. We even use the app to create all of our barcodes and it still generates duplicates on a regular basis.

You can only have 1 saved barcode style - & if product has long titel cuts off colour ansd size

You absolutely should be able to save more than one barcode label template at a time, so that is strange. In relation to the issue where information is being cut off, that might indicate that the label in question is too small for the amount of text, or an unsupported printer or label size is in use, or because the printer settings have not been optimised. This app will no longer create barcodes for me. I have cleared my cache, reloaded my shopify, only selected one item at a time to create barcodes, and done the selection for create barcodes for all products with out barcodes. Nothing seems to work after trying 10x and the robot has offered all these suggestions-which I have done with no avail. Additionally, the app also don't not print multiple varients on my 1x1 labels. I am trying to switch over from lightspeed for my pos system, and lightspeed was able to get all my info onto these 1x1 tags no problem.

l'app improvvisamente non riesce più a creare i codici barre e continuamente indica che mancano. Ci segnala che manca un codice a barre di 1 prodotto, proviamo a crearlo, indica che è stato creato ma poi non lo visualizza nella stampa. Come può essere risolto questo problema?

Obviously I'm grateful to have this, it's indispensable for a brick-and-mortar with 2000 products. But it has a lot of unfortunate quirks that can be inconvenient in that environment. It won't populate fields if they contain certain combinations of punctuation marks. It won't render barcodes if that field has certain placements of space characters in it. Now and then it hangs or crashes when generating new barcodes for labels, and you have to start your print workflow all over again. Conversely, if it suddenly loses all functionality, it still indicates it's working. And you can go mad trying to work around those outages, but you just have to wait for the server to go back up.

no customization and needlessly needs to "create barcodes" which doesnt work sometimes and cant make labels for hours.

Honestly a life saver, we sell to grocery stores so I just buy my own UPCs online instead of letting the app generate their own. I just wish there was an option to print the barcodes of an entire order instead of having to go into the app every time and hand select what the order calls for, since I sell products on demand per order. I have been trying to get this feature added, please contact me, it would be game changing.

Hello, Thank you for your excellent Retail Barcode Labels app – I really like the concept and would love to use the app regularly! Unfortunately, I’m unable to purchase any of the label types currently supported in the app. I kindly ask if you could add support for the following label format: Avery Zweckform L4737REV-25 Label size: 63.5 x 29.6 mm Layout: 3 columns × 9 rows (27 labels per A4 sheet) Official template download: https://www.avery-zweckform.com/vorlage-l4737 Since this is the only label type I’m able to use, it would be extremely helpful if it could be added directly in the app – or if you could alternatively provide a compatible layout template.
