The service Signifyd provides decreases my risk of fraud so much more than the useful but rudimentary app from Shopify. It is well worth the cost especially when you consider the time it would take to gather and evaluate the information Signifyd does.

Wish I had this service thousands of dollars ago! I could not be more pleased!! My rep Stuart went above and beyond to help set me up and make sure I was fully protected! I've been burned many times with expensive Charge Backs so having this insurance will eliminate my role as Detective every time I receive a suspicious order. Thanks so much!!! Highly recommend!!

This is a computer program, not a real person looking at the information. When I agreed to the plan I was promised personal assistance to input the data from orders that where a couple days old and high security risk. I waited half the day for the decision but no one actually inputs data. Its a computer program, so I was told by support I had to enter the information myself. The orders I received after installing the program get entered automatically. Now its been almost a month. The program guarantees the Low Risk Only, Denied medium and high risk. Even denied guarantee the prepaid credit card payment. The website/app doesn't not work on my smart phone. Today went to look at the website and see I have 10 previous Cases but can't view them. How would know which orders are guaranteed or denied if I can't see the history? I'm cancelling this. I can do better on my own with the information I already get from shopify.

Just a great service. We started with the on-demand plan, and recently upgraded to the "Complete" plan. They've come through for us on every chargeback, although though we don't get very many. We can't compare it to other such services, since we haven't ever used such before, but they're great, and stellar customer support too (Tony being a standout).

Do you ship 50+ orders a week on you Shopify store? Are you annoyed with constantly having to back check customers ordering from your website? These guys are for you. Within days we upped our revenue by: A) not having to contact the customer. B) not having to spend time with orders that were possibly fraudulent. C) not having to refund customers we would have otherwize without Signifyd Crazy easy to set up and mega convenient for medium to large volume shipping. Customer service they provide is on point too! Even if you are not worried about fraud, you need this app. It alerts you when it suspects fraud and gives you the info and tools to investigate cases...all for free.

Installed this app after we had a case of fraud. It adds another layer of protection and helps to check suspicious orders. It also rates each customer and sends email alerts when the score is below certain recommended number. Must have app.

This is a must have app. We received an order with billing and shipping addresses the same and a low risk from Shopify. In the old days, we would have shipped, confident that it was a good sale. Today, we use Signifyd to avoid this. In this case, one of my employees did not realize the guarantee was still in review and shipped anyway. Signifyd came back and said the order appeared fraudulent and we quickly contacted FedEx and had the package stopped and returned to us. That would have been a loss of several thousand dollars. Not only did we avoid a loss and chargeback, but by having a record of no chargebacks helps maintain a relationship with the payment processor. I cannot understand how any merchant would not use this app. Now, if only they come up with a fraud protection app!

if u own a eCommerce website this is prolly the number 1 thing your going to need.. plus there customer service is great .. Tony Neves was great when it came to my chargeback issues

Excellent tool to check for fraud and it is very cost effective. I just wish it had the ability to exclude Paypal orders since those are much lower risk.

Update: I know there are some poor reviews just before mine. I suggest you dig deeper into the reviews before you decide since there are some very good ones that I based my decision on before I got this app. To be fair. I like their fraud detection reports since they "explain" and rate the safety of a transaction. They're much nicer than my last fraud detection app, which basically told me nothing. Their customer support is excellent. Very helpful and supportive. I have had this app for about a month and haven't had any chargebacks so I can't speak to that yet. If I ever do, I'll update my review. My thanks to Signifyd support for your quick help on everything I've asked you about.

Worthless. These reviews must be fake or these people are delusional. They won't guarantee an order unless there's no doubt it's legit - so what's the point of giving them a cut since Shopify itself does a good job of telling you that??

UPDATE: Their customer service contacted me and sorted everything out, as well as promised to more accurately disclose what types of fraudulent chargebacks are covered. So I'll keep the app for now and I gave them an extra star on this review. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Honestly this app seemed too good to be true and I should have known better. Their marketing makes it seem like if you receive a chargeback on a "guaranteed" order that they will pay out no questions asked once you receive a chargeback. I found out the hard way that this isn't true. After giving them a percentage of every single order for about three months I received my first chargeback on a "guaranteed" order. The chargeback was an "85 Credit Not Processed", which as many e-commerce merchants are aware, is when the customer lies and claims that they sent back a product for a refund and never received their money back. The process of submitting paperwork to Signifyd was easy, and they even offer multiple methods of payment since Paypal refuses to work with companies in my industry. The next day I received an email stating that this type of chargeback wasn't covered. Here is the complete email: "Signifyd reimburses for chargebacks resulting from an unauthorized use of a payment instrument, also known as a fraudulent transaction. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse this chargeback as the reason indicates a credit or refund dispute. The 'Credit Not Processed' chargeback reason usually means that the cardholder completed a return of the purchased items or cancelled the transaction, but did not receive the credit to their account. To avoid this type of chargeback, it is strongly recommended to share your return policy with the cardholder before completing the transaction. In addition, always issue the refund promptly and notify the cardholder once it has been completed. If the merchandise was not returned to you or the transaction was not cancelled, you can fight this chargeback with your processor by providing relevant information and demonstrating that the customer is not entitled to a refund. Disputing a chargeback needs to be done within the specified period in order to recover your funds. Thanks, Signifyd Claims" After taking a percentage of every single order for over three months, when it finally came time for them to uphold their end of the bargain, they refused. Not to mention the condescending nature of the email, implying that it's my fault that a scumbag customer tried to lie about returning merchandise, and that it could be prevented if I had a return policy publicly available (which I do). When I emailed them about this they completely ignored the email. I have yet to receive a response from Signifyd even acknowledging that I attempted to reach out to them. The reason for two stars instead of one star is because their fraud detection system is actually really good. It gives you a breakdown of all the info about the customer and is fairly useful when deciding whether to fulfill a questionable order. It should be noted that when scrolling through most of these reviews, a large amount of the five star reviews are from companies who are just starting out and haven't received any chargebacks yet but are wowed by all of the data on the backend. It really is good. But I have a feeling that if they get to the point where they have to actually try to get money back from Signifyd that they'll change their mind about those five stars. Bottom line: If you're looking at this service thinking that it's going to be the answer to all of your fraudulent chargeback problems, look elsewhere. They're just like any other type of insurance company in that they will make lofty promises when looking to take your money but they look for any and every reason to deny your claim when it's time to pay up. As an owner of an e-commerce company I strongly dislike overly entitled customers who attempt to spread negative reviews online, but in this case this company truly deserves the negative publicity.
