The WhatsApp for Shopify app stopped sending order notifications without any changes on my side. When I investigated, I found that the app had silently lost its connection to my WhatsApp Business Account — the partner sharing between my account and the app was gone, with no notification or explanation. My phone number is set up using Meta's own Coexistence feature, which is specifically designed to allow a number to work on both the WhatsApp Business mobile app and a business platform like this one, simultaneously. Despite this being a supported Meta feature, the app flagged my number as 'Ineligible' when I tried to reconnect, essentially locking me out. Trying to manually restore the connection in Meta Business Manager fails silently with 'Unable to assign assets'. There is no way to fix this from either the Shopify side or the Meta side without a technical escalation that merchants have no direct access to. The result is that a core feature of the app — automated order notifications — simply stops working, with no warning, no fix available to the merchant, and no clear customer support path. For a business relying on this for customer communication, that's a serious reliability problem. In other words, they failed miserably exactly at the feature they say they support: the Coexistance feature. With no way to restore or fix the problem. The support is non-existent. META Business Suite, Whatsapp, or Whatsapp Business - none can offer any help with that despite contacting them all. The hoops and loops you have to go through to verify a damn phone number are beyond belief. It's as if you're doing such an important thing as the Moon Landing - that many security features it has around that, which eventually, inevitably, fail. I just don't understand their obsession with having to use a phone number in one place only, and when they attempted a Coexistance feature (so you can use the number across different apps), it failed miserably. The app is now dead, sitting there idle, not doing anything. I'll have to uninstall it if nobody from customer support replies. It's been many days already and nobody replied to the Support message I sent here.
