AfterShip Order Tracking

We contacted support twice over a week with no response. We were excited to use the app but support is absent.
Hi team, apologies for this. I was unable to find any request raised from you to support. We have reached out on your email address. Do let us know, how we can be of assistance.
Be aware!! They are charging extra for SMS notifications!! They hiding those fees! Don't turn SMS notifications unless you want to pay extra!
Hi, Please note SMS charges are determined by the local carrier at your end or the location to which parcel is and these charges may vary as per the location. These charges are not included within the plan charges. Also, you can find the sms pricing at our pricing page as well (https://www.aftership.com/pricing).
Really shocked by how terrible their customer service is. We know our business doesn't matter to them...but we're disappointed that their service makes that so painfully clear.
What I really hate is a premium priced app with horrible support. You know when they don't answer your question. I can't say anything about the app as for me it didn't work and I didn't get the answers I was looking for. So cannot use it and probably will stop trying.
Waste of time - stopped supporting my major courier, to quote their support "as of now". Wasted couple hours setting it all up. Installers beware - Royal Mail is not supported in this app "as of now"
I used this app, it's so bad. I can't import my ship imformation. It's always failed. And there is something wrong about the sync with shopify, not all order s are sync. Some orders are missing. And I can't connect the customer service.
Only works with USPS. The orders get sync with Deutsche Post, but the status remains "pending". Useless for any one outside of the US.
Hi, please check your email inbox. Please confirm your availability for a call.
It's way overpriced. Support is a joke. Doesn't have any feature that you can't find elsewhere for half price and better support.
Can not accept returns past 60 days. Support is slow and can't really give a clear answer to any of our questions
Doesn't support most UK services with Royal Mail so it just ignores them... Used them for years but they don't seem to have any interest in fixing this - it used to work...
At first it worked well, but now there is an annoying bug which has never been resolved for months! Some tracking codes will display WRONG DATA (from other tracking codes!!!) and SEND WRONG NOTIFICATIONS to my clients. When you check with 17track, it is clear that Aftership is mixing in Bullshit data. So you often end up having an automatic email being sent to a client saying his package was taken by Customs or lost/ that the customer needs to pay an extra fee, when it actually didn't even leave China yet. Or that it is in another country like the Netherlands when it never meant to be there. The customer answers desperately and then you have to explain to them that your email is wrong, the aftership tracking link you sent them is also wrong, and they have to disregard that all and next upcoming messages. I even had some customers canceling/ chargebacking me due to Aftership sending wrong tracking code updates :( So you get an extra support burden, you lose clients and you are paying USD99 for it! Congrats! I have reported it 5 times, but they don't ever contact their developers to correct their mistake. They simply correct individual cases, but never the root cause of the problem that keeps generating new bugged tracking notifications. That is why I am strongly thinking of moving to another Tracking solution that does not mislead my clients. Unfortunately I can't recommend this app to anyone.
We were automatically billed after the free trial period expired without notice or the ability to select a pricing program. Even worse, they do not respond to support emails.
We installed the app to keep track of our fulfilment process. We set up the app and we installed both the Shopify app and the fulfilment supplier app on aftership. Aftership synced orders twice from both sources and created duplicated tracking numbers for almost every order. It was a bit of a nightmare. Aftership shouldn't sync orders with the same Name or ID, or at least flag it as a duplicate.
Doesn't work. Klunky UI. Pesters you for reviews befre you have even used it and then keeps asking all the time. I can only assume that these thousands of 5 star reviews are from muppets that have not actually used the app and just reviewed after installing?
A perfect 5/7 for billing incompetence. TL:DR - For the love of god. don't. give. them. your. credit. card. details. Where do I begin? 1. Hearing good things, I Install the app to poke around, see what's what. 2. Chose the "free" plan. Cool, cool cool cool. 3. Wake up a few weeks later, charged $12954 USD on the old VISA card. 4. Emailed Aftership; "Hey, so, you know that *free* plan I signed up for?" 5. Aftership explained that their "Forever Free Plan" was actually a *new* plan, and I had unwittingly managed to rack up over ten thousand dollars worth of charges without so much as a notification, or automatic plan upgrade (like every single other app in the universe would do). 6. After some back and forth via email, Aftership VERY kindly refunded me $11,955 USD, costing me $999 USD for my mistake - fair enough. Maybe I misinterpreted the meaning of the "free" plan. Fair shake of the ol' sauce bottle. 7. Fast forward to the beginning of the next month (today), I receive a credit card charge for $4355 USD, PLUS another $599 USD. I proceed to laugh, assume this is a sick joke - surely, SURELY Aftership, after charging me over ten thousand dollars, then refunding me over ten thousand dollars, would have fixed the billing mistake. 8. I check my selected plan - it's the $599 option. .... .... Bueller?
I also DID NOT APPRECIATE THE EMAIL I JUST RECEIVED WITH THE F WORD IN THE TITLE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How is it possible that EVERY username that I could come up with including my name was taken? Fraud....? Collecting info maybe...?
Fucking email spammers fuck off. All I did was look at this fucking app and you fucks are spamming me daily with fucking bullshit..FUCK OFF
Most apps cancel your subscription after you delete it from your Shopify site. These guys will happily keep charging until you find out for yourself. Reflects badly on the Shopify brand as well to let customers be shafted in this unscrupulous manner.
We're a sizeable D2C brand selling globally across 36 markets. Been on AfterShip for tracking for 4+ years. Hands down one of the worst vendor relationships we've had. BILLING TRAPS We started on a smaller tier when the business was smaller. As we scaled, AfterShip quietly racked up ~$30k in overage charges over the years. Nobody from their team ever reached out — no flag, no plan change suggestion, nothing. Their billing runs on their own platform, not through Shopify, so unless you're manually auditing their invoices you won't even notice. Any decent vendor would proactively right-size your account. AfterShip just kept collecting. SUPER SALES PITCHY - ALWAYS TRING TO UPSELL INSTEAD OF HELPING To give you an idea of how bad their after sales service is after we upgraded to their Pro tier to avoid the overages ($5-7k/year), we asked for a proper technical audit — someone to review our setup, QA our config, make sure we're using the high-ROI features. Instead we got a 1.5 hour pitch for their returns product and even higher tiers. When we asked for an actual technical call, they said we'd need to upgrade again to get that level of support. We've spent $40k+ with this company and they won't even help us use the product properly. BOTTOM LINE AfterShip treats growing brands as cash cows, not partners. We are in the process of switching away and exploring ParcelWILL, TrackingMore, or LateShipment.com. I recommend checking these 3 (our research landed us here) for better pricing transparency, comparable carrier coverage, and you won't get nickel-and-dimed with hidden overages for years on end. Save yourself a very expensive lesson.
