free version...nothing is free. Even if you manage to do some changes manually, they go away once you uninstall.
Hi TheHolyArt, I've read your recent feedback about our app and apologize for the confusion. Our app's Free version is limited to one feature only: optimizing image alt tags or alt-text(bits of image-related code) so that your product images are ranked higher on Google Images. Also, I want to clarify that uninstalling the app doesn't remove the alt-text/tags added by our app's free version, those will be permanent since our app has access to your image alt tags/text on your Shopify admin. I used Booster SEO over the last few months, before ultimately deciding to stop using it over the last few weeks as I transitioned to doing technical SEO work more manually. The app is easy to install and automatically works on technical SEO work for you, which is nice. However, the main issue with this app is that it is quite vindictive if you ever stop using it and try to uninstall it. Using Ahrefs Site Audit as a reference, before installing Booster SEO and working on technical SEO my site audit score was an 89. Partly with Booster's help, as well as with manual technical SEO work (fixing broken links, adding manual 301 redirects, removing unnecessary webpages, etc.) that I did with my internal team we got this score up to a 99. However, after removing Booster SEO the score dropped to a 66 since Booster SEO removed my title tags on the way out, as well as undid the fixes that they made. They are transparent on undoing changes they made if you uninstall, but it looks like they will go even further than that and change things that they did not fix in the first place. So I would think long and hard about starting to use this app, and would recommend taking the time and effort to work on technical SEO manually which I think will pay off in the long run. The other issue with Booster is that the 301 redirects for broken links that Booster sets up are not very smart. All 301 redirects that Booster sets up automatically go to the homepage, which is not a great experience both from a user experience as well as apparently (according to my SEO agency) in Google's eyes. It would be a lot more valuable if Booster tried to guess what the most relevant page was to redirect to, and then the user could approve/disapprove these proposed 301 redirects.

When uninstalling Booster SEO, only the app's meta tags are removed, while the default meta tags from your theme remain intact. It is common for SEO apps to leave the theme's page title and meta description commented out for technical reasons. Additionally, our app creates a backup copy of your theme.liquid folder, allowing you to revert your theme back to its original state. Regarding the redirection of broken links, our Autopilot feature enables bulk editing of redirect destinations. This gives you the ability to specify the desired destination URL for each broken link, directing visitors to the most relevant pages on your website instead of the homepage. However, we'd be happy to look further into this for you. Upon deleting the app, my product page Tabs are set to "Facebook" for some reason. All my product pages, the tab says "Facebook". All my Meta data was gone upon deleting the app. For the homepage, it just displays the link on the tab. Before it the name of the store. This was NOT the case before installing this app. There are MANY other reviews who share the same experience. STAY AWAY! -- EDIT -- I was told the app doesn't "add any code" to my HTML and upon checking it DID! They literally LIED. Upon removing this code, my tab titles went back to normal. Still checking the other META DATA. Horrible app.

So sorry to hear that the meta title of your site changed to Facebook after uninstalling our app. Uninstalling our app should automatically re-enable your meta title from Shopify, however, looks like that is not the case here with your site's theme. I'm sure the app works for many people but for me I didn't like the changes it made to my URL's. But the worst part was when I uninstalled the app it removed MOST of my ALT-Text from images which existed before the app was installed. I contacted support and there was nothing they could do other than apologise. It's not fair to offer an app that when the subscription is cancelled, it removes hours of hard work which was put in BEFORE the app was installed. I have about 300 images I need to go and add image text to now.

However, I checked and noticed you had activated the paid features that have our SEO improvements about a week ago. Something to note is that any changes due to our app cannot have had any effect on your traffic or sales at this point. SEO improvement is a gradual, long-term process because of how Google and other search engines work. It takes Google up to several weeks to update its listings of your pages, so changes from the app do not immediately appear in Google results. It takes even longer for SEO to start making an impact on your site traffic and sales: 4 to 6 months on average, because of how search engines track SEO. So any changes due to our app cannot have had any effect on your traffic or sales at this point. We would like to help you in your SEO journey using our app and turn around your overall experience. We first ran in to issues when compressing out store images (it got stuck at about half way) - this was resolved by the dev team within a few days. Unfortunately we then ran in to a similar issue when renaming the alt tags of our images, it wasn't clear which images had been renamed and which hadn't andthe ap seemed to get stuck in a constant loop. We reached out to support who were particuarly unhelpful this time, however they did say we could have a refund. We've since emailed the support team requesting a refund, we haven't had a reply, wouldn't recommend.

As a 14-year SEO, I've used many utilities for my own personal sites as well as for my clients. I had done in-depth research prior to suggesting this application to my client, this seemed to have been the best. However, I've experienced a series of failures on behalf of the team of Booster. Image compression only gets done one day out of the week, and as of now, my client has yet to get image compression done, even after many, many emails back and forth with the company. Many promises were made, but none were kept. My client depends on my work and my suggestions, and when a company I put faith in drops the ball, my agency's reputation is on the line. I've done my best to work with them on a number of related issues, but none have worked out. All these glam reviews you see are mostly from someone's "chat experience", and not the experience from the utility itself. I have had to work many hours each week to compensate for the lackluster utility, will be removing it the moment I get my client's site perfect again, within days. Lastly, do not use the URL optimization tool. This will create all new URLs and redirects. I never touched it, nor will I ever. The reason your improvements do not "stick" when you uninstall the app is that the data cannot be stored by Shopify, but we must store them on our servers. The monthly subscription covers that and other costs associated with the app's ongoing functionality, such as monitoring your store for new and updated products, keeping your SEO code up to date, and funding support and development work on the app. Also when you uninstalled the app, it will only remove the meta tags created by the app and default meta tags from your theme will stay. There are cases when most SEO apps are uninstalled, the app can't auto-remove its code snippet because it no longer has access to your theme files. All SEO apps on the app store also leave the theme's page title and meta description commented out, for the same reason. Our app actually creates a backup copy of your theme.liquid folder, so that you can use it to revert your theme back to its state before you installed our app. I'm sorry if this was not more clear in our app's documentation. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. It will destroy your store. It changed all the links for my products and caused broken links. When i contacted them about it i was told the app should not of done that and someone will contact me.right away. 2 days later they emailed me and said there is nothing they can do. So many better apps out there. Don’t risk your store.

I read your recent app store review and we sincerely apologize if we didn't manage to resolve the issue sooner. 😔 Our app actually has the "Revert all" button that can revert all the changes it made with your product URLs. Please note that URL Optimization is a technique/process under which we optimize the URL structure of a website page in order to make the web page more understandable for search engine crawlers. Our URL optimization feature will change the URL of a product based on its product title. Because it changes the URL, if you have customers that have saved the previous URL and tried to access it, then it will lead to a 404 page or broken link. When a URL appears in Broken Links, it does not necessarily come from a broken link on your site. It just means that someone tried to visit that URL on your site, but there is no page for that URL - this is kinda expected if we will optimize a URL or change it, which is what URL Optimization does. Often the old links/URLs are on an entirely different site, which is the case if you used them for backlinks, which will also lead to 404 pages if you changed the URL. Whatever the cause of a broken link, no harm is done to your SEO as long as the nonexistent page has a redirect to an existing page on your site—and our app takes care of that automatically with our broken links redirect feature. 👍 Again, I am very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Upgraded from free to Pro, setup with care and detail for best results, left it running for 4 months and it has gradually reduced my sales and almost entirely destroyed our organic search results. Clear drop in sales compared to previous year and previous months,... now based on my research by uninstalling it I face ever worse results as the app does significant damage when removed, wiping out previous SEO improvements on it's way out.

terrible experience they didn't care customer service at all I have no idea why do they make apps and didn't care anything about it

Used it for a while, did not do anything for my seo and did not work properly, it's very expensive app, not worth a penny in my opinion.
Thank you for your feedback Kwiketo team. I understand that you have concerns about the effects of our app on your site, as well as the price. I would love to have you re-install so that we can look into this and address those issues. SEO is definitely a long game, and although it's hard for stores to see instant results, it's something that takes time to work at over time. UPDATE!!! As the team was so nice and kind, I decided to give it another go. Also, with do many positive reviews on here, I thought maybe the first time something went wrong WORST DECISION EVER. Installing the app has NUKED my organic reach - even Google does not understand it . i spoke with them, this app may have actually a NEGATIVE impact on your google search results LOL... Additionally, I reached out to SEO Optimisation Support and NO ONE has come back to me to explain what’s going on. A whole day of no traffic to my website, and a customer service that does not respond. It’s been 8 hours. Hence I’m leaving this review as I’m sure I’ll now receive a message….? I hope Please do not make the same mistake as I did (twice) and avoid at all cost. Terrible - after installing this app I’ve lost EVERY organic reach coming from Google. Products didn’t show up anymore in google and I’m now going into Christmas season with a destroyed website due to this app. They did offer me a full refund though, clearly indicating they know that something in their code messed up my entire website. I will rebuilding it from scratch now myself with google analytics and other free google resources, hoping I can salvage things! AVOID!
Update: November 9th 2021 Hi Lunar James team, After talking with our developers, we have never seen our app affecting Google Ads or any other Google services besides Google Search, so it is puzzling to hear that you've been having these issues. Our sincerest apologies. What could be occurring is another SEO app conflicting, which can cause can cause issues with Google. DO NOT BLINDLY RUN THIS APP IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH SEO! So many elements of the website are now broken and overridden. It's basically like building the site from scratch again in terms of linking, descriptions, etc. — Site Developer

Initially looked great, easy one-click solution. After adding, my indexable pages dropped from around 10 pages in Google to 3. I removed the app. Guess which pages lost title and meta description, cutting organic trapping to a fifth? All of them. Absolutely nuked my organic traffic. Had to restore a (LUCK!) backup of my previous theme.liquid file. Honestly, kinda garbage. God knows how many thousands lost.

I GIVE 1 star because I get a offer for 21$ lifetime pro month and 21 days trial accepted it i still in the free plan and of course i spoke with the service and thy said this was a small problem that will be soon resolved i said ok is december but i can wait after 5 days i asked again and they said you have to wait more days and my trial was going this made me mad but they said they will give me the 21 days back so after 10 days i asked if now the probllem is resolved and they said i have to wait and they are working really hard for it after 2 weeks i was upset and said this is taking to long and everytime you say i have to wait so after 21 days and after the trial was gone and the PROBLEM still they charged me 31$ and i was DISPLAYED as FREE PLAN i spoked really angry and they said i have to disinstall the app and they will refund me and i did now they are saying i have to wait but i am not stupid i go to my lawyer and contact shopify and the bank to not give them the money

WOW I just look into my shopify Billing and guy been charging my account since September 2019 ! That is outrageous. This is super unprofessional to charge fees on apps that been uninstalled for YEAR! I will escalade this to shopify. You guy owe us 425$. Please act quickly. I don’t wanna to see any of you apps fees on my billing EVER again!

I replaced an old SEO app with this one and this app actually ended up getting me removed from several first pages of google where I was getting all my organic search from. Seems to be doing my ecommerce store worse than doing any good. Now I have to re-do the countless hours of work I put into my website SEO, very disappointed in this app.

I contacted this app several times, regarding the issues, it doesnt work with google rich snippets/json as advertised you can check to see if your google rich snippets is working, by googling "google rich snippets" click on the link to test your site. When this app is turned on it wont even register in google. In fact when using this app I have a huge decline in sales, When I canceled and I turned off this app off I made way more sales, The app owner contacted me said hed make changes begged me to cancel my bad review and turn it back on and promised me my old pricing. after 4 months of waiting absolutely nothing, Im not stupid I can tell if anything has been changed nothing has. Im still being charged 24.99 which is deceptive. Now if this app actually did what it said it would do it be worth at the most 9.99 a month but at 24.99 a month this is just outrageous. Shopify doesnt check or regulate these apps. This app should be removed for false advertisement.
