I will be cancelling my account due to doubling the price. There are other apps that provide the same type of product which are more reasonable. The app works reasonably well, but giving it a one star for the insane price increase and the inconvenience of needing to find a new app and install.

I've been using Privy for almost a year and I am so frustrated by the app and their customer service. When I went to cancel I lost access to my account immediately even though I paid for the month. They said this information is clearly stated in their help articles when really it should be stated when you go to cancel your account And the right thing to do would be to prorate a refund depending on when the customer cancels... In terms of the capability of the app its 100% not worth the price. There are so many bugs and the capabilities are lacking. For $200/month I'd rather pay for Klaviyo to have access to better features and better customer service. Honestly, I would never use Privy again nor would I recommend other businesses use it.

They sent an email out saying there would be a SMALL price increase, but did not state the amount. They said you would see the increase on your next bill, of which it was doubled.

I have been a customer for almost a year. Today we got word that the basic plan is doubling from $15 a month to $30. Like many small businesses this is not an easy time. I am basically being asked to pay double for no extra features. So much for any customer loyalty.

The process to add legitimate emails to your email list is too time consuming and unnecessarily complicated. Once they have signed you on, support disappears. They also...send emails offering to help your business, but when you reach out, these emails has always ended up a waste of time for me.

BEWARE! They stole my money for over 12 months. I cancelled our account via my Privy account but because the app was still installed on Shopify they continued to take money out of our account and will not refund even though they can see we cancelled. USE KLAYVIO INSTEAD!!!

DO NOT USE PRIVY! Absolutely horrible to deal with. Also, in this industry, who who works 9-5 Mon - Friday?? We need assistance on the weekends and after hours. but that aside, I have never dealt with customer service so unprofessional. Use anyone else. We used Privy for about 5 years gathering up over 4,000 verified contacts and then we rebranded our company. EXACT same products, EXACT same containers but a different look and our customers were ALL AWARE of the change but everything was still the same, we just didn't like the old name or the old owner (long story). When we imported the contacts into our new account, Privy wouldn't let us email them. I explained everything to them and that we had actually used PRIVY to acquire these contacts legitimately. They didn't care. They said "Too bad." All those years working to build an email list all for nothing. DO NOT USE PRIVY.

Merchants are not able to have merchant's who opted in for one business be moved over to another business. • This aligns with the laws and regulations, CAN-SPAM and CASL, put into place to protect the recipients. • General Support availability varies by channel; we do offer support during the weekends. Beware: Like all other reviews I got caught in Privy's scam, they initially quote you $45 a month and then months later they start charging you $120 more a month, which they tell you that since I have gotten more emails I am charged because of it, I used it for one pop up and one abandoned cart email campaign, which neither helped to gather more emails. This app left a bad taste in my mouth on how these apps can change their amount of payment without letting you know. $165 a month for an app is not worth it, especially Privy is not worth it. Alas, I do see there is a pattern of this behavior in the reviews.

Beware! I'm charged twice for this app - emailed shopify who notified them so they could get in touch but never heard a think. Received my latest invoice and again charged twice!! I have removed the app which I also believe to be detrimental to SEO since they are the largest impact on slowing down a website and tabs that get in the way of navigation

We used this app for years, they monetized their old customers raising the prices considerably 2-3 years ago when they got a new CEO. Service haven't improved much, just a monetization technique. The app is not worth the price at all and haven been slowing down our page for all these years paying a great sum. Also they make it very difficult to remove the app and all scripts in the shopify store, there is no information readily available how to uninstall their scripts.

Outrageous fees. They will bind you into a contract for months and force you to pay a termination fee if you decide to switch.

After March of 2023, the paid plan will be moved to monthly and can then be cancelled. This will not cancel when changing to monthly, so please contact us at that time to help. I'm just going to keep this short and sweet. Test everything before you commit to a subscription. Their email capabilities may cause more problems than actual benefits, in which may even negatively impact your business. Sales team is too pushy and doesn't seem to care about your needs or concerns. All they care about is upgrading you to their latest plans and keep calling me non stop. Bad experience overall period.

Terrible experience so far let's hope it gets better. Have been charged for a month when we specifically said we weren't ready to use it until a certain date. then have asked questions and haven't even had the decency to reply yet. My hope is that it's just that one individual who is a bad egg and not the entire team.

Beware - you will get ripped off! Signed up for a $15 per month plan because I only needed popups. Several months later, I see a $60 charge on my account. I contacted support to ask them about this, and they said they had sent an email out (which I never received) which said that their pricing tiers were changing based on the amount of customer emails. Very underhanded and shady if you ask me, and I'm sure this happened to a lot of people. I've canceled my account and will never deal with them again.

I started with the free version of this app a very long time ago for just a pop-up. Works great, but OMG the pricing is now a disaster. I am hounded constantly to add their email marketing and now with only 2 weeks notice a 3.5 times monthly price increase ($20 to $70). It is just nuts. I was also told the $20/month price was "locked in" forever. I use MailChimp and they include a free pop-up so going to drop Privy after many years. I really suggest staying away from Privy as everything seemed to change for the worse after they were acquired by a new company.

Canceled Privy 6 months ago. But it continues to withdraw money from the bank, also it’s double amount, 60USD! The support tell different stories everyday. The app already debited money from the bank account 12 times. Promised refund, but it’s not! Close that scammers immediately!

I tried again because of all of the great reviews. I sent a newsletter to about 200 contacts. I tested the mail send to myself clicked all the links NO PROBLEM! Then when I send the mail I get a bunch of responses saying the links take them to a broken web site because the email is marked as a spam sender. I messaged Privy and they said they recommend changing the auto sender address which I didn't see anywhere as an option to my personal email instead of theres. I look like an idiot in front of 200 people now. The solution is next time change the sender. TELL ME THAT BEFORE. Why oh why does this service suck so bad :( This app worked well for a few months. When my free trial ended (wasn't aware it was a trial or it would end) I wasn't notified. This app is about notifying people and THEY DIDN'T NOTIFY ME! I had over 1500 visitors to my website in one week and checked to see why I wasn't getting their emails and this poor company didn't send me a pop up email or sms to tell me I need to now pay for the service, which I would have done. Crazy right. There are other services out there don't make the same mistake I did. After telling them this happened they said nothing we can do would you like to pay for the upgrade. Not great customer service.

We used the pop up function for free for years. Now it is significantly overpriced. The app significantly reduced website speed even when it wasn't functioning.

They cancelled my account because they dont allow services for "Pharmaceutical Sales", except our product is not Pharmaceutical, its a gym supplement which contains only natural, legal ingredients.

Absolute crazy been using the app since Feb 2021 and sending over 20k emails per day , 3 days ago they FORCED me to sign a 3 month contract , the very next day my account is blocked because it has not conformed to regulations .YOU BUILT MY DATABASE FROM SUBSCRIBERS !!!! HOW CAN I NOW BE AT FAULT , THIS IS JUST AS GOOD AS STEALING MY MONEY I WILL ISSUE A STOP PAY AT PAYPAL !!!
