Unreliable App – Causing Significant Business Losses I’ve been using the "Product Customizer" app for some time, and unfortunately, I’ve faced numerous issues that have seriously impacted my business. Most recently, the app completely stopped allowing customers to add products with file uploads to their cart, which has caused a major loss in sales since this morning. This is a key feature for my store, and when it doesn’t work, it directly affects my revenue and customer experience. This isn't the first issue I've experienced. Previous bugs with the app have also disrupted my business, and while support has been responsive in the past, the frequency and severity of these bugs have made it difficult to rely on the app for consistent performance. As a business owner, I depend on reliable tools, and these ongoing problems have made it challenging to trust this app. I hope that future updates will address these issues, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this app to other store owners who need reliable customization functionality.
Shugis, Thank you so much for sharing this review. I’m very sorry about the trouble you’ve encountered with our app and the impact it’s had on your business. I completely understand how frustrating and disruptive this situation would be for your orders. We provide a file upload field and it needs to work 100% of the time. We have since resolved this issue and a couple of others - they were temporarily caused by a migration to new servers and UI that will make our app faster and more reliable into the future. But the issue is fixed and file upload data should carry through to orders now like normal. I really appreciate your understanding, and I will email you directly as well from here.

THIS IS THE WORST APP EVER! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. The app is SUPER glitchy and works when it wants to. You have to ALWAYS reach out to customer service to get anything to work and then they just do it for you instead of teaching you HOW to do it yourself so you don't need them. We've used this most of this year in 2024 and it is the most frustrating app of all time. BEWARE!

Simply needs to be banned from the store. its buggy. service is one of the worst I've come across.

When this app goes wrong... which it can do, they are extremely slow to fix the issue with your store and are not bothered about you losing sales and money. Can take them long times to fix problems and support staff can just ghost you. Would not recommend... lost thousands when they refused to make simple fixes over night. If anything goes wrong out of hours be aware that they cannot fix and you will have a broken website all night and make no sales.

In many years of serving merchants, we've never experienced an issue to this extent... So we do not expect it to ever happen again. Our developers did fix the issue in short order and the app has been functioning 100% since then. However I know that this can impact a store's ability to sell, and every moment counts. Thanks SO much for your understanding and communication here. ALL Shopify users, HORRIBLE! and SACAM Been with them for 8 years and they started an $99 for a plan (no other app as at that point) They switched for a $24 a plan (Not idea how long ago) Most likely years ago.... Never told our company, been charging us $99 a month for 8 years when they have a plan (That we use for $24) We are not in the business of watching is an app changed a plan for a fraction...If you are a customer since they started, is just common sense to let us know. They agree to return $300 ... make the math at $99 a month for 7-8 years... NOPE No one will answer just someone called AMAN, no phone calls, no managers NOTHING. After a month of e mails back and forth they just charge again $99 on June 27th. No solution. And actually, the app is not even working on my website that's been 11 years in business. I'm currently using Premium Customizer for $29.90/month. They do have WhatsApp support. However, the app only functions correctly if the theme is set to direct customers to the cart page when they add products to their cart. I offer an option where customers can choose to either view the cart or continue shopping after adding an item. I’ve spent over 10 hours creating these options and products, but when I check the cart, it incorrectly shows a total of $1,878,800.00 and support hasn't been able to fix this issue. The only solution is to configure is to have the cart button to redirect to the cart page immediately after a customer adds a product, which will decrease the sale conversion, I just wanted to have +100 variant option for few of my products but I'm gonna have to use a different app. Don't waste your time if you don't want this option. Although they helped me on support very well through Whatsapp.

This app constantly crashes, you have to check it everyday to ensure its options are working. Today noticed options were missing, clicked on app, it had an update of the app. App updated and now I can't see any of my account information. Page comes up blank. Been waiting on support response all day. Customers cannot check out due to issues on the listing not showing. it's good when it does decide to work. but the inconsistency is truly getting annoying.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to replicate the issue yet. Regarding the issue with the email associated with your account, this typically comes from the email associated with your Shopify account, which we cannot alter. We were able to manually update your email address in our system to rectify this, but we still recommend that you doublecheck Shopify to ensure that the correct information is there as well. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and are determined to make this right for you. Update 1/30/2024: The problem you are experiencing is due to duplicating a product. When you do this, all of the options show up on the duplicated product. In order to get past this, you will have to create a new product instead of duplicating. We attempted to meet with you regarding your concerns and you did not want to get on a Zoom call. A representative of our team has also sent you an email. We are going to be attempting to have a call with you within the next 24 hours to assist you. We would appreciate being able to walk with you through everything that you need.

Your app has been frequently experiencing errors recently. This is the third time it has malfunctioned. The support team does not seem to understand the issue, even though I have explained it in detail. The chat window was closed before our conversation was concluded

We have found that when you are using Pagefly with our app without doing an integration, all files do not get pulled over, hence the problems you experienced. I downloaded and installed the app for a one month free trial as they state. And the app didn't match my theme. Even though I removed it immediately, they charged me $19.90, and when I asked for a refund, they rejected me. Not recommended!

This app killed my website. Please do not use. For a second time, as soon as I ran the setup wizard, this app disabled the add to cart button. The first time they fixed it within about an hour, the second time they couldn't fix it and blamed shopify. Please do not use this app. This has severely impacted my business.
Hi Sup Drinkware, We’re sorry that you have had difficulties with our application, however we want to reiterate that the problem you’ve encountered was not due to any malfunction of our application. The root cause of the issue was that the cart drawer was disabled on the theme settings. We cannot determine who made this change, but our setup wizard does not touch this aspect of configuration.

Customer service is really bad. They only care about stores that pay a lot of money. Don't expect any help from them. The way to answer is also ridiculous

Not Good Customer Service. I have a problem with the theme but I have been waiting for more than 1 week and no one has solved it

Ive had this app for over two years and it always gave me issues. Sometimes it doesn’t record the options that cost more and that cause issues with my customers. I would have to manually send my clients invoices or they would just cancel the order. Its crashed multiple times and is a hassle to use. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I recently installed your app and I must say that I am extremely disappointed. The user interface and user experience of your app is far from user-friendly and is proving to be quite a challenge to navigate. The design of the app is outdated and the complexity of the menus and functions makes it extremely difficult to use. The app is supposed to simplify my life, but it is doing the exact opposite. The UI is clunky and unintuitive, making it hard to find what I am looking for and perform basic tasks. Additionally, the app is not user-friendly at all. It requires a lot of clicks to perform even the simplest of tasks and the navigation is confusing. The UX is not up to par with other apps in the market and is in dire need of a revamp. I was excited to try out your app, but my experience so far has been a huge letdown. I hope you take my feedback into consideration and work towards improving the app to make it more user-friendly and intuitive.

Horrible customer service. Went back and forth with "support team" for over a week for what should be a 5 minute fix. Kept getting passed back and forth between departments. Asked for a call or live chat option instead of email, and was provided with none. Would not recommend, many better options available out there.

The app's speed was terrible; my browser reloaded too many times before I could enter the app, and the app forced me to use full screen mode despite the fact that I exited it hundreds of times. Furthermore, setting up variants is really inconvenient for me because I have to set up each variant for each product and cannot reuse them. When I use the add price option when add a product, my basket is reloaded many times before it displays the correct price. This has been an exceedingly negative experience, especially for my customers. The order after successful checkout contains some extra trash information over which the developer claims they have no control, when in fact that this is information created by them???

I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the negative experience that you had with our app. I understand your frustration and we are so sorry about what happened here (It is not at all normal with our app.) With respect to the complaints about app's speed, browser reload before you could enter the app and setting up variants, I can assure you that these issues are isolated in nature and we have not received any complaints of such kind of issues so far. It is difficult to say exactly what happened, but temporary network glitch might be one of the reasons. For your complaint regarding basket reloading many times, I will have my best developers check your issue and fix it. But for the issue with item customization carried over to the check out page, we do not have a solution as Shopify restricts us to modify the check out page unless you are using a Shopify Plus enterprise-level plan. Unfortunately, we cannot modify or "hide" the way your "Item Customizations" product is displayed on your checkout page unless you are using a Shopify Plus enterprise-level plan. This is because your checkout page is hosted by Shopify, not on your store's domain, and to be secure, Shopify doesn't allow any third-party scripts or code to run on this page. This is not something that we control or can modify. At Product Customizer, we pride ourselves on giving our 100% every day to ensure that our customers’ needs are met.
