This app is buggy. The conditions don't work half the time. If you're looking to lose money and be frustrated, look no further.

Updated Review: We were on the premium plan with the Bold PO app and have experienced a significant decline in quality of customer service and the app in general since SCPO acquired it. At first we were excited that they reduced the monthly price point for the premium version by $10/month, but it has come with a serious cost... Since April 2024, we have encountered issues with incorrect orders, missing required fields, and improper customer charges. Despite customer service's attempts to fix these problems through coding changes, the issue was not resolved and it took over a month of back-and-forth communication to finally have it fixed. Unfortunately, since that time we have started to have other issues pop up related to the code changes that SCPO made to the site when attempting to troubleshoot our issue in April. Shopify and our theme developer have confirmed the issues are related to those changes made in April, however SCPO said that is not true. As they were unable to assist, I had to seek assistance from an outside tech person to address the issue that they stated they could not find evidence of. Recently, I again noticed an issue where if someone is changing dropdown menu fields that have a price adjustment attached to them, that the pricing is not always updating correctly on the product. Sometimes it states a price much lower or much higher than it truly should be. I also was not able to add this product to my cart. I sent video evidence of this to customer service and they said they would need to pass it on to the developer to review. I just received an email from the development team not addressing my stated issues whatsoever and telling me that the app is working as it should when this is simply not true. I am beyond frustrated at having an app that I pay $40/month for and my tech issues are not thoroughly investigated, the responses I receive fail to address the issues at hand, and they repeatedly dismiss concerns of which there is video evidence that they do, indeed, exist. SCPO, it is time for your developers and customer service team to do better and support your clientele. ------- Previous Review: We have been using this app for about the past 6 months. We utilize the Premium version and for what it is, it is quite pricey; being the only app we found that will alter the pricing at the top of the page with variants, they have a corner on the market, however. For $50/month the easy of editing variants could be better. Another large drawback of the app is that you cannot utilize currency selectors for customers as Bold variants will not adapt, resulting in undercharging of customers and lost revenue. Customer service has been fair as well as overall experience. Again, biggest issue would be premium pricing is $$$$ for what it is.

When the App works its great, if you eve get a problem with it, you'll wish you'd gone for something else, because the customer service is non-existent, and in this fast paced web world we live in, this is totally unpardonable! I would give 5 stars for the App for what it does when working OK, it's really good. That's the upside, if I had known the downside before getting all of our products hooked on the App, I would never have gone for it. It will often (more often than not!) freeze on you when working, resulting on work being lost and having to be redone. We got into the habit of saving our work every couple of moves just so we weren't caught out, but its a total pain in the rear. Then there's the problem of massive and varied delays in synching with Shopify, anything from a few minutes (occasionally) to several hours (most of the time!) which make working with the App extremely time consuming. Lastly there is the BOLD unbelievably poor customer service. You used to be able to email support but now (from 21st. July 2022 on) you get an auto email 3 hours later advising that "To serve you better, we are asking that you connect with our support team through our Help Center. From here, you can submit a support ticket, chat with a product specialist, view our helpful articles, and even create an account to track your ticket progress." Filling out a support ticket which prompts a series of auto emails, spending hours trawling through the "help center" and attempting to talk to a real person on their 'live' chat is a soul-destroying and time wasting experience, it took me 8 hours of frantically trying everything to get a human response. Once I had a human (it seems like there's only one there - Alina, unless they're all called that!) to go through our issues (which was a BOLD issue, not of our making), it was dealt with within 24 hours, but the total drama meant that we had possibly lost £1,000's of business in the meantime. For us to change now would be a massive operation, but because of the above experience, we have started to investigate other Apps to do the same thing. When your business depends on it, you can't rely on an automated service, yes, you need FAQs to get X% of issues dealt with automatically but for the other X% unless you have the back up of excellent customer service carried out quickly and efficiently, you're taking a huge gamble. We'll follow the advice of other one star reviews here and check out other possibly better and possibly cheaper Apps with a proper customer centric focus. Bye-bye BOLD.

The app is good, can provide almost all programs you need. But the customer service is too too bad, they reply too late. Sometime you email them several times, they will never reply to you more than one week. This is really disappointed. I have to list my experience here, we paid nearly $50 dollars for this app, but the service is too bad, your app not worth this price!! If I find other better app instead, will not use yours right now!! Bad customer service, remember, the live chat is never available!! You can't find them anyway.

the app is good, but the customer service is so poor. They can't support live chat, only robots there. the one named "Alina" never help, what I want to alter, he never did it. It seems the one can't see what I sent, he never read my message in detail. I give this zero star, all because of this person. Very very not professional support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Date 2022/12/16 Again, they never replied to my email. product options not showing up for our customers, what is the bug??? the dynamic list never update on time, the new products will not have the options even after it is created more then one week. The customer service team is fired? where are they Date:2023/1/4 We still have the issues about the product options not showing up for our customers. Contacted them with screenshot (specific browsers), but they said that their team didn't see it, and or they will not reply to your email even one week. Don't use the dynamic list to set up the option, when you have new proeducts, it will not show the option. They don't think there is any BUG, super low service. Iwill give new review every week until they fix the BUG.

I honestly don't understand how this company got so big because they do not know how to code, and not a single one of their apps can be installed at the click of a button, like it should be. Even the basic automatic install of the app doesn't work, so even before the app is installed, you have to waste your time with support. It's always a massive headache to setup anything, there is barely any help, and the help area is very confusing, very un-intuitive dashboards, annoying chatbot support and when you finally get someone you learn you have to wait 5 days to get help. I tried a few of their apps 4 years ago and it was the same headaches. Avoid this overpriced company, there are much better ones that do the same thing, and who actually know how to write code and care about their user's experience.

It doesn't work. I tried using it in 2 different stores and both times it simply brings you back to the starting screen where you have to enter your URL. Should you need to manually install it, there was no prompt to do so.

Horrible! Bold have deteriorated beyond all recognition over the past 5 years or so. Their apps are old, incompatible with each other as well as many features of Shopify. Support is hopeless and the apps are expensive too. Have gone from using 5 of their apps to none now and it will stay that way.

Do not make the mistake and install the app Their app downloads a code to the template and then destroys other things. I had to take something and pay him money to repair the damage they caused. And I'm not talking about the sales I lost Be smart and do not download their apps !! Even if it's free

the support is very bad! Contacted them several times. They are either very slow in response, only until I pushed through Shopify then I got a reply, or they say, it's not our job, you need to find a shopify expert to solve it, or we do not support this function. If I can, it should be 0.5 star for this review.

Support is non-existent. $50 per month for an app and the company does not help with showing options in invoices. All they do is provide you with resources that do not cover the many conflicts with other apps who are listed as compatible. Do not believe the photos of this company with large staff and conference rooms. It took 4 days for them to reply to support tickets and no resolution in the end.

Update 10-28-21 Unfortunately, I have to change the review I gave before after my latest experiences. After I realized the app created 2 issues in my shop I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get it fixed. This is unacceptable these days for an online shop, especially, when the app is a high-priced product. I had issues with my upload button, my customers were not able to upload their images for days. Also, my option prices showed up not correctly, so that my visitors always saw overpriced products!! Another big negative issue is, if my customers choose an option and change the quantity on my product pages, it will show a wrong price to my customers (30% less), so I will lose money and it is not trust-building. Jeff from the customer service told me, I have to go for a third-party service that could fix that. Wow, I can't believe that, I buy an option app that fails when my customer changes the quantity!!! The customer service which impressed me when I started with the app, disappointed me this time completely. Jeff was not solution orientated and it took too long for my startup. I will definitely think about changing to another option app developer.

i have been using this app for a few months now and at first the customer service was great and product working well. HOWEVER, I tried to create new options on a new product and it is not working properly now... i've contacted customer service multiple times and the responses have been seriously lacking. i get one response per day asking questions that i've already answered multiple times to different people... which drags out the issues even further. In addition i have another ticket that has been outstanding for 3+ months.... with no resolution..... general jist... the app is more expensive than most apps on the marketplace for this service and I wouldnt mind paying it if theyre customer service was better. but when i have an issue with an app that impacts my revenue, i would expext PROMPT resolution.

Gave their staff login to implement the app and they managed to break it meaning customers were getting things for free... and now their team havent responded

Challi or whatever their name was couldn't be bothered to review any information - instead of reviewing and proactively assisting - they just passed me back to the original person without even trying - nor was confident in their knowledge of the product. There is very little to no Feature Set examples - because they chose not to make them. I spent $20-$30 and a ton of time to recognize the flaws and lack of information and still have been asking for communication of which I have received - none I have been on chat, sent email and lastly am here - because where else can I go? So this is the only place maybe they will reach out and solve the communication issue

The worst customer support we have ever experienced. Last Friday we sent two technical support requests, one is to apply for the installation code from the APP, and the other is to leave a message in the help center to ask for help to set the "add to price" function. On Monday, we received your email, one email replying to the code installation request, let us accept the request of collaborator account, we accepted it immediately. The second is to reply the email about the "add to price" request, and let us check your youtube channel and find solution in help center. I have read all of these. If it can be resolved by ourselves, why should we ask for your help? So, when I replied to your email, I asked again to help us set up the "add to price" function, but so far there is no reply! On Wednesday, I received your email saying that the code was installed, but never mentioned the "add to price" setting request , why??? On Thursday, we tested the installed code and found that there was a problem, so we recorded a video to inform you that there was a problem with the code, and then there is no reply until now. Why is your online chat function never online? If you can't provide online support, why put it on the website??? Our website was ready to go live one week ago, just wait for you to help us set it up, it has been a week. Now it's Tuesday again, no response from Bold customer support team, it has been 10 days (7 business days). We really don't have time to wait any longer.

If you are considering investing your time and resources in Bold Product Options, READ THIS FIRST: BEWARE THAT ONCE YOUR SHOPIFY STORE REACHES A POINT OF 1000 PRODUCTS, BOLD OPTIONS STOP WORKING! I have a live store that relies on Bold Product Options for all our product options and we continuously create new products and new options. Suddenly, we discover that new options are not displaying for our new products. Despite looking perfectly fine in Bold app, they are not displaying in the store! Naturally, we reached out to Bold Support and this is the explanation we received: "Unfortunately at the moment our app is limited to support roughly 1000 products and variants combined. This limitation isn't related to the number of products that you are using our app on, but rather a limitation of the total number of products your store contains. Usually when a store has more than 1000 products, it results in some unpredictable issues with assigning products to option sets." Wait, what? Why no one told me that when I was signing up? And why is this clearly well known fact within Bold Commerce is not disclosed at the time of the purchase? So much for "endless product options to your store" they profess on their website! And are they working to resolve the issue? Here is directly from Bold Support again: “I already passed this suggestion along to our developers to look at increasing this in a future update to the application. However, I don't currently know when/if this will be integrated into the app. I wish I had a better answer for you right now, but this is currently all the information I have at my disposal." Another support person wrote to me that he added my company to the list of companies affected by the limitation, thus confirming that this is a known issue, they are just sitting on it for now, waiting for it to reach a critical mass, I suppose. Needless to say we are deeply (and negatively!) affected by this previously undisclosed limitation. But for someone who is evaluating the app now thinking it could be it, my recommendation is this: If you know that your store will have more than 1000 products in it, Bold Product Options IS NOT YOUR APP! Unless you are diligently adding products to your store to downsize (not sure how that works), which was the recommendation we received from Bold Support. This is not the company to grow with. They cannot support your growth!
