The app is pretty great, customers seem more enticed to buy. However the plan pricing is INSANE, well for a small business. What they offer for each plan is not worth the cost. $50 to $500 A MONTH? for just a "vip program". Might be switching to a new app that is worth the cost.
Hi there, Nicole from Smile here, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve and be supportive of small businesses. I hear that you are finding Smile to be too expensive, and I want to explain a bit of our pricing structure to provide some clarity. We offer a Free plan that includes our Points and Referral programs. Small businesses are able to stay on this plan indefinitely as long as they have 200 orders a month. We made this plan with small businesses in mind, so that they can start growing with loyalty at no cost. Our paid plans are priced based on features. This means that instead of punishing businesses for growth by basing our pricing on customer or order counts, we offer more advanced features on higher up plans. That being said, I can see how if you are looking for a specific feature, like VIP, that is only available on our Pro Plan, the pricing can look a little daunting. However, it is totally possible to run a successful loyalty program without VIP. And, we typically recommend merchants remain on lower plans, until they see enough returns from their program to justify an upgrade. I've reached out to you via email so that we can make sure that you are successful on your current plan and help you grow your business! I've also offered a free trial of any of our paid plans. I am leaving a 1-star review due to the extremely poor level of customer support that Smile offers. Unlike other apps, the Smile support team will try to help with the least possible effort, and will never actually be willing to login to a Shopify store to assist with the app's implementation or code (i.e. through a collaborator link or staff account login). All the support team will do is send you one of their trained reply templates to provide a help article. We wanted to show the Smile launcher on only one page of our website, but were told that this was not possible. We would have to 'exclude' every single page on our website to be able to do this. There is no option in the app to only 'include' certain URLs to display the launcher. This is not helpful at all. Additionally, we found through the support team that certain features of the Smile app are only available to people depending on when the account was created. For example, they currently offer different ways the launcher can be displayed on mobile - but only for new accounts. Because we have an older account, the team refuses to give this option to us. This is extremely bizarre and not logical at all. Seriously Smile - for the amount that you charge merchants to use your program, you really need to improve your customer support and allow more customization for merchants.

We have been trying to contact you to confirm and see how else we can ensure your program is working optimally and we look forward to connecting with you soon. *** Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm going to carefully look into the problems you highlighted and reach out privately to try and resolve these concerns. Customer service is incredibly important to us and we always try and offer the best advice and support that we possibly can. We will never refuse to offer a feature if it is available and we are currently looking at ways to offer the visibility option to you we are just waiting to see how we can add you to the control group. so far it's pretty good. A bit pricey for further customization but even with the free option you can have a very functional rewards program.

App was simple to install and works well, I use both referrals and rewards programmes which add to my sales. Very few cases of cheating and support was been quick and efficient anytime I had to ask questions.

SMILE.io customer service actually has solid customer service that goes above and beyond, even as they grow their company in size, they have been thoughtful about their current base considering changes to their business. I will say we have had bumps along the road but they deserve 5 stars for actually resolving issues. Shout out to David for making things right.

very good easy install app, but the problem is that it cost so SO much , you need to spend $200 for one of the app while free or $50 package is useless, i used it for 3 months, and can tell you that even $50 package is not effective. so you need to consider for a package for $200 only, so i will look for alternatives now. because it will never generate so much to cover $200 product cost. maybe some big companies can afford it. If you re a small company be ready to wait for 2-3 months to see any results and pay $200 / month so it will never generate as much as you expected to cover the monthly cost. So i recommend to avoid this App grow for at least 5k in net profit per month and then consider to install it.

This is undoubtedly the best app among all the Shopify options available. Reasonably priced and provides fast and fantastic support. Without a doubt, smile.io has been an amazing asset for our business... and we highly recommend :)
