Updated Review: I’ve stopped using this app, and here’s why. We use separate services for AI-assisted email CRM and an AI-assisted virtual receptionist. I dislike how siloed ZipChat is. There’s no way to export conversation data to help with email or phone handling. Also, older training data was sometimes retained despite every effort to re-educate it, which led to some bad customer suggestions. I’m now using other services, but the inability to import or export data for training a receptionist or improving email responses is a major hit to productivity. That said, we did love this app. It answered more accurately, in most cases, than humans (as long as the info on your site was correct) and worked 24/7. Previously, I was answering chats myself, and only during a limited 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. window. Customers who tried to reach me outside of that time had their messages forwarded. One thing that would be nice in a future update: if a customer has an issue, rather than simply sharing our email and phone number, the chatbot could take a message and forward it to a queue or our inbox. The logs showed the bot provided *very good* answers with none of the hallucinations common to other chatbots. Other bots made up facts about our products that were sometimes humorously wrong. ZipChat even seemed to interpret some images on our site—or inferred the info another way—but often answered better than I did, and I designed all of our products. If you’re jaded from answering the same questions all the time, give ZipChat a shot. Now, please come up with a bot to answer my customer service emails!
