Shopify Collabs

We switched over to this app from Refersion and are starting to regret it. Collabs discount codes don't stack, and when you use a 3rd party plugin to stack the discounts codes arent registered to their respective influencer, thus having to manually figure out how to send them their commissions.

We love this app, however recently we have been made aware of some issues that make it impossible for people to apply. Once they answer all the questions, the app won't let them do anything once they sign into their Instagram or other social media. Sometimes, it won't even let them sign in. Please fix this as it's impacting us a lot.

My first app for affiliate marketing. Most of the applicants have very little following/engagement. We sent gifts and received nothing in return. Pretty much a thanks and goodbye. Really no benefit at all. Will look for an app that holds affiliates accountable and does a better job vetting influencers.

This is the worst app I have come across. Nothing is clear what needs to be done and how to work with it.

The app is a good way to get started with affiliate campaigns but I can't figure out a way to pause applicants. We have enough collaborators for now but they keep applying. If we remove our brand from the collabs network, the app tells us that existing affiliate links will be broken.

Has real potential, but basic functionality is not there. When creators sign up they can add their channels. Should they not add all the channels and you wish to add them yourself as a merchant - you cant... even though there is the ability to do so! I contacted Shopify support to to try and resolve a basic function to which they told me they removed it... why would you remove something that only really benefits the merchant. Tracking performance and profile growth as a creator means very little, but to a merchant it means everything in something that is a very difficult to track. I hope Shopify rethinks this and fast!

1. Not enough documentation. You need to go back and forth too much with support to learn anything more than the 2 help pages, which you don't learn much from. It seems that support beats around the bush especially regarding what they realize with be a sensitive topic, like #2 below. 2. My biggest beef, is that when I had set up a test Creator account with another one of my email addresses, the first thing that Shopify did was try to get me to see other brands. That is unethical, when I am the one bringing the creator to the network. At least wait until the creator is setup and started working with us before bombarding them with everyone else’s brand and turning their focus away from us. I had some issues with Collabs that I was willing to live with, but #2 above was a deal breaker. I am removed the app.

Cannot get influencers paid automatically, have to manually process payments. Shopify refuses to work with PayPal to resolve this and blames it on the customer. Been trying to get it fixed for a month now with no resolution.

This forces you to use collaborators that are only within the Shopify Network. What if we want to use our own influencers that are not here? Previously I was able to do this with my other business. However, I cannot figure out how to make that a possibility now that this app has been updated.

Not supporting Spain, I was very excited when I reached 10k sales but I can't join. It should be written in somewhere BIG to let customer know which countries are supported

I couldn't even get the CVS file to import, this app is not user friendly. you should just be able to enter the influences email.

I was really excited to install this app, being an influencer myself in the UK. I also have a start up business, and really wanted to work with other influencers. The integration was easy, the option to feature this option on your website however looks very unprofessional, so I will probably remove it. The WORST though is, that you can't join the Collab community until you have $10K sales! I mean, really? Where is the support for start-up or small businesses? Is this what Shopify wants to identify themselves, being a supporter of well established businesses? Very very poor!

Providing a very easy platform by which to provide products and/or discounts to people with special codes that can tie back to sales is an A+ 5 star experience. A couple of clicks and all automated payment is all you can ask for. However, there is no visibility into post gifting even though you have all their info. There's no analytics. There's no backend. There's no feedback. I should be able to click on their profile and see if they've posted anything related to my product. I should be able to message people or even send email campaigns and promotions to all my ambassadors or subsets of them. I should be able to rate people so that other brands can see who follows through and who drives sales. I would be surprised if even 10% of the people actually post content. It also does not drive sales. I may get 1 sale for every 3 gifts. It is absolutely of no direct value economically. But I do get some good content from here, and it's much easier than having to deal with endless instagram requests for products. But Shopify could make this infinitely more value almost immediately with very little effort.

I have sent out gifts to over 25 people and only 1 person has made 2 sales. It's a way for influencers to get free products and do nothing in return for the merchant. There needs to be some kind of commitment on their part to receive a gift.

Overall I like how easy this app is to receive collab applications and send gifts. But I hope there is a rating option for shop owners to rate the influencers. I have approved several influencers and sent out gifts to them, but they all disappeared and have yet to reply to me when they got the products, it's really frustrating and I am not sure if I should continue to use it.

So Shopify! What is your suggestion for a new business that wants to grow and work with collars that doesn't meet the "$10K in sales in the last 12 months." This is a barrier for new shops! Thank you! Denise

Shopify collabs wouldnt work for my website, once I had to upgrade from dovetale to shopify collabs, it stopped working. Never really generated any good leads anyhow with influencers but was hoping. Support was not so great, contacted them twice, no one could help. Contacted support directly but at that point I just uninstalled due to too much frustration and stress......

Four stars, because in theory, this is a great app. But there is some important functionality/information that is just not clear - happy to update rating if Shopify can help with deeper understanding. - can you outreach a creator directly from within the recruit tab? We can locate the creators we want to work with, add them to favorites, but there's no way to outreach them other then via an email list upload?? Something is missing. - what are the sharing requirements for creators - for example, do they just get a link that can be shared in link.bio, or are there other ways that they can share their link? Need more clarification on this. - What is the difference between members and affiliates? Very hopeful for this app!

Having issues saying i don't have permission and have to keep reinstalling. But people are applying fine via website. Could i please have some help with this. Thanks

The app is really buggy, it continually says I don't have permission to use my account and makes me install it over again.
