Digital Downloads

We installed this app as we have several ebook type products on our store. It works perfectly, automatically emailing our customers with the link to download without us having to do anything. Only downside is that when you have a mixed order, with both physical and downloadable products you either have to manually email the customer a link or remember that even though the order has been marked "fulfilled" you still need to ship the physical products.

Works as described - no complaints

Really painful to use this app. You must set the download for each product variant. If you have 100s of variants like me, this is a real time suck. After I spent hours configuring the downloads (which I will have to redo anytime I want to make a change to it in the future), I found out that the app's default setting automatically fulfills the order in Shopify. This was a disaster to go through all the orders to track what had been fulfilled or not. If you're selling a digital-only product with only 1-2 variants, this would work. But it doesn't fit my needs.

So far so good! Functionality is exactly as described, and support has been prompt and helpful. :)

Ok app, but "edit proxy url" settings doesn't work. So you cannot change the default "downloads" url. If you change it, all your digital download links will be broken (not working). Also it uses http as default and there is no way to change it to use https:// And you cannot change the default download button text or text below the button. Two and half stars.

I've been using it for a couple of years now, it's basic but works well.

Has been working great for me, the only problem I have is that I have some "mixed" products (i.e. products containing a physical good that needs to be shipped + a digital good). Right now the digital good doesn't get delivered until the physical good is shipped. I'd LOVE it if this app could ship the digital good right away, and leave the order partially fulfilled until I ship the physical product.

Almost all my clients write that they don't receive download link. It is written "delayed". So I had 2 bad reviews, because of it. Calling my website scam. And now I have to send manually the purchases to each customer. I suggest to use another application. I am looking for something reliable. Updated: Sorry. The problem was not in application. But in my payment settings. The link won't be sent until the payment is "captured". My mistake was to choose manual payment capture. If you put in auto mode, the link will be sent automatically.

The app is fine until you realize how laughably easy it is for a fraudulent customer to scam you with this. If a digital downloads order is marked as HIGH risk of fraud, the digital downloads app does not care and auto sends the digital files no matter what. Meaning, this will likely end up with a charge-back on the order, with the fraudulent customer receiving all the files and not paying. What a joke. The app does have some protection for PayPal eChecks, but absolutely nothing for high risk of fraud orders. If this was fixed then the app would be just fine to use, but depending on the size of your store, this may cause you a big headache. FIX IT Shopify!

Its free. Ok. Does what it says on the tin. I have used for over a year with great results. Can track downloads and see who has downloaded what, but it is a bit clunky. Would love improved tracking and analysis. Neater layout options for non technical person would also help.

Wish the download link integrated with the customer account. Hyperlinking the product does the customer no good in the future... it would be nice if the download link was stored in the account too.

Great app, we often have orders with both digital products and physical items and this app seamlessly allows customers to download their files from the Thanks For Buying page. The "Create a Manual Link" facility is great as well for sending one-offs to customers who haven't/can't go through the shopify checkout. Simple, easy, reliable, flexible.
