Big problem, it downloaded ALL my customers into my subscriber list inc those who hadn’t subscribed.
Hi Cedarwood Soap, we saw your review and wanted to reply right away. When you use our app it will sync information in your Shopify store to your Mailchimp account. This information only includes past customers who "Accept email marketing", orders, and products. Syncing also includes any merge tag mappings that have been set up. Users that haven't opted in will not be sent to Mailchimp. After the initial sync is complete, we'll continue adding customers, orders, and products from your store to Mailchimp as transactions occur. We'll also add those who are transactional in nature so you can trigger abandoned carts and order notifications. Lastly, if someone unsubscribes from a Mailchimp campaign or automation, we'll sync that status back to Shopify and vice versa. From what you're describing, it definitely doesn't sound like a standard function of the app and we'd like to investigate further. Would you care to reach out to our support team directly? We'd like to see some examples where you're experiencing issues, comparing it to what is in the Shopify API. You can reach out to us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

Excellent so far, very good app to connect Mailchimp with a Shopify store. The customer service is great too.

So far so good! We are using this app in replacement of the MailChimp app and are grateful it's available and we appreciate that it's also free. Works as intended and easy to install.

This app is functioning nicely as a replacement for the native Mailchimp app that's been discontinued. I'm very thankful it's available.

Easy to setup and so far have had no issues. Glad there is a resource for Shopify sellers with the imminent departure of native Mailchimp integration.

Installed this after Mailchimp and Shopify fell out. It's been a totally seamless transition. Really pleased that what could have been really annoying and tricky turned out to be a breeze.

Does what it says it does and very useful for syncing to Mailchimp. I didn't want to move to a Shopify exclusive email marketing platform and this app helped us remain email marketing platform agnostic.

So far so good. I was glad that this app stepped in to bridge the new gap between Shopify and Mailchimp.

Glad to have a free app to mitigate the Shopify/Mailchimp negotiation issues. I was skeptical to install ShopSync at first, since I saw many reviewers mentioned issues with old automations re-triggering. Before I installed this app, I paused all of my Mailchimp automations, then ran the installation, and everything was set up and is working as expected. I had none of the issues the others were talking about. I also ran some test orders, and everything is working exactly like it did with the native Mailchimp app. The only difference I saw was that in an order detail, you can't see if a customer subscribed to your list. Not a deal breaker at all, just a minor thing I've noticed.

The ShopSync app is a 1:1 replacement for Mailchimp for Shopify, but instead of using Webhooks, it utilizes Mailchimp's API and syncs new data in real time. It does the same stuff and it's way faster. 1. Disconnect your Mailchimp for Shopify connection within Mailchimp on the connected sites page 2. Pause your E-Comm automations 3. Install and connect ShopSync to the same Mailchimp list. 4. Create new replacement automations connected to the same connected list. You'll need to recreate any Abandoned cart automations (single or series), the follow up on purchase automations, and any others that are relying on a store data (new orders, abandoned carts, etc). You can save the old E-Comm automation emails as templates in Mailchimp so you won't need to redesign anything when recreating your automations. Additionally, if you're familiar with Postman and Mailchimp's API, then you can make a GET request for your Mailchimp account to /ecommerce/stores and this will return your store ID. After that, you can make a GET request to /automations and check for any automations in the response that are associated with a different store ID, then you will know exactly which automations you need to rebuild.

I was very happy to find this app when Mailchimp pulled out of Shopify. I downloaded the app, followed the prompts and like magic my Mailchimp was connected and worked exactly the same. I created an email and sent it to my email list just like always. I am very happy to see a FREE offer as well. For a small business selling Mommy & Me Fashions this is very important. Thank you ShopSync. Very happy. Pamela, MomMeAndMore.com

I was very happy to find this app. It was very easy to install and set up and sync. I had imported a lot of bot sign ups so I decided to force a re-sync after reducing the list and it went smoothly. Luckily I started with a fresh list on Mailchimp so I didn't have any automation surprises:)

Something needs to be done to keep using my Mailchimp services. I installed this app and everything went well. It only took a few minutes to sync my shop. I "signed up for our newsletter" to test and everything worked as supposed to. There is one problem though, I'm not able to access the app from my store, I have to go to the App store where I tap "install" and then I can see my data. Update: I'm able to access the app directly from my shopify store on my computer, but on mobile (iphone) via the "Shopify app" I get a message "Cannot Authenticate - Please Try Again" Update 2: New subscribers to my store are being added to my list. Everything seems to work perfect. There’s really no need for me to access the app because everything is being done just like before in the back ground. I want to thank you for providing a work around. Especially for free. Shop owners, like me....don’t worry!

UPDATED REVIEW: App works ok. ---------------------------- Over 2 days, I've tried 3 times to sync our rather small store with SmartSync and it stalls out every time.
After further investigation into this issue, we've found that the app store had an unusual redirect method to our installation page that needed to be corrected. This problem appeared for a small subset of users, but we understand how frustrating this behavior can be if you were one of them. We've worked with Shopify to resolve this problem and it should be fixed now. Would you care to update your review if you're able to connect and use ShopSync?

UPDATE: Clearly not an isolated issue, as same has been experienced by Bakedin. I strongly recommend you stop all automation if you must install this app. I am now in search of a MailChimp alternative as a result of this whole situation. *ATTENTION* Be very careful, as once you set up this app, it goes on and resends ALL automation emails to your customer list. I set this up at 4 am after receiving the notice from MailChimp, only to find out that within minutes of syncing all my customers have received redundant automation campaigns that I had set up previously. So, a very unprofessional look, and now this will affect my current future email campagins as I do not want to risk flooding my email lists again. Who knows what other issues, this is going to cause! So, just be careful.
Hi Black Seed Co., thank you for the feedback. We’ve tested this scenario extensively and we are unable to replicate the behavior being described. To give you and others an understanding of how the initial sync works, on install, we tell the Mailchimp API specifically to not send automation messages. When the sync is done, it is designed to pick up where events left off for transactional messages only (like abandoned carts, order notifications ). For marketing related emails like win backs, first-time buyers, etc. (and pop-ups), there is not a technical way to fuse these back together due to limitations in the Mailchimp infrastructure. In other words, there's no way to associate the unique store ID that ShopSync is using with any existing Mailchimp automation(s). Reason being, if you were using the previous Mailchimp app, it has its own unique store ID assigned to those automations. In other words, the key to door locks have to match and ShopSync doesn't have those keys. Our best guess is that there may have been something going on either with Mailchimp at the time, or perhaps another app kicking off events in your store. But, we take any and all feedback seriously and we'd like to work with you on further investigation of what may have happened. We sent a direct message to you earlier, if you don't mind to share your store URL and Mailchimp user ID that would be a good start for us. We'll be happy to dig deeper to see what could've happened here.
