We had a highly complex custom application built for us, based on the Product Options platform. Let me be the first to tell you, there is a LOT more than meets the eye with this app, and the sky is virtually the limit. Our custom app has roughly 30 configurable steps, a metric ton of conditional logic, and loads of special rules. The app runs quick and flawlessly which is quite impressive. The folks at Bold Apps (Heman, Calin, Jeff, and the crew) were very professional and easy to work with. If you're looking for complex custom app development, Bold Apps seem to be one of the best choices out there.

I would highly recommend this app. It is much more in depth than the others and has great plan options, including a free one!

Exactly what I needed for a new mailbox with twelve color options for the outer shell and door (144 variants)! Very easy to use and efficient. I'm going to use it with my curbside mailbox to make the post and numbers product options. Should help drive sales! Awesome customer service too. Very satisfied!

Firstly, excellent support. I had some issues with pre-selecting radio buttons in order to activate the conditional logic immediately upon loading of the page. Solved by excellent support from the app developers. Secondly, clean interface with good customization options. If you need to have options to specific products, this is probably the best app out there for this purpose. Good job guys. Keep up the good work.

I have had to seek support (on a number occasions) and I haven't found it very easy to get. At least half of the time I look, their online chat function is disabled (I thought it was a glitch but was told by an operator that they take it down when they get busy.....), I have called in and spoken with someone who said they would get back to me once they learn the answer (only they never called back), and I have written emails (mostly recently Wednesday of this week--it is now Saturday) and they take several days (they say 48 hours but in my experience its been longer) to respond. Edited Nov 25, 2015 -- they have helped me resolve the issue -- took from Oct 19 to Nov 25, but it was resolved. A notice on their website said the Black Friday rush had them scrambling. Overall I like the product enough to keep using it as it does more than the Shopify variants can. I increased the stars from 2 to 3. Edited Setp 27, 2019 -- its been buggy for a while. Finally with the integration of another feature it became untenable so reached out to Bold for a fix as the cart is not showing pricing and it isn't integrating with the new multi-currency option -- been waiting a week and still waiting for a reply (after multiple attempts to contact them). Been told someone will respond but they don't. I see there are several production option alternatives and at this point, figuring we may need to look there.

Installation is a nightmare. Don't recommend!!!!! Cancelled Everything and will go else where. Tried to contact customer service for over two months with no response.

Hey guys, big thanks you to Holly and Derek for helping getting this app coded on our site. First class service from you guys. Early days for me as I'm new to Shopify but really excited by what this app can do and looking forward to getting my teeth into it.

Without this app I could not do business with Shopify. I own a bakery and we need to have options for all of our products such as chocolate type and color of sprinkles just to name a few. I paid to have them install the app for me and it was worth every penny. Today I had a small issue, I emailed them and within the hour the problem was fixed and everyone that I dealt with (mostly Dex in support) has been nothing but a joy. I recommend them to all of my friends who want to run Shopify sites. Try their apps for a month, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Priyanka in support rocks!

I installed this app initially with the basic product options and was very impressed with it. I paid to have the code implemented for me, it took a couple of days and I received a nice email confirming it had been done. My requirements grew and I upgraded to the advanced version. Again, I had the code implemented and it was quick and painless. Another nice email. From a functionality perspective, I sat through the video and refreshed my memory by watching it again a few months on. It's logical, easy to use and looks pretty good on the site too. I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into the additional functionality the advanced version offers. One thing I'm really excited about it having the ability for customers to upload an image. Can't wait for this function to go live on the site. I would definitely recommend this product.

This program has been great to use. It is relatively easy to update the options feature. The only downside is we would have to get the site recoded if we changed themes.

I would give 10 STARS to M-C, a member of the customer support team, who went so far above and beyond to help me. She never got annoyed by my questions, and after waiting FOREVER to get help from the app support, she figured it out for me. THANK YOU!!! I would give 3 starts to this app in general.... If it weren't for M-C I wouldn't be able to use it. We paid for the installation, and it had extraneous code in both customer email notifications and Order Invoices, as well as the checkout. M-C fixed all three issues (THANK YOU).... and to my knowledge no one else on the support team has yet to address it app-wide. The app has so much potential. It is really really great. I just wish that the team would take these design issues seriously. They relate to User Experience. No matter how cool the app is functionally, all a customer will see is "why is there extra code on my page" and they won't appreciate the function. I look forward to the team polishing and finishing this app, updating it, and I really hope they give M-C a raise!!!!!

I'm forced to downgrade my rating of this app from 4 stars to 2 stars. Initially, we were happy with its operation, but customer service is slow, simple customizations are challenging, it's buggy, and I get the sense that tech support staff is under-trained and burdened. Honestly, I think we would be better off using the product variants feature built into the Shopify admin dashboard for everything that Bold Product Options currently handles. We have already been forced to do this for some products where the Bold app can't accomodate our needs, which are pretty normal and reasonable for an e-commerce website. I think the app has potential, but unfortunately, it is not well supported considering that Bold is charing a monthly service fee for its use.
