Installation is a nightmare. Don't recommend!!!!! Cancelled Everything and will go else where. Tried to contact customer service for over two months with no response.

Hey guys, big thanks you to Holly and Derek for helping getting this app coded on our site. First class service from you guys. Early days for me as I'm new to Shopify but really excited by what this app can do and looking forward to getting my teeth into it.

Without this app I could not do business with Shopify. I own a bakery and we need to have options for all of our products such as chocolate type and color of sprinkles just to name a few. I paid to have them install the app for me and it was worth every penny. Today I had a small issue, I emailed them and within the hour the problem was fixed and everyone that I dealt with (mostly Dex in support) has been nothing but a joy. I recommend them to all of my friends who want to run Shopify sites. Try their apps for a month, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Priyanka in support rocks!

I installed this app initially with the basic product options and was very impressed with it. I paid to have the code implemented for me, it took a couple of days and I received a nice email confirming it had been done. My requirements grew and I upgraded to the advanced version. Again, I had the code implemented and it was quick and painless. Another nice email. From a functionality perspective, I sat through the video and refreshed my memory by watching it again a few months on. It's logical, easy to use and looks pretty good on the site too. I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into the additional functionality the advanced version offers. One thing I'm really excited about it having the ability for customers to upload an image. Can't wait for this function to go live on the site. I would definitely recommend this product.

This program has been great to use. It is relatively easy to update the options feature. The only downside is we would have to get the site recoded if we changed themes.

I would give 10 STARS to M-C, a member of the customer support team, who went so far above and beyond to help me. She never got annoyed by my questions, and after waiting FOREVER to get help from the app support, she figured it out for me. THANK YOU!!! I would give 3 starts to this app in general.... If it weren't for M-C I wouldn't be able to use it. We paid for the installation, and it had extraneous code in both customer email notifications and Order Invoices, as well as the checkout. M-C fixed all three issues (THANK YOU).... and to my knowledge no one else on the support team has yet to address it app-wide. The app has so much potential. It is really really great. I just wish that the team would take these design issues seriously. They relate to User Experience. No matter how cool the app is functionally, all a customer will see is "why is there extra code on my page" and they won't appreciate the function. I look forward to the team polishing and finishing this app, updating it, and I really hope they give M-C a raise!!!!!

I'm forced to downgrade my rating of this app from 4 stars to 2 stars. Initially, we were happy with its operation, but customer service is slow, simple customizations are challenging, it's buggy, and I get the sense that tech support staff is under-trained and burdened. Honestly, I think we would be better off using the product variants feature built into the Shopify admin dashboard for everything that Bold Product Options currently handles. We have already been forced to do this for some products where the Bold app can't accomodate our needs, which are pretty normal and reasonable for an e-commerce website. I think the app has potential, but unfortunately, it is not well supported considering that Bold is charing a monthly service fee for its use.

This app did take a couple of days to perfect (appearance wise) on my website. It wasn't something I could fix myself so I did have to wait on support to get me through some minor appearance issues. But the support team was quick to get back with me and they fixed my problems right away. I do recommend this app, but just be prepared to possibly need some support with certain themes. Until now, I can finally offer my customers an "add a chain" option directly on each product page instead of having to create numerous variants by including different length chains in the prices in the main drop down menu. Much easier for my customers! And a great opportunity to upset to your customers!

The product option app is great. Once installed it runs fairly seamlessly. Allowing our customers to have multiple options above and beyond Shopify's limits is key to our business, and this gets the job done.

We have just started to use bold product options for all our personalised gifts and event decor. A few problems at the start but bold sorted this out straight away. Looking forward to using this option on the rest of our products soon. We now have all the customisation possibilities that we need. The installation is tricky as we started it off ourselves but had to get the pros to do it for us in the end. But well worth the fee. Overall, a decent app for anyone that wants the flexibility of personalisation for their products and easy to use once you get started. So 5* from us!

UPDATE 11/2/15: We responded to the Bold Apps ticket, and also reached out to Shopify for help, who also lodged a ticket on 10/31/15. We received a brief, 2 sentence email from Jay Meyers, who said he would see if someone could work on this over the weekend. We are still waiting. No other follow-up on anything yet. No update, no response, no nothing. ******************** UPDATE 10/31/15: We originally paid Bold Apps to install the Product Options App in August 2015. It is now the beginning of November, and we are still having issues, to the point it does not function well enough to use. We've had to go back several times due to issues; clearly the team does not QC test its work. After contacting them last week about yet another issue, we received this note from "Holly": "Our Product Options app does not work well with that cart that slides from the side of the page on desktop which is why it looks like that. I would suggest disabling the slide cart in your Shopify theme. First, why did you not explain this back in August when we initially paid you to install the app? As many times as your team has worked on this, did it not ever test the installation and notice the issue? (Note: this is the same issue with the code appearing in the checkout, which we initially emailed about, and which is described below in the first review we left. The cart issue was fixed, but the solution for the issue was not followed through to the notifications, which seems like a no-brainer.) Where is any communication regarding the same issue around the mobile display, and the corrections needed to make that work - the other issue mentioned in my support ticket - in the response I received? Why is this our problem, if we paid you to do the installation? Beyond frustrating - find another company if you can, because you cannot count on the level of customer service from this team - even after you email the founder. **** ORIGINAL REVIEW from 8/24/15 **** This app would be great, but we're having trouble getting the app installed. We paid for installation, but it does not work properly. 1) The old app code was not removed as promised; 2) There is extraneous code appearing in sections of the site, including the shopping cart and checkout. We emailed Jay Meyers and have had a support thread since our initial inquiry which we responded to -- asking for some updates and if they could also help with our CSS -- the only response we received in 2+ days is a note they merged our request, which means at least 2 or 3 people read it, but couldnt be bothered to respond. If we could get some help, and the work completed as promised, I'm sure the app would be great based on what we can see so far. Best I can tell, they didnt even get my last response because when they merged the threads, they closed the wrong one -- the one with all the questions that need answered.. still.

Great addition! This is a feature that should be baked into Shopify but im glad BOLD Apps stepped up. Makes it somewhat easy to add more complicated custom orders (after a bit of a learning curve) Support has been very prompt, although i had to resort to using their Installation Service to get it working on my theme. Not too pricey however. Their custom builder application is what i might look to in the future. Good job.
