Terrible customer service, terrible software. They do not provide you with a phone number, and you are at the mercy of their staff to reply. Which is, on average, 10-24 hours or more. I have been working with them for their Shopify cart conversion (that all Recharge customers are being forced into), and it has been an absolute nightmare. After finishing the conversion yesterday, now my website will not even add a subscription product to cart. I have been losing potential subscribers for nearly a month due to an error with their checkout that they *cannot identify*. It took long enough to get them to begin the cart conversion. Now that it is finished and it DOES NOT WORK, there is NO urgency on their behalf to help fix this. They typically reply with more questions, and ask you to confirm something multiple times before proceeding with a solution. I hardly ever write reviews, but am compelled to do so because I am shocked at how inefficient they are. For the record, this is the second time this year that I have had to correspond with them for assistance. Two separate issues, two awful experiences. Choose another recurring payment app.

There's absolutely no support. NOTHING! The "Get Help" link in their app is inactive. There's no online chat and there's no ticket system. How does Shopify let them have apps?

Very long term user here but opening up about the experience so you guys can see the glaring problems as business owners. When the app works, it’s not too shabby and allows customization of shipments(eg. 30 days, 60 days, 90 days etc) which helps a lot. However, the big elephant in the room is the poor software itself and this app is now very dated while the company has become very complacent about what they have to offer. Read below: The Recharge app is a hassle whenever you want to update your website. It breaks and suffers from compatibility issues. When we updated our website in 2021, the widget broke and since then we haven’t been able to have it integrated or work with our website. They also store all customer data on their side(which is why we were shy on pulling the plug on the app and had hoped that they would eventually have it working on our website) which means that you’re locked in with them unless you manually ask them for an export of the customers that are subscribed to your website through their widget. Additionally, the recharge app continues to charge your card even when the app is in a broken state which is what continued to happen during 2023 when they had to move to Shopify Checkout integration. Lastly, when it was brought up to their team that they were charging through this time and despite no services being rendered and failed integrations on out website, the team offered no refunds for this entire period of time. The contact from the company was more interested in nit picking what I had to say rather than trying to understand what I was saying, looking at the big picture, and helping constructively solve the problem. We are all in business and understand that customers shouldn’t be charged for something that is broken and not functional for the consumer or end user. There are much better apps with easier integration that I’d recommend. This one’s a convoluted mess and as business owners, we want to focus on sales and marketing rather than never-ending app integration issues. Suffice to say, at this point, Recharge isn’t a good app that we’d recommend to incorporate in your store.

If I could give you all a zero I would. they are purposely screwing over small and medium business. I just had a meeting with them and they told me that they do not want to work with small businesses and they are doing that by charging prices for their membership that they know business owners can't afford. They told me that they would rather have our small business work with yotpo instead. What business in their right mind would purposely send customers to other businesses? They are shady and a greedy company. I do not see them being able to survive if they keep screwing over small business owners.

None of the functions in this app work. When you try and cancel a subscription it never works and that is a great way piss a customer off when they see their $300+ subscription has been renewed and they don't want it. I have tired to delete the app and the instructions they give you don't even work. This app sucks so bad.

VERY DISSAPOINTED - After seeing the greedy change to pricing! We have been using Recharge for nearly 2 years, and thought the prices were ok... though already not cheap. To now hear that the prices are being changed from "0 per/m with a 1% + 10¢ per transaction" to "$99 per/m with 1.25% + 19¢ per transaction fee" is mind-blowing. Obviously, these guys don't care for their current customer base, especially the smaller businesses.

I had been using this app for almost two years for a monthly art pin subscription club. Unfortunately the price hike makes this unusable for very small businesses. I can handle a % fee increase because it is scaled to the size of my business, but the new $99 per month flat fee kills this for small businesses and those just starting out. This new monthly fee represents a price hike of over 900% per month for me. This might work for larger customers who can easily absorb a flat fee, but for little guys like myself and several others I have spoken to, this just doesn't work. At least I have the rest of 2023 to migrate to another solution for my club.

Loved it until they sent the notice out that standard pricing is going from $0 1%+10 cents and increasing to $99/Month on 1/1/2024. That is quite a jump! Changing promptly to a different app. Why wait until January when it will make the transition more complex with more customers?

Interface is clunky (can't easily find where to do things like modifying outgoing email copy) and uses difficult-to-understand language, especially in the updates section of customer accounts. We lost two subscriptions because they were put through as one-time purchases yet Recharge couldn’t explain why. The add-ons section looks unrefined and is difficult for customers to comprehend (a time-consuming process for the few who do) so we lose out on add-on purchases. Now, we’re trying to achieve the ‘simple’ task of updating our email address: not only have we gone back-and-forth with Recharge for over a week, now we’re receiving error messages and customer emails are still going from our old email. Once our plan is up, we’re moving to a new app—also one that won't charge $99/month plus a transaction fee—even at the risk of losing current subscribers.

We have been using the app for 5 years, and as of Jan 1, they are taking our monthly fee from $20 to $99! I can not understand how they can justify this type of increase, and it is impossible for my small business to absorb. I did reach out their support team, and they sent me the instructions for exporting my data so I can leave. Holy hell! Shopify was really helpful and sent me new affordable options that I'll be checking out.

We have been using the app for the last 5 years. Mostly it has been fine although the layout of the webpage is confusing if you need to make changes to customers subscriptions. However with the recent announcement of a 400% price increase on the standard plan, which seems rather excessive... greed much? we will be looking elsewhere. We are only a small business and there is not a lot of margin in the subscription boxes that we offer.

Was on this app for almost 3 years. Now they say they are switching and charging everyone $99.00 a month. This created a lot of work for me now, Not happy about this.

The app used to be impressive, we have been using it for some time, but today we received an email outlining the new pricing that we will be required to pay starting next year: $99 per month. This exorbitant price tag is simply unaffordable, making it difficult for us to survive. And to have the gall to also continue/increase the transaction fee at the same time. We're disappointed. We will promptly search for an alternative app provider if this remains smh

We had a few problems with this app and only used it for subscriptions. It kept missing subscriptions, and then the customer thought they had cancelled, and then recharged them the following month so the customer did not know where they were coming or going! Due to the advertised price hike of the standard price going up to $99 PER MONTH we can no longer afford to use the subscription service. We were paying between $15 and $25 per month depending on subscription numbers. As subscription box margins are tight, we can no longer afford this service and will be looking elsewhere.

Amazing app, sadly the money has gone to their heads. We have used it for a little while now, but we received an email today outlining the new pricing we are being forced to pay as of next year. $99pmo. Unachievable for smaller businesses to stay afloat with that hefty price tag. Would have been a better move to shift things to a lower PMO amount and up the fees. We literally only use the app for its subscription functions, nothing else is used by us and we have to pay this massive price tag for features was have no interest in at all. Daft. Disappointed. We will be finding a new app provider asap now so i no longer pay in to this money-hungry stupidity. Small businesses and large ones pay enough in apps as it is without this sort of hike. good app, not worth that much, sorry it really isn't. best of luck

Unfortunately can't recommend this app if you already have an active subscription business. The migration is full of mistakes and no one is making sure to inform you what needs to be done when for a smooth transition. When the migration is done they just drop everything and won't even check up on charge errors from the migration. We had to discover all of these errors ourself and they are not helpfull to fix it when asked. We have lost A LOT of customers because of this migration. People are being charged wrong - either too many times or not at all when supposed to. This is your complete nightmare as a subscription business doing a migration.

We have been with Recharge for years and are now looking for another app to provide recurring payments. They do not provide adequate customer service and do not respond to urgent requests. They advertise that they offer video calls and will assist in the case of a total site shut down, and they do not. Our subscription products stopped working randomly on a Friday afternoon and they told us they will be back to work Monday and will help us then. In the meantime, we are unable to sell products and have a massive marketing campaign running. Our inbox is full of customers wanting to purchase and we cannot serve them because of Recharge's issue. They will not respond to emails. We are severely disappointed and frustrated and do not recommend that a business relying on recurring revenue use this app.

WARNING COUPON CODE GLITCH! FREE OVERNIGHT TO JAPAN? NOOOOO!!! Ok, so this glitch is SUPER annoying. It usually takes me 5 times to explain it to support, and I don't think they ever "get it". I did explain it to top management and they couldn't believe the system would have this glitch, but not enough people complain so they don't fix it. Here is the issue. If you offer "FREE SHIPPING" codes, Shopify has a smart "limit to X dollars". Well Recharge doesn't have this limit. So if somebody orders a $10 product, and they have a free shipping code, they can request FREE FEDEX OVERNIGHT even internationally. So a $10 product can get $300 overnight fedex shipping for free. This really sucks. Every couple of weeks I catch the glitch but more often it goes out on it's own. Very annoying. RECHARGE! ARE YOU LISTENING? FIX THIS GLITCH!

Can someone please get back to me. Since 6 months ago we are requesting to convert to a Shopify checkout integration as recharge is not compatible with out delivery date selector Zapiet. Customers can't make any new subscriptions as no-one can checkout with a subscription product at the moment. I've messaged and emailed so many times to your support team, please please please help.
