Not impressed at all with this. The app is extremely simplistic in reality. By "fixing alt texts" for example, all it does is duplicate your page title across all images for a product. This duplication would just get you down ranked. It would at least have been useful to add context or some kind of structure to the auto generated alt texts, but control is limited. It also messed up my meta title and descriptions which I had written myself for every one of my 500+ products. Downgrading my plan undid some of the damage, but I still have a lot to fix now. Support is also laughable. Very unimpressed with this simplistic and overpriced app. Not a scam, but not far off.

Hi James, Darrel here from Booster SEO. I want to sincerely apologize for the issues you've encountered and thank you for your feedback. I understand the frustration with the app's AutoPilot feature not automating everything. Just to clarify, what our app does is use your Product title as the Meta title and Product description as the Meta description by default or if you use the "Let the app decide" option on the AutoPilot page. The idea is that you already have the proper keyword in your Product Title and Description, the main keyword will be your Product Title(since your product title should have the best keyword that describes your product) and in the event that keyword is not in your meta description then the app will let you know that it needs to be added on your product description manually so that it'll be updated in the meta description coming from our app. Our app does do a lot automatically through its AutoPilot features, but some SEO involves keyword-optimizing the visible content of your pages (such as your product descriptions), and our app never does that automatically, for two reasons:​ - Google is quite good at detecting (and penalizing) when an app has automatically generated page content, so our app avoids it. - As an expert in your industry, you are the best judge of what keywords are best and how they should be written into your content, so our app gives you guidance on where keywords are missing but leaves the writing up to you. ​ Regarding our app's alt-text feature just using the Product title, just like with the meta title and meta description, by default the app will use the Product title and your Store's name for the alt tags. It is designed this way since the best practice for alt tags is to describe the image in three to five words that include your focus keywords, and that keyword will come from your product title. ​ As you can see, the app relies heavily on your product title for keywords since the product title should be the keyword or contains the keyword that best describes your product. To learn about the most streamlined process for optimizing keywords in our app, and for a more in-depth introduction to keywords, see our guide How to Optimize Keywords for SEO in our Help Site which we sent to you via email. ​ If you don't want to use the app's default setting for alt tags, meta titles, and meta descriptions, it does provide an option to use other templates. Forget this guys. Just by uninstalling their app they messed up my Shopify metadata, head and description, it was magically gone. Didn't even leave like it as it was before. Shame on them.

Since installing this app the features have not worked how they are meant to. I was told images would sync within 48 hours of installing and two weeks on still no sync. Raised a ticket and was given a generic response: "The delay is due to factors like the queue of other accounts syncing, the number of products in a store, and Shopify's server load. This is an isolated issue, and the rest of the app's features are functioning properly." They said to wait and wanted to resolve the ticket. I had to argue to keep the ticket open UNTIL the ticket is actually resovled, not prematurely. TBH quite over the product that fails in its primary functions. Not to mention it duplicates the "Product" meta field even though this is a core element in Shopify already.

Regarding the duplication of the "Product" meta field, the "Duplicate field: brand" warning appears because both our app and your theme define a brand field, which Google identifies. Our app includes this field as part of the "Google Snippets" feature, which allows Google to generate rich results for your store in search outcomes. To address this, you have two options: 1. Disable the "Google Snippets" feature by navigating to the "Google Snippets" tab in our app. 2. We can remove or disable the "brand" field from our app's code. Our experience with the app has been a waste of time and money. While the initial service was good, including website reviews and feedback, the quality has significantly dropped. We reached out to the company 2 to 3 months into our subscription to express our concerns about not seeing any benefits. They assured us that it would take about 6 months to see results. Now, about 6 months, we still haven’t experienced any improvements. Additionally, I uninstalled the app a few days ago but noticed that we are still being charged for the period from 2025-01-16 to 2025-02-15(full month). When we contacted customer service, they were unable to provide clear information about the charges and only mentioned that we wouldn't be billed for a full month.

Horrible Plugin, Installed it and spent almost 3 hours upgrading to Premium it said it was approved and all good but we never got the Features. Contacted admin they could not do anything keep saying the same. like a broken record. So the support chat is there but for no good. Don't waste your time, this plugin is buggy, and when it has issues at the fundament level imagine what issues it has under the hood in the code Will not recommend this to anybody

The application is not working. Contacted support, they told me to wait 48 hours. Everything is still not resolved. After many days of contact, the answer was still mechanical. I approved the 69 usd per month plan. Ridiculous. Lots of good reviews for the app. But am I not the only user? Cheap.

Update: The app created duplicate issues in Google Console. The automated "SEO" is really anyones guess. There's no way to see what has been done. I'd prefer to have control over what action is being taken rather than fly blind

I REMOVED YOUR APP WHY DID YOU STILL CHARGE ME? I WANT THE 55.00 REFUNDED ASAP. I read in another review "To cancel your trial period, you just need to simply uninstall the app in your Shopify admin before your trial runs out. Uninstalling the app from your store will effectively cancel your subscription." THAT IS UNTRUE. I uninstalled the app and it charged me 55.00 anyway.

This app comes with a free trial. There was no indication of how to successfully cancel the membership before the trial period ended. We spent over 30 minutes looking for how to communicate our wishes and how to change our subscription to no avail. Misleading to consumer and actually a waste of our time.

I tried this app with the free trial. A few days later I downgraded back to the basic (free) plan and guess what? At the end of the month I was still charged. I have uninstalled the app and I'm never using it again. Give me a refund, thanks.

Please note that the reason you were charged was because the app was uninstalled after the Trial Period. The app was installed and the Premium plan's 7-day trial period started on March 2, 2024, but the app was uninstalled on March 28, 2024. To avoid being charged, the plan should have been downgraded to the Free plan or the app should have been uninstalled before March 9, 2024. ​ However, as a courtesy and since you haven't used the app for the full billing period, we proceeded and reversed the charge yesterday. Have been using this app for this last 18 months and not found it helpful. We have been paying for the premium service while doing some SEO work ourselves. I couldn't any evidence that we were getting any benefit for our fee and so in December I tried running the automatic updates on the app. Since then our impressions and clicks have plummeted. I contacted their customer service and asked why this was and for any evidence that their app was improving our SEO. They were not able to provide any evidence and all they could suggest was undoing their auto-updates and contacting Google to ask them why our clicks/impressions had dropped so drastically.

READ THE REVIEW BELOW LEFT BY "Love My Animal Life"---THIS APP DOES NOT DO WHAT IT CLAIMS!!!! Adding insult to injury, after uninstalling the app it ruined my theme code and metadata!!! "Super expensive and doesn’t do what it says. Look at your ‘Alt text’ after running the optimization prompt – nothing. The report will tell you that it did a great bulk edit and completed it successfully, but very wrong! It did rename all the photos properly – actually very well (5 stars there, but that’s the end of the 5 stars for me). Look at Meta Data/Descriptions after it says it “optimized” it for you – Nothing! No changes! My images were already optimized (somewhat) at under 400k for size, but out of 2400 photos it only dropped the amount by 76mb. I encourage users to ‘actually’ look to see if this app is making substantial changes to your site in a positive way. The funny part is, I did all the recommended optimization through their app AND then I went into the ‘SEO Audits section – Select a Product’ then looked – no alt text was ever added, matter of fact, they are telling you to add it manually to improve your product SEO. So! I didn’t stop there, I tried again and nothing, again – so I installed Hextom: Bulk Image Edit & SEO (simultaneously with this app), then I ran their Alt Text on a few of my listings. Guess what “this” Booster SEO app said on those listings when I refreshed the page? ….. Great Job! You added Alt Text and my score went up. WTF! I signed up for the $69.99/mo plan!!! That is a ridiculous amount of money – ESPECIALLY when it’s not doing what it says it’s going to do and I had to install another app to help show me all this! Btw, that app is so far amazing! Everything you tell it to do, you can go look and it actually does it – for a fraction of the price! Guess where my business went? Another thing the Meta Data & Descriptions – no change, whatsoever…. So, I contacted customer support and they said our app can’t and doesn’t change text. Which I can sort of understand (you don’t want apps messing with your own words) Well, it doesn’t even add or do anything to optimize. ALL THIS DOES is give you a nice report (when clicking into every listing you have) how to try and optimize it yourself. So, for some maybe that knowledge is enough to pay that kind of money, but you can find that on google for free, just look up how to optimize your website for SEO, or better yet YouTube is packed with info! Sorry for the rant, but I don’t care how many 5 stars this has, look for yourself…. It’s not doing what it portrays to do when you read about it when purchasing and the reason for this big review is I am a HARD worker, along with others, I’m sure. It’s not fair that they are wasting their money every month (an extreme amount!) for something that is not doing what they think it is. Again, just run the test folks, look for yourself! For all you small business owners trying to succeed, I wish you the best! You can do this!"

These people pretty much stole money from me. I was under the impression that I could try this app out under a free trial and if it wasn't working out for what I had in mind I could just contact customer service and they would refund my money. I haven't used this app since the first three days and they still took my money. I sent emails and was never contacted or responded to. Horrible!!!

Mediocre and expensive. I am glad I rid of it. Moreover, even uninstalled for more than a month it CHAREGED me $69!!!! Use TinyIMG instead - it is MUCH MORE efficient and cost a fraction of that one.

I loved this app at the start, but then problems came from out of nowhere... I have been paying for this app since late 2021 & now all of a sudden I checked back on it & my pro plan was removed without me stopping the subscription, while still being charged every month... Their support team is all over the place, people asking me the same questions without looking back at the previous chats & they said I cancelled my subscription on the 8th July, even though on my upcoming bill the app is still being charged... I didn't cancel the app, I got in touch with them because I noticed I was being charged but getting told I'm on the free plan.
