It just works! Perfect app for my needs. Easy to install and use. There were a few times when I had to refresh manually but all it took was clicking on a button and everything was back to normal. Thanks for the app.

Couldn't figure out why I got unsubscribed from my own email list until I found the reviews. This app unsubscribed people who placed orders, meaning our most valuable subscribers.
Hi there, thank you for your feedback. After extensive testing, we've figured out how this could be happening after finding a bug in Shopify during checkout. We've been in contact with their technical team, and they have acknowledged this is a glitch on their end. They are working hard to deploy a fix for this problem. Here's why you are having the previous subscribers moved to unsubscribed (or transactional). 1. Let's say [email protected] checks out in your store and opts out of marketing on their first checkout. In Shopify, this customer is NOT subscribed at this point. 2. Later on, you decide to connect ShopSync with an existing Mailchimp Audience. 3. [email protected] IS currently subscribed in Mailchimp in this example - perhaps you gathered their email address previously via another platform or curated them from a pop-up/landing page or social media. 4. With ShopSync now connected, [email protected] comes back to place an order for the second time, and this time they opt-in at checkout. 5. Here's the bug...Shopify doesn't update that customer to be subscribed to marketing on the second order. 6. Because the user is still deemed to be opted out of marketing, Shopify passes this information to Mailchimp as unsubscribed; if they don't complete the checkout, they would be marked as transactional. The only workaround we can advise is to resubscribe the customer via the Shopify admin manually. This action will POST a customer update to Mailchimp with the correct subscriber status to your Audience. Thanks again for the feedback, but please understand the unsubscribe behavior is not because of ShopSync specifically. Because of the bug, any app listening to a customer update from Shopify would pass the wrong information at this point on the customer's marketing status. We don't have visibility into Shopify's product release or bug fix roadmap, but I'm happy to reach back out directly when this issue is patched. In the interim, please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.

I've had this app installed for a while and for the most part it seems to work fine, but after reading some reviews today about customers being unsubscribed if they don't check the "accept marketing" box at checkout, I looked and sure enough I think this has happened with my account too which is terrible! Some customers have been with me for years and then all of the sudden they're off my mailing list because they didn't check a box? I'm uninstalling this app today.

I used this app to connect my Shopify store to Mailchimp, and I've had 0 issues. It's easy to connect, and it allows me to work smarter with Mailchimp. The customer service is outstanding as well.

Pretty efficient except for one tiny detail that ends up being problematic : the `create date` field from Shopify is not synchronized with MailChimp when a new customer is created via Shopify API. Any chance this could be fixed?
Hi there, thanks for your review. We do pass the "date added" to Mailchimp as shown here in this example: https://a.cl.ly/nOuD0ww1. If you create a segment in Mailchimp, you can also filter those users by "date added". Create date per se, would be the same thing, correct? Let us know if we're missing anything and we'll be glad to see what we can do.

Integrated petzpaws.com Shopify data perfectly to Mailchimp. The process takes time so be very patient. You will be prompted upon completion.

I installed this app when MailChimp stop working with Shopify long time ago and during all this period the app worked as expected acting as a bridge between both platforms. Last week I encounter an issue when trying to remove the MailChimp PopUp from our Store and after asking for help ShopSync support team helped us quick and clear. We were able to fix the issue by following the steps they explained. App: Good- Working as expected Customer Service: Great. Thanks guys

One MAJOR issue: If one of your subscribed contacts makes a purchase and does not click the box to opt in for email marketing (and why would they, they're already subscribed?) then they get UNSUBSCRIBED from your list. Not acceptable. This is the only app I can find to sync/track revenue generation from my emails so I'd really like to use it, I'd even pay for it. OneSass makes an app that syncs my contacts without the whole unsubscribe fiasco, but they don't sync revenue data. ShopSync - PLEASE PLEASE fix this and you'll have my business. Tell me if/when you do!
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We wanted to let you know that this behavior was patched on 10/12/20: https://shopsync.io/changelog. Thank you for making this much needed (and well-functioning) free app. I have used it for over a year and never had an issue. It is greatly appreciated!

I am not sure how it will work as it's a bit of a mystery. I had an import issue for an "Age Verification" field that was a required merge and their support put me through rigours that did not resolve the issue. The age verification field was a mandatory field and there was no alternative to map it to in the pop up field entries. I just mapped it to Customer Notes so it would merge my date between Shopify and Mailchimp but who knows if that can be changed later or fixed so it records proof of age properly - we sell alcohol so this is important!! I wish I could call and talk with someone but no such option exists so I am still riding blind and wondering if it will work at all - confidence is low right now.
Hi there, we saw your review and wanted to reach back out. We also replied to your support ticket that was posted for some of your other questions. With the situation you're describing in the review, you would need to contact Mailchimp if you're having any trouble getting that age verification merge tag put in. Once that's done, ShopSync's merge tag mapper can populate data in that field with no issue. If you want to fill in past data for any reason, you could initiate a force resync from the ShopSync app inside of Shopify. Please let us know if you need additional support around the features in ShopSync, we're happy to help anytime.

It really helps with connecting to our mailing list! I would highly recommend it. If you use Mailchimp or other apps that can't connect directly to Shopify this is a great workaround.

The app technically works, but there is a glaring bug that I'm not sure anyone has figured out a workaround for. If you send an email to a subscribed customer through Mailchimp and they click through the email and make a purchase but do not check the email opt in at the check out page, they get changed to transactional emails only. Meaning that you can't send them marketing comms moving forward. This leads to your highest quality subscribers essentially being opted out. Also, if they make it through the check out process AND check the box to receive email comms, the data gets passed through to Mailchimp as if they are a new subscriber and will get put into whatever onboarding workflow you have set up (if you have an onboarding program for new subs). So yes, this app works, but it often provides an experience for the end user that can make you and your site look like you don't know what you're doing an ultimately can turn people off to buying your products. I hope this gets sorted out eventually.
