The installation went fairly smoothly although the whole process took a bit longer than I expected. The instructions advise you to "archive" your automation emails, but I was very hesitant to do that since the emails have to be rebuilt if you archive. The mailchimp tech support advised to "pause" the emails instead AND check the queues for the automation emails to ensure that there were no subscribers in queue that shouldn't be there. There is a way to easily remove these subscribers from the queue which I did. It was time consuming to check all of our automation email queues but less time consuming than archiving and rebuilding the automation. Very pleased to have found an App that works so well and solves this problem.

I set this app up as the go between shopify and mailchimp. Easy to set up all seems to work fine, the team were helpful. Email test fine. Can't fault it.

When customers sign up to our email list the confirmation email goes to spam - this is a huge barrier to customers and there has been a dramatic customer retention drop off because of this :(
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and wanted to reach back out. With the feature you’re describing it is outside the functionality of ShopSync, we don't have control over the confirmation email sent by Mailchimp. If you're concerned about this feature, Mailchimp would be better suited to answer your questions. You can reach out to their excellent customer service team over at https://mailchimp.com/help/. You should be able to chat with them and take things from there. Let us know if you have any follow up questions or visit our support area to learn more information about ShopSync.

This is by far the worst App I have ever had it doesn't do what it says does, entering valid email addresses that are not spam or bot it chooses what it wants to send to mailchimp. So you end up missing out on sign ups if you don't closely check your list. Shopsync solution was to do a re sync that doesn't work either. Even worse now the original Sync has completely messed up my customer date order sequence in my admin section and shopsync are avoiding fixing this. Now when I select the order newest customers I get random mixture of old and new what a balls up. Now I am trying to get them to fix this they avoiding the issue. Apps like this should be banned. This whole experience has also put me off Mailchimp the whole thing has been nothing but a drama and complete waste of time.

Decided to use this based on the recommendations, we like many others were reluctant to drop Mailchimp, everything transferred over smoothly and just waiting to check everything runs smoothly after the cut off date, a good experience so far

Quite a frustrating experience when things like this happen - but ShopSync appears to have squashed a few of those issues. It has only been a couple of days, but after some tinkering, it appears everything is running almost as it was (with the exception of the abandon cart flows - only one will work after the transition) Hopefully, everything continues to run smoothly as planned.

I used this app to help with Shopify and MailChimp no longer being directly compatible. I saw a few issues people had had with implementing this app so I did my homework. After comparing apps, reading all the FAQs, and verifying some things with the VERY helpful support staff, I synced up and am now all good. I was confused initially thinking I could only have one list. Not so, only one list can be synced, which has always been the case with MailChimp. Great step by step install instructions. The only confusions were with just how easy the switch-over to this app was.

I uninstalled the App because it was nor working normally (didn't show the sync list option). Now I push on the "add app" button to install it again and Cannot install it. Shows "page not found" . Please help me with this issue to review the app
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and it sounds like your issue may be related to a browser caching issue or just a temporary problem with Shopify's app store. We'd suggest clearing your cookies/cache or trying another browser entirely. If the problem persists, don't hesitate to contact us for further troubleshooting at [email protected].

The app does the basic job but far from good. As soon as I installed the app, I had around 1500 new subscribers a lot of them were people who had 'Unsubscribed' from our mailing list in Mailchimp in the past but now since this app picks up the data again from Shopify these people have been enrolled again in as Subscribed contacts in our list and I have no way to tell which ones are which. A number of customers can get frustrated now getting emails that they unsubscribed to in the past. Mailchimp and Shopify acting like a bunch of kids causing pains to the small merchants like us.

For some reason, I am not able to connect the shopsync at all though I tried. Guess, it thinks I did.
Hi Flatbed Press, We're still actively getting stores installed, so it may be a temporary issue with Shopify's servers in certain locations. Also, if you go to your apps listing page in Shopify, do you see it there? If so, you should be able to click and start the sync process. If not, maybe give it a try in another browser or machine; it could be a cookie or caching issue. If you want to give it a retry later hopefully things will be resolved. Let us know if you have any follow up questions. Please contact us anytime at [email protected].

Works very well (and love that it is free!) It was easy to follow the instructions and install. Thank you!

We used Shopsync to connect our Shopify site to Mailchimp. A few days later we found out that Welcome emails were sent to over half of our existing subscriber list - prompting some to opt out! This is confusing and embarassing. Not sure what went wrong.
Hi there, sorry for any hassle. We've actually confirmed the welcome email behavior is a bug on the Mailchimp end and they are working on a fix. Depending on when you installed the app, we attempt to make this very clear on the install screen prior to setting up ShopSync. As a best practice, we recommend archiving any welcome email that is active in Mailchimp. You will be able to reactivate and fuse these back together after the sync is complete. Mailchimp has put an easy to follow migration guide together that you can follow for any other automations that are activated.

The initial sync added 4,000 contacts to our MailChimp list. This moved us up to the next bracket for Mailchimp, costing us way more monthly. We do not know where they came from or why they were added once we synced with ShopSync. It would be cool if shopsync had reasonings or resolutions for this. Also your contact us page seems to not be working....
Hi Altman Plants, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and wanted to respond right away. There could be various reasons why subscriber counts have gone up after the initial sync. In most situations, we've seen that the legacy 'Mailchimp for Shopify' integration was previously installed, and contacts were not added to the list. This could've been with failures on submission to Mailchimp with merge tags being required, rejected by the API or just missed entirely. When ShopSync was activated, these customers have finally been added the list. If you'd like to reach out to our support team with example emails you're not sure about, we're happy to do some more in depth analysis with you. Reach out to us anytime at [email protected].

A great solution for those who want to keep using Mailchimp. It was easy to install and is working smoothly so far.

I was a bit stressed about the disappearance of the Mailchimp for Shopify integration - but ShopSync stepped in and filled that role with very little setup required on my part. It was easy to connect and the integration is working great from what I can tell/test. Thought I would have to switch email providers; glad I don't have to.

Hello, it is now about a week I am using this app. I migrated from the Mailchimp app. So far so (very) good. Had only one issue (but I guess it was coming form Mailchimp): the abandoned cart series I set up previously did not work anymore after the migration. I had to recreate it. No everything works well.

I used this app to sync Mailchimp with Shopify. It was the only FREE option that I had. I would love to have Klayvio but it's more than I wanted to pay at the moment. I read the warnings of how emails were sent to old subscribers, but I had an even more strange thing happen. I had an additional 179 people imported into my mailchimp-emails that were never even on my subscriber or unsubscribe list, and totally unfamiliar to me. Has anyone else had that happen? I have no clue where these random emails came from, but suddenly they received my automated "thank you for subscribing" message and then I had to delete each person individually which wasted hours of time. For some reason mailchimp was not letting me delete multiples at a time. I don't know why this would happen, and now each time I delete a bunch of foreign emails they seem to keep getting added back in. I'm terrified to even use my mailchimp to send a mass email because I'm not sure who's going to get it. I'm tempted to bite the bullet and switch over to Klayvio.

Easy to install, it works well and I could continue using Mailchimp after it parted from Shopify! Very useful!

Great app! Solved my Mailchimp connectivity issue and now I am back to syncing my Shopify email captures with Mailchimp again.

I was a little concerned when I read that MailChimp was no longer going to support their app to integrate with Shopify. However, I found ShopSync and it's even more fully functional that the MC app. It installed easily and just took a little time to sync all of my store info. Couldn't have been any easier and I'm glad to highly recommend the app.
