Transition from mailchimp app on my shopify store to bridging it with shopsync once shopify stopped supporting mailchimp was seamless

So far so good! Imported all contacts and Mailchimp still functions just like it did before. Saved me time & effort!

Thank GOD, we would have gone crazy if this app was not there ! Mailchimp is soul of our business & we can't expect to live without it. 5 Star to the integration process & yes its working very smooth. highly recommended.

So far so good. Their support has been great despite the fact I'm sure they got flooded with inquiries around the May 12 deadline. Answered three of my questions rapidly and thoroughly. Post sync, I also ended up with more subscribers than I originally had, so hopefully there's no major issue there. Regardless, I'm super thankful this app exists because the other solutions were going to burn some serious time, and this app at least provides a bridge in case you want to test the other email solutions while still having a fully functional mailchimp. Thanks ShopSync!

I was able to install the app and complete the sync without any problems. My biggest concern is that my email list DOUBLED in size and now I'm left wondering where all of the extra subscribers came from. Are they real subscribers or people that previously unsubscribed? Or did I get random emails connected to my list? My business reputation is on the line and I will be sending an explanatory email to all of my customers regarding the new integration with ShopSync.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. There could be various reasons why subscriber counts have gone up after the initial sync. In most situations, we've seen that the legacy 'Mailchimp for Shopify' integration was previously installed, and contacts were not added to the list. This could've been with failures on submission to Mailchimp with merge tags being required, rejected by the API or just missed entirely. When ShopSync was activated, these customers have finally been added the list. We've seen many examples that the old app just wasn't working correctly. If you're at all concerned that subscribers on a list that shouldn't be or you think it's been too long of period since these customers were contacted, we recommend sending out a light email - maybe something to the effect of "We're updating our customer newsletter software, click here to opt-out if you don't want to receive further messages from us". Another option is to bulk unsubscribe these users based on their last purchase. Also, it's worth mentioning how our initial sync works. Before any data is processed by ShopSync, we perform integrity checks with Mailchimp to ensure these customers can be sent to the list that is connected. For example, if someone has unsubscribed from list in the past, we won't add the email again. We'll also update Shopify with the correct status that Mailchimp shows. That way, the most current subscriber status in Mailchimp is synced with your store. However, if you've deleted contacts deleted from a list there are some important things to know. If you delete a customer from an audience, it removes their history from Mailchimp. Unsubscribing keeps a trace of the customer, and we use it as a baseline for our logic. If there's no record of the customer in Mailchimp, we will then add them a subscriber if they've Accepted Marketing in Shopify. The deleting customer scenario versus unsubscribing has been challenging for everyone. It's a source for many of the "Help! my contact list counts have increased!" support requests we've received. Unfortunately, there's no perfect solution, if we don't see a customer in Mailchimp (because they've been deleted), then we have no choice but to honor the Shopify marketing status that is available. Otherwise, we're going to get complaints the other way. After the initial sync is complete, we'll continue adding customers, orders, and products from your store to Mailchimp as transactions occur. We'll add customers that visit your store who are deemed transactional as well. That way, you can use Mailchimp's automations to trigger abandoned carts and order notifications. If someone unsubscribes from a Mailchimp campaign or automation in the future, we'll sync the opt-out status back to Shopify and vice versa. Finally got Shopsync setup, had to keep going back to video tutorial and written instructions as it wasn't as clear on one of the steps if you're not experienced IT. Help desk was only available to paid subscription users and not us potential paying subscribers. Fingers-crossed that it works.
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and wanted to clarify a few things. 1) What video tutorial are you referring to? 2) ShopSync is a free app, and we're happy to answer any questions you may have. If you have a moment, please send your replies to [email protected].

So far, so good. I had problems with error messages and a server issue, probably from everyone changing at the same time, and received a personal and friendly email within 30 secs explaining just that. My numbers remain the same. The app is free and everything else I looked at switching to was A LOT more expensive. Thank you ShopSync.

Despite following every detail of the instructions provided by Mailchimp to pause and migrate our automated Welcome email series and Abandoned Cart series (which wasn't exactly rocket science), they are not working. Contacted ShopSync about it, they told me to talk to Mailchimp. Round and round we go... Update: After some expected back & forth with Mailchimp I had to re-create my automations and deleted the old ones that weren't working. So far things seem to be okay, but it really shoudn't have been so hard. I feel if you're going to roll out a "solution" like this that allows people to still use Mailchimp after their messy breakup with Shopify, it should be ready to roll without the end user needing to figure out how to work out the bugs. I also just noticed that on the exact date we synced to this app, our number of contacts somehow DOUBLED and put us into a much higher price bracket with Mailchimp. Still waiting to hear back from them about that one. Another update: We even had trouble deleting this app! After deciding to scrap this whole mess and just use Shopify Email instead, MailChimp told us that all we needed to do to disconnect MailChimp from the signup form on our site was to delete the ShopSync app. Not true! After a week of ShopSync saying "Talk to MailChimp" and MailChimp saying "Talk to ShopSync", we had to hire a developer to come clean up the mess left behind by this app and MailChimp in order to get our signup forms working again. Total pain in the ass.

This app works as advertised. Just started using it but no problems so far with setup. I hope I will have no problems in the future as well. At least there is a substitute for MailChimp.

Awesome 5 stars , simple easy to switch to keep mailchimp connected / running from Shopify just follow the direction. If you have a lot 20K+ of products, customers, orders it will take days to sync up. Also in mailchimp the abandon cart email sequence will have to saved as templates and moved to start a NEW ab cart sequence hooked to sync shopsync. The old sync in shopify for mailchimp doesn't work, transfer over. A+ app. 150% easy to use operate.

There's only one day left before the MailChimp/Shopify integration ends and there's a huge notice when installing this app: "Important! Please archive any Mailchimp welcome e-mail automation before installing ShopSync If you have welcome e-mail automations running in Mailchimp, please archive (not pause) before installing ShopSync. There have been reports that emails have been resent after performing sync, and we are actively investigating the issue. Other automations are not impacted and can be migrated as noted in Mailchimp's knowledge base article." Seriously, who is stupid enough to move forward after reading this? And reading how ShopSync is replying to other people, seems like a huge loophole where ShopSync & MailChimp will not take ownership of any issues, truly try to help their users, but instead play the "blame game" and refer to the other party over and over. Removing this app right away...
Hi there, Eidon thank you for your candid feedback. We've confirmed the welcome email behavior is a bug on the Mailchimp side, and their support team is investigating. It's got something to do with timestamps misbehaving internally. To be clear, this is not something that ShopSync is doing but we felt the urgency to make it transparent so our users don't have any surprises. For now, if you have welcome automations running, we recommend that you archive them before activating our app. You can easily reactivate or recreate them after the sync is done and restart. All that to say, we hope that things will be resolved soon, but we don't have any visibility into their workloads. Other automations are ok to leave as described in the migration guide Mailchimp has published. Let us know if you have any follow up questions. Feel free to reach back out to us at [email protected].

Works well. Follow Blissful Maternity's instructions and you'll be fine. (sort by most helpful reviews) Thanks to Shopsync support also. They emailed me back promptly with one question I had regarding the process.

Very simple and quick integration, I was pleasantly surprised. I will be sending out a newsletter in a couple of weeks so will be keen to see how that goes. The pausing/restarting of my abandoned cart email series worked perfectly and has been functioning as expected - thanks guys!

I'm leaving a 5 star review as up until this point I've been really happy with the ShopSync integration with MailChimp. However, I do have an issue that needs to be resolved asap. In regards to order notifications, when I click “Start Sending” in MailChimp, I hit a roadblock, as a pop-up window appears which asks me to confirm “My store is up to date”. When I check the box “My store is up to date”, the “Start” button is still greyed out and nothing happens. Any assistance you could provide in enabling order notifications would be greatly appreciated.
