GOAFFPRO ‑ Affiliate Marketing

Beware. We discovered goaffpro affiliates were hijacking Rebuy and existing discount codes and utm parameters to lay claim and attribution for sales from customers already on our email and SMS lists so there is some very fraudulent business going on here and goaffpro knows it- we advised them and they did nothing. We paid out over $20K in fraudulent "affiliate commissions". They did nothing because they make a portion of that money too.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. We’d like to clarify a few important points for anyone reading this review. GoAffPro does not charge commissions on affiliate sales or payouts. Your store was on our Free Plan, so we did not receive any portion of the affiliate commissions you paid. GoAffPro is a self-managed affiliate platform. Merchants have full control over their program, including attribution rules, commission settings, and—most importantly—the ability to review, approve, or reject commissions before any payouts are made. We do not participate in managing affiliate programs or executing payouts on behalf of merchants. Regarding attribution, GoAffPro records referrals based on the tracking rules configured for the program. If there are concerns about interactions with other marketing tools, discount codes, or attribution logic, our support team is always available to help review the configuration and recommend the appropriate settings. We have features to prevent unwanted attribution in many scenarios, but they must be configured according to each merchant’s requirements. We take reports of tracking issues seriously and are always happy to investigate specific cases. If you’d like to revisit your account with us, please contact our support team with examples, and we’ll gladly review them in detail.
Hi The app comes with a 14 day trial to help you try all the premium features before committing
Not recommended for serious brands in the US market. The app lacks basic fraud protection against coupon leaks and automatic bots. It allows coupon aggregator websites (like Honey) to easily scrape codes and hijack regular customer sales, forcing you to pay unfair affiliate commissions. There is no active or quality marketplace to find real influencers. A total waste of time and ad budget.
Watch out for new affiliates that you haven't approved. I had one that was able to get in and offer a 10% discount
Randomly upgraded my account to a premium so having to pay HUGE increase in price!?!? No warning or email.
It is literally impossible for the ANY app to upgrade or charge without merchant approval. I am sure you know that you have that whole process where you get to see the price -> Then you choose the plan -> The you are taken to Shopify billing page where you are again shown the pricing and there you click Agree before the billing starts the Nobody can miss all of that
ATTENTION FRAUDEURS !
This app serves as a scam platform for scammers (sadly) Vietnamese will register, highjack your brand name on Google, position their crap on your already built sales and you'll have to pay commissions... Run away.
Hi The marketplace is an optional feature and it disabled by default. You don't have to publicize your program to everyone on the internet. You can keep it running privately. You can also set marketplace restrictions to ensure that only users from US (or your chosen country register). Finally you only approve the users whom you want to work with. The system clearly displays the user's country / ip address etc. when they sign up. You can also auto block google ad sales (Settings -> Advanced settings tab -> Block google ads option) If you don't want to work with affiliates outside the France, don't approve those accounts. I checked your marketplace listing and there are no country restrictions. and the program is explicitly set to auto approval. Payment to the affiliates is also at your discretion, you can evaluate their sales before them paying Finally, being a free user, you are not paying us anything, you have been using the app for many years, and bad mouthing us here is a complete net negative for us. We already have too many dropshippers like you, using the free version and consuming resources without contributing to the ecosystem. With our reply, at least your customers would know that they are buying overpriced goods from your store. They can get the same from alibaba for one tenth the price. $19 for leaf earrings, the exact same on alibaba for $1.20. What a ripoff. Run Away
BUYER BEWARE!!! Unless you truly understand this app's functionality, you might wind up with paying affiliate commissions to people who are trying to scam you! I inquired about an affiliate's claimed orders because I wanted to learn how I determine whether these orders were a result of the affiliate's actions. Here is what Goaffpro told me 6 days later: "This affiliate was found to be cookie stuffing and was hence suspended from the platform. You don't need to pay suspended affiliates. As they have been found doing this in multiple programs. They have been blocked platform wide. Usually affiliates who engage in click frauds, cookie stuffing etc. are proactively suspended from the platform to protect our merchant partners." Sounds to me like the app developers need to work on security measures to help protect their merchants. I am very disappointed. There needs to be more transparency.
We asked Harper and Emma to help us create a ticket with an issue and they were not willing to help at all until we mentioned the review page.
Unfortunately, this app does not work for us. Despite all our marketing efforts, it appears not fulfilling our purpose. Our business is over controlled by them. All of our marketing materials and digital assets are connected with their domains. That makes it hard to promote our own brand. We believe there is a better one out there that can do a better job instead of paying for this software that basically does not perform well. It is also too expensive for small business owners. We do not recommend it.
EU merchants be beware: this app does not offer a downloadable or signable Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Under GDPR, a signed DPA is legally required when personal data is processed on your behalf. Without it, you’re not compliant. Until this is fixed, this app is not safe to use for EU businesses.
The customer service is extremely poor. We explain the problem in detail, yet it seems they’re unwilling to address the issue with their application’s coupon automation feature. Instead, they simply suggest applying a fix in Shopify, but the error persists within their app when creating automated coupons. This renders the automation feature pointless. They fail to provide a solution and refuse to take responsibility for the losses this issue causes to our store.
Hi The customer service responded appropriately to your questions. The coupon code in question [SARA-48-AF] was NOT created through the app You created it manually in Shopify. When you manually create it in shopify, you also need to manually update it there. If you want to automate things, then create it through the app. It is quite simple to understand and you can update the code in less time you took to lash out Also, you are on the free plan, not paying us anything, got live chat support, got right answer in 5 minutes from a real human and still chose to write this to ruin our team's morale. 👍
An utterly dire app with huge amount of security issues some affiliates we able to creat 100% codes. Avoid at all costs as when cancelling the company still tried to take payments
After loging as an affiliate, it keep showing the old domain name, instead of new. They says it cannot be changed, time for UpPromote
Hi Just set up your new domain in Settings -> Advanced settings tab -> Default referral link option
I'm beyond frustrated with this affiliate program. Imagine my surprise when I found out that unapproved accounts could generate and share discount codes with the public! It’s completely absurd—how can they have access before I even approve them? But what made this even worse was the response from customer service. Instead of addressing the real issue, they just told me to turn off the automatic discount code feature. Seriously? That’s not a solution! They never even bothered to explain why these codes are active for unapproved accounts in the first place. It's like they didn’t care about actually solving the problem. This is a huge red flag for anyone who wants control over their affiliates. The lack of accountability and poor customer support are absolutely unacceptable. I regret trusting this program and strongly advise others to stay away! Reply on 9 Oct: Your response is missing the point entirely. You claim that pending accounts can’t see their dashboards and therefore can’t change or access their discount codes. But that’s simply not true. Pending accounts are able to change and share their codes, even though they haven’t been approved yet. I’ve seen this happen firsthand, so claiming they don’t have access isn’t addressing the real issue. The main problem here is that unapproved accounts can still use and modify codes. Telling me to turn off automatic code generation is just a workaround, not a fix. Why are these codes active for pending accounts at all? This flaw undermines the whole approval process. Stop deflecting the issue and provide a real solution. Brushing this off like it’s not a big deal is not the kind of support I expected.
Thank you for you kind words. To help other merchants reading this review, the automatic coupons simply generates the codes for the affiliates. The pending / blocked accounts do not have access to those codes. (as they don't even have access to their dashboards, so how can they even see their codes ??) If you don't like auto coupon generation, you can turn it off. Then you can assign the code when you are approving the account (which is again a one click process while approving) Anyways, we wish you good luck and hope your store succeeds. 8888 [ update ] There are literally so many ways to give discount to your affiliate's customers. 1. You can have a static code assigned at signup (Coupons page -> Automatic Coupons) 2. You can have a dynamic code which refreshes automatically as they refer (Coupons page -> Dynamic Discount codes) 3. You can have a general code which applies whenever the affiliate's link is used (Coupons page -> Set default discount code) 4. You can assign the codes before approval. The fact that you chose an option and then when this option works as advertised, you start complaining. If you don't like how this works, you can easily switch to any of the other available options. This is such an easily testable thing. Just register an account on your program as an affiliate. Then try logging in to the affiliate's area. Are you able to see / update your code ? Would love to hear what you find out. Please be kind enough to update your review after you do the above test.
By far the worst customer service I've encountered in the Shopify ecosystem. They consistently fail to answer any questions, forcing you to figure everything out on your own. Their support is not just unhelpful but downright dismissive, with a shallow, careless attitude that makes it clear they don't value their customers at all.
Are you real ?? I checked our email support system and we have exactly 2 questions from you. One on 12th Sep and another on 30th September. Both the queries were answered promptly with helpful guides. Screenshots are attached for readers https://creatives.goaffpro.com/7/rbhezzmy-screenshot-2024-10-01-at-91646-pm.png https://creatives.goaffpro.com/7/fceqefzp-screenshot-2024-10-01-at-91558-pm.png To summarize, you are on a FREE plan, not paying for the app, get your queries answered promptly, and still leave a bad review. This is mind boggling. Anyways, we wish you good luck and hope you excel in all your endeavors.
So far we give it 2 stars because we need support to respond to our support request. We are having issues with the integrations page and so far, we keep getting the following response "Hello, Bumping this up for our technical team to check They should check and update you soon" We have been getting this same message for the last 2 days. Please respond so we can update our review of your app. **UPDATE 10.04.24** I actually got busy with some other things and forgot all about this issue with the app...they never did respond even after we sent another email and posted this review. It's been almost a month now. Will have to dowgrade to 1 star and find another app because we got absolutely ZERO support. And we are not on the free plan, we started with the Premium plan from the beginning because of the functionality it was supposed to provide, but this is just not working for us. **UPDATE 05.29.25** After seeing our previous review they did eventually respond to us. They did fix the issue we were having with the integration but there are still issues with the email. All of the affiliate emails are returned with delivery status notification failures.
App not user friendly.....customers don't understand how to use app. Navigating dashboard very difficult. Trying to get help from support and have no response for 5 days now.....looking for another referral app option
I have had an ongoing issue where a new affiliate's referral link is showing up in the banner at the top of each page on my boutique. This is a new affiliate and since she joined us this has been happening. I have repeatedly asked for assistance in getting this resolved and let them know that I entered my boutique via the back office / admin area of my boutique yet they continue to say that I clicked on her link when that was not the case. I wasnt even in goaffpro. The support you get when trying to resolve an issue is horrible. They dont even read your messages. They have just continued to say that I used her link when that was not the case. There is an error somehow with the app that they refuse to resolve. I have been asking for help with this for 2 MONTHS and it is still not resolved. Im about to remove the app and go to one where you can get the support you pay for! This has been a nightmare!
Hi This is because you activated the shopping with toolbar in your program which shows the affiliate whose cookies are present in your browser. Since you had clicked the affiliate's link, the referral cookie is present in your browser which shows the toolbar. Our support had also informed you about the same thing. Attaching the support conversation screenshot below https://creatives.goaffpro.com/7/8bq3ymuacy-screenshot-2024-04-20-at-74052-am.png Also, your email to us was 12 days ago NOT 2 MONTHS back ?? The resolution as replied by the support rep was also simple. You can either Turn off the shopping with toolbar function (Look & Feel -> Toolbars tab ) OR clear the affiliate referral cookie in your browser which removes the shopping with toolbar. You can clearly test this as the toolbar will only appear in the browser which has the referral cookie (so try with a mobile browser ?) Hope this information helps
Contact customer support a couple of weeks ago with a simple commission issue, they couldn't resolve it and referred it to their tech team. Haven't heard a sensible answer from anyone since!! GoAffrpro really struggle with simplest of issues and have become a bit complacent, i would have a look at other Apps as my issue is so very very easy to understand but they simply are not dealing with it!
